Am I retarded??

Ran 15 mins with this car after a couple of ciders and did the scruffiest 1:57 I've ever seen.

I probably won't do better than a 1:55, but I've got to say.. I love this car.. No one else..?..no..

..ok I'll just leave
Haha im at 1.54.1 and i know i should be in 53s, i actually love the car and track combo...

First time ever trying this time trial, first two laps invalidated due to slightly going off track, and on the third lap pulled a 1:56.102, to put me in 474th place worldwide 👍

Managed to get a silver after a couple of fast but red laps , just need to string mid section together flawlessly and stop braking so hard for the last 2 corners to get the Gold.. Fun track and car combo

Woooo!

1:53:939 and im pretty sure i dropped a tenth in the last two corners at least but its about time!!

Sect 1: 17.1
Sect 2: 57.7
Sect 3: 1:27.2

There's another DS3 warrior in there named Sawada_Yoko-1992 who's also dangerously close to 53 with a 1:54:128(only .004 behind my previous time). I hope he/she makes it too

Played GT6 for the first time since 1.06, tried this TT and I kinda regret I ever pulled out my PS3 from my closet. What a car...:indiff: Wasted no time putting it away to the stockyard.

What a shame, all I needed was a custom suspension and this car could have been one of my favourite.

I bought a Aston Martin for $1M and I can put custom GB and suspension, great! This car is a drift machine, isn't it?lol

But it doesn't have that V8 engine sound the promotion video said it would have. Is it only me? It was supposed to have V12 engine anyway so the car's exhaust note is an outright lie.

Did my first real attempt of hot lapping in a long time in GT, car is quite fun to drive once you get used to it. It is hard to get a good lap together on this track with this car though, a couple of tricky corners make a big difference to lap time. I know I got the pace to get into the 1:52's, just need to get a lap together. Happy at least I got top UK spot at time.

Oh, boy. What a crock of 🤬

I was really excited about this car when I first heard about it, but turns out it's the most unpleasant thing to drive :guilty:

On the TT, I really wanted to push for me best possible time. There's so much laptime below 2:00.000 (as illustrated by others..) but there's no way I'm going to stay out there looking for it. The thing's a dog. Collected my gold, chose my colour scheme, stockyard. Awful.

@daveyhero surely extracting the very most from the most difficult car and yourself is going to delevelop you even more as a driver.

Driving easy grippy cars is child's play compared to pulling an awesome time from a handful of a car

Nice suggestion, but developing myself as a driver isn't my goal. To me it's just a video game, I play it to have fun. I'm disappointed because I expected the FT-1 race car to deliver that, and it sure didn't :boggled:

Some of the other seasonal, hot laps, overtaking races, inspire me to extract the most out of the car (and course) because I find it enjoyable doing so. Can I win with -50PP? -100PP? CS? Can I tune something to hit a certain lap time? If its fun, I'll find out. For me, personally, this car was not fun.

Had another quick session and chipped another tenth off... 1'54.137.

I now know I can run a mid 53, but doing it will be tricky... for me, this car is very difficult to drive as you can't trail brake (which is my style) and once it starts pushing, there's nothing you can do but wait for the inevitable crash

It's strangely addictive though!

I'm right there with you! I started doing the whole downshift midcorner rotate technique and now I am SURE that I can put down a 1:53.6-.7xx! I hit a dirty 1:53.820 because i went a little too wide and grazed a barrier in the uphill

Maybe even a 1:53.5xxx if I execute the lap perfectly

Update: Ok just barely missed my goal with a 1:53:817 :). I nailed it all but the last two corners. They were about 85-90%.

Im still stuck at 1.54.010.... Constantly getting within hundredths and thousandths... It refuses to let me have a 53 :(... Frustrating because at certain points im 1, 2 or sometimes 3 tenths up and slowly it dwindles away as i exit the final bend :(

I feel your pain! Had two laps where i hit sector 3 with a 1:27.0 and 1:26.9. Would have landed a 1:53.6 at the slowest both times but i spun the first one AFTER the final corner and the second one I was too conservative and ended up with a 1:53.830.

started to get a little frustrated

I did manage to pull off some pretty awesome times for sector 1 though!(Somehow I manged to hit a 16.9:D)

I do believe that a DS3 alien could probably pull off a 1:52:9xxx at the absolute fastest. I'm still shooting for a 1:53.5 as I just want to reach my max

Just hitting that 53 would breathe a new lease of motivation in me... Getting tired of it now. Done hundreds of laps... Averaging 1.27.2 at the final sector. Normally have a very good corner at end of back straight but a very hit and miss final corner. Tend to run in to deep majority of time

Do you shift to 4th for the final corner of keep 3rd? I usually keep third but for some reason i shifted up to 4th which TOTALLY threw off my timing for braking on the 1:26.9 lap.

Ive tried allsorts mate... Generally staying in 3rd, only dropping to 2nd gear, using 2nd gear on the first corner too.... Watched various replays, noticed wolf gets perfect rotation much like immortal and always drops to first.... I think one of my main problems is the 3 vital corners at top of the hill... The 2 fast sweeping left handers and the corner where u just lift after the hairpin, leading onto those 2... Never hitting all 3 corners at the max speed or perfect line to maintain the speed... I seem to struggled most with the line through the first sweeping one... Never consistent there... Looking at where ive been with my sector times i know a 53.6/7 shiuld be possible but hitting 54.0 dead constantly seems to be a plateau.... Or indeed the limit of my ability... I might just be too stubborn to Admit it lol sigh

That is definitely the trickiest part mostly because of how this car is setup. There are lots of bumps that can easily throw you off your line.

Noticed quite a bit today haha... Just having a lazy day turning in and my right foot seems have an obsession with jezza and just demands power :/

*15 minutes later after a good cool off...

1.53.892 :D

It's hard not to get frustrated on this combo!!

Just gave it a first good session and came out with a 1:55.6.. Which is pretty disappointing as my aim is top 100 in TT's. I'll be lucky if I see top 500 with that!!

Ahh well. There's always tomorrow

My aim was top 10.... Always have extremely high ambitions lol 41st atm and it took a hell of a lot to get there.... Even my wheels now calibrating with a slight wobble after many HARSH lap invalidations and my fist :D

Niiiiice! Pretty comfortable looking 53 you got there:tup:.

I might have to take a break until tomorrow. My mind is all over the place trying to figure out how I pulled a 16.9 sect 1 and 57.3 sect 2.

I've lost my momentum :(

I gained a chunk of time going into the tight hairpin at the top of the hill, powered up a bit earlier without losing any traction, id say the rest of lap was as fast and tidy as iv done... Haha dont worry about it, iv drove slower for the last 2 days since i set that 1.54.0 then bang a 53.8 lol... 8 days to go mate, see if one of us gets that 53.5 :)

Just did a 1:56.191 for 681th in the rankings about 1 hour ago with the DS3 default setup(right analog stick: accel/brake), ABS:1, TC off, Active steering off. High 1:55s possible with this control setup. FT1 VGT is a good car, just needs to be thrashed a bit to show it's potential.:)

Don't have the patience to run long sessions in this car, so having to work it out slower than usual.

1'53.715 (37th for now)

Just managed to download Pirata's replay... fantastic lap

I had to check like 3 times to makes sure I didn't accidentally have ABS on with this car.

EDIT: Hey MadMax you mentioned the FT-1 VGT has a KERS system which makes me wonder if it's an always on thing or button activated like the Nissan 2020? If it is the button type does it do anything in this TT?

I'll give it a try later tonight but wanted to see if you (or anyone else) knew off hand so I can save myself the time if it's already been tested. 👍
