So I spent about 30min earlier today running the Eiger trial in my Evo. Figured out a nice tune, and am consistently running 1:08s. I'm currently sitting about 1200th. I am just wondering about you top guys, any specific tips for the switchbacks going down the mountain? Running against ghosts and I lose time there quite a bit.

@ TerraHorn

Mate, fantastic Lap. Interestingly, your set-up is very different to mine. Will for sure give that a go. But even with a different tune, 1:06.1 is an absolutely super hotlap.

I tried for soo long just to get 1:06.8 The best I could get from the first sector is 28.1 still 0.5seconds from the current leader Amo_Racing87 who is abnormally fast.

Keep is going mate, if you're good enough for 27th, you stand a chance of topping a top 10 place, go for it 👍

Down to 1:41.187 and I can still get another half second in some sections, before blowing it somewhere else.
I note the leaders are using the RX8.

Aloha friends. Here is my setup for Eiger Nordwand (based on old Yinato setup). Atm on 27th place (01:06.183). Setup has at least 0.2 sec room for improvement.

Shift early (power curve). Use 1th gear on first 2-3 corners for back roll.

can't get the gears cos my car is 0.0km whats the max speed set as so i can match it up

I messed this up by doin an oil change in my mitsubishi I don't think it was beneficial. Sucks that I can't buy another one from the OCD. I was wondering if I sell it will that enable me to buy another one?

Send me a friends request (GTP_Stotty)... Mine's on share with no oil change.

Don't sell it as you'll have to wait for another to pop up in the UCD.

Thanks Stotty i will have a bash with it :) I will put my Subaru on share if anybody wants a go. It's good for a 105.9 but for those extra few tenths I think the Mitsubishi corners slightly better.

Setup im using also drives a bit differently in corners before and after tunnel. Second one for example i come in in fifth, lose gas, touch brake just a bit. Back of the car slides and slows the car down. Than i use gas as much as i can (2 quick or 2 much and you are flying out). On this corner i think im faster than top dogs. Btw i drive with Vincho's ghost.

If u are runing 1:06.8 with 0.5 gap on first sector u are fast. On my fast lap i have 0.4 gap there. So go for it ;)

Btw just a small change on my setup. Rear chamber: 0.8, Rear toe: -0.12, brakes 6,5. New time is 1:06.005 :).

Never ending story with gears. I have no idea how i did it - but did try with fresh one (reset). Car is as fast as with my original. Just do a classic thing - max speed, gears (match them as close as possible) than final gear.

Here are 2 interesting pics. My original gearbox.

New gear box... look at the difference in both pictures second gear is shown...

Big thanks for the tune TerraHorn. I got a 1:05.85 at first and then after changing the downforce to 5 in the front and rear, I dropped another tenth to a .74 for the current 11th place. My best sector 1 is less than 2 tenths slower than Amo and after that I'm a bit faster so I think a low .5 or a high .4 is possible right now. 👍

Also, I think on the next set of TT's I will start to use my G27. I've been using it recently in online lobbies and cruises and it's by far a lot more fun. Maybe even after a month or two I will consistently get top 10's and top 5's if I improve enough :)

Had another run at this this morning and I got 1.09.344 :)

Best I've ever gotten on a time trial, and that was using the lancer super rally car or whatever it's called :)

ScrepRC; GTP_Stotty; Any chance to share their setups?

Here's what I have so far... It's not easy to drive as it has understeer in the faster corners and traction issues on exits, but the 8 is still faster than the 7 for me. Probably not a car for most pad users as it requires some quite precise throttle applications. I'm as fast as Amo in T1 and 3, but lose time in T2 and 4.

I'll spend some more time on it over the week.

I hope you get into the top 10 so I can chase your ghost :) I am also using TerraHorns tune (thanks), did the same with the down-force as you have but still more than a second off. Changed the breaking to 5-6, trying to have the back turn a little when breaking.

I am also using a G27 but I believe it is not always an advantage, the 900 degrees steering gets into the way at times. The first few tight corners at this track are easier with a stick i believe.

Good luck getting into the top 10 👍

I am no using my own tune and the person who made it requested to not share with anyone else. Sorry guys.

Thats it for me on the RX 7 TT.

38TH at the moment, 1:39.044 cars online, send friends request if you want to try !

Time for a go with the rally car :)

Using 'pmjg's loaner RX7. Thought I'd just have a few goes with it before I try the dirt track.

Brought my time down to 1:41.022.

Can't let it go now until I crack a 1:40 something sec time. Hopefully.

There will propably be a trick behind that,as allways...:indiff:
Don't get me wrong,I know it's all in the limits of the game, and there's surely no cheating involved.
And ofcourse you don't get into the top 25 by itself, there is some serious steering involved.
It's just the fact not everyone has a personal tuner,or a car with insane milage en filthy mud instead of oil in the engine :dopey:

That's competiton.....I would be also happy if i get a tune from a top3 driver...but i understand that they dont tell it....and in this case, thanks to everyone who shares his tune..or helps me....like cbastjan, rhodriewilliams, stotty, jk83....and sorry to the others i forgot....:dopey:

Thanks for posting... had a proper run with the wheel this morning and got down to a 1:05.839, 18th for now (with probably another 0.2 in it for me)

The tune I posted above might not be top of the leaderoards, but I'm currently sat in 13th with it, only 0.07 off the top 10. It's a brand new car, so anyone can buy and build it and it's fast enough to compete if you're a good enough driver 👍

If you're struggling to get enough lock on using a G27, you're pushing the front too hard... I never need more than 180* of wheel rotation, even on the tightest hairpins. Try a slower entry and concentrate on the exits :)

But aliens, dont be scared, also with your tune i would never beat you....hahaha

Good time stotty in the rx 👍

Might have a try in the rx8 later, think there is more potential with the supercharger bolted on :)

Yes,I understand.
Thanks for sharing your set-up by the way 👍
And all the others who are willing to share cars/set-ups,a big thanks allso.
It usually helps me to gain a couple of tenths :)
The dirty oil story referred to the GSX and the 2J actually.

Thanks for the setup man! :tup:Your setup on the NSX TT worked nicely for me as well so I have high hopes for this one.

Thanks for your kind, Stotty. I will give this a shot later.
I Really appreciate it.

Lol, there is no trick involved believe me..more people on top100 is using my friend´s tune and it is just a question of respect towards the person who gave me the tune and wants to keep it between only his friends list. If I have the chance to help people here on GTplanet I will do it gladly :)

tyvm all guys for your help ....i know that you work very hard with cars tuning ....for the others that they think that a good tune is a top secret remember that gt5 is just a game ...nothing more..tyvm for your time
gkrrrrrrrrr my evo is in 815 place i ll kill my ds3 lol

The dirty oil story referred to the GSX and the 2J actually.

I did a test during suzuka gsx with clean v dirty oil and it was only worth 0.150-.2max
set up was far more important

Congratulations, i would be proud to accomplish such a performance with ds3. I think in the past there were aliens that were faster with stick than any driver on a Wheel.
