Time Trial #57 ...and now for something different

And if they had regulated his every breathe, blood pressure, ect, we might have a slither of a proper comparison, as it stands we don't have one, because their rules were 'no drugs' to which he cheated. It'd be more like me altering the PP calcs, which I'm not proposing doing, I'm saying that within the games standard pp calcs, if my car comes under or up to 750pp - I am not doing anything wrong, in my opinion.

i just have to ask you to clarify whether we're talking about the hybrid cars.
Because if we are, the stupidity of what you're saying is really extraordinary.

Forgot to mention. If you're using a manual, make sure to short shift due to the power band. I forget right now when I was shifting but try to look at some of the top replays and see when they shift. 👍

I had a 46.072. .172 seconds slower then you.it was a fun challenge.i could've gotten down the 45 easily but this is the best I could do.

Yeah given more time I could probably go lower - but it was such a chore getting the gold time, I don't wanna do it again. Though as I was going for the gold time I managed nearly a second faster on my best lap, so I'm sure time can made, just not that bothered really, would much prefer to spend more time on the GVS-R with the Viper because I'm there this week in the WRS TT.

He is talking about the Hybrid Cars, and yes it is incredibly stupid to still be talking about it in this thread, let alone to be defending it as well.

Tried following bandits ghost on grand valley. Kept spinning out on turn 3 :/ if I didn't spin and slowed down enough, his ghost was already in the tunnel... Blah

Because you might be able to hack a Mk IV GT1 RM to 750PP with 5000 HP the same way this guy hacked an EVO to get into a 550PP room with 3300+ HP. The PP system is designed to work within the tuning limits provided by the original parameters of the game, not the paramaters that hacking make possible.

No matter how many times or different ways you ask the question, the answer is the same.

Thanks for the tips :) and great lap ;)

GVR turned into a combination time/drift trial for me :dopey:

Unfortunately my 15 month daughter was sick on my DS3 and attempts to revive it seem to have failed. I've been using a non-Sony spare controller but it is not very progressive - I got bronze on a 5 lap stint, but I'm actually enjoying the Viper (never used it before) 👍. Need to get the wheel out for this one.

Just had a try at the Kart track, I remember driving on it previously but a fair while ago.

Anyway, leaving it for now with 45.461.

Haven't played much the last couple of days and my wrists and fingers get really sore for a few days when I start again.

Sitting on 2:05.7 at Grand Valley.

Tried the Viper event last night, very fun. Managed I think a 2:03.7ish after 30-40 minutes, hopefully I can break into the :02s at least with some more laps.

When I quit the top time(and first to break 120 seconds) wasn't using ABS, quite unusual.

I wish they ran TTs like these more often, I always seem to enjoy them more for whatever reason.

@thiagoturbao: You need to go into the full options menu. From there you can map buttons to both open and adjust the RA menu while driving. That will let you adjust the brakes.

And I realized that the key to being fast at Grand Valley is to have very precise with The steering....

someone can say again how do I change brake bal on ds3 pls? have no idea what s RA menu?!

First you have to remap the buttons on your DS3 and assign all of the RA functions to the DS3. From your home page hit the cog (bottom left) then take "options" and scroll down to Hardware. 2nd one along is "change button assignment"

You need a button to activate/de-activate the menu ( I use L3)
Then you need buttons to select an item ( I use D-Pad up and D-Pad down)
Then you need buttons to set an item ( I use D-pad left and D-Pad right)

Once you have assigned your buttons come out of the options menu and back to your home page. Now when you go into a race and once the race has started you can activate the RA menu by pressing whatever button you assigned. Once the menu appears you can select the item you want to set then set the value.

I usually set the values then restart the race.

Hope that helps

Oh, lovely.. A stock dodge viper, understeer with oversteer. My favourite dish!

It's clearly a reaction to the hacking but jesus.. I love vipers to death just.. not stock..

At least let me customise the LSD! *whine*

This:tup:

Anyone else spent useless money? ;-)
Overview new seasonal event.
Oh yeah, Viper ACR! Have two of them already but tuned.
-> Good time to buy a new one to start tuning from the base.
Buy a new one, orange painted.
Go into event. Black one is waiting.
What the...
...was good fun anyway ;-)

I must say, this new format has brought me back on GT5.
I was hoping for something like this to happen and it did, I'm very happy because of that.

Had two sessions on Cappucino one... a short stint yesterday night, which resulted in 43.9xx and another 1h long session today, which gave me 43.510.
The only problem I'm having is my time going red for no apparent reason (lost me a 43.423 because I took 1mm of curb more than I should).

Will give Viper a go soon, great time trials!

Down to .439 now, I have 2+ tenths left in me.

It would be cool to have a replay system like they use in tennis so you can go back and see how far you were out of bounds.

Pretty sure though that half of the red laps I got were from not being off-track. I think Kart Space is not ideal of TTing on - maybe racing with karts or low-powered cars like K cars, but not for a TT.

The curbs are a little annoying, you just need to know how many mm of curb you can take. It took me quite a few laps to figure that out. I wish I could draft Amo's ghost, then I might be able to catch him. That first sector is my nemesis.

P4 -43.172

Take that doodle. :)

I'm just kidding around.

Well I've finally figured out the last sector on GVS-R and I'm down to 2'00.405, with the fastest time possible :) It is very tricky to get that lap though but I'm improving all the time :)

Yeah, you need to go faster though, the top spot is now 1'59

Good luck 👍

Messed up plenty of good splits, best of which was a low .4 at T2, which would've given me a .2 time...
Down to .343 atm, I have a sub 43 in me (if I count my best splits).

Just got a 43.136 to take your P4, right behind L-Shooter.

Take that :P

Ha ha ha, Nice! 👍

Maybe if I figure out that first sector I can jump back in front of you, I don't know if I have the patience though. I haven't looked at sector times, but I'm pretty sure I lost most of the time in the first two corners.

Just bumped you out of 5th with a 43.169 :P  This is so addictive!

This will be a fun fortnight, I have just got the gold at the speedway on my 4th lap with a 2:07.623, reckon i can shave off another few seconds with some more practice.

Just taken off another second on my 4th lap of my second session, now at 2:06.612, gonna go for a few more laps tonight still.

Got a 46.000, after a few laps on kart space yesterday, might give that another try shortly too.

Down to .116 which is good enough for P3.
I have a sub 43 in me (I choked so hard on this lap, lost 1 tenth in last sector).
