Same goes for saying Yank when not everyone in America is from the Northeast/New England.

I feel like know Americans are completely uneducated about the difference between England, Great Britain, and the United Kingdom.

Why are the New York Yankees called the Yankees but they aren't from an area in New England?

Also, you know that all Americans are uneducated, huh? Have you polled them all? Because you'll find that you'd be wrong. Some of us are anglophiles, just an FYI. Not all Americans are as stupid as your stereotype suggests. But I guess suggesting that we are proves nothing more than you fitting your own stereotype.

Ken's post reminds me of something I heard the other day:

-Having a college education does not make one smart. You can have a masters degree in rocket science, but if you don't know how to do simple tasks in day to day life, your "smart person education" won't go very far.

EDIT: Ironic, a college student, myself, I just typed "you're" as in "I like your shirt." See what I mean?

EDIT 2: Notice all the misspelled words I had in this post, too?

One of my mom's friend has a good 3.5 GPA from top university. And yet he dont have a job to this day.

And he passed college 10 years ago.

Corrections as noted and Walmart's always hiring.

He dont want crappy jobs like that. Not on his level he said.
He'd rather have no job than a "crappy" job. There's that 3.5 GPA intelligence for ya.
He'll try so hard applying on high level jobs but no use so far.
I've been on numerous hiring committees and had to read through an obscene number of resumes. If I came across his and saw that he had been out of work for the last 10 years and wasn't doing something substantial to account for the time, he's going in the not-a-chance pile.

Out of curiosity, how old is he and what's his degree in?

Which is kinda the original point. Even if you're intellectually great, have no life skills can screws you. You'll eventually face an unpredictable life regardless.

30 something and on IT degree. He actually start to sell things online though recently and as a helper for some small private photocopier. But still.

He tried having his own Computer fixing business 5 years ago but almost no customers.

They are called the Yankees because Yankees post-Civil War times were Northerners/a part of the Union.

I didn't mean all Americans were uneducated. But, come on, most Americans are pretty uneducated on foreign things. Probably because because most people just don't care. But, sorry, I definitely did not mean all Americans.

Having sex with your step-sisters is totally fine.
Having sex with anyone who can and does consent is fine - including, but not limited to your sister, nephew, grandmother, or grandson. Note - anyone wanting to go into detail on the topic could consider posting in what effectively became the general incest thread.

Personally, I'm sick of people supporting/not supporting things topically rather than on all-encompassing principles. A lot of people speak as if they support gay marriage based on principle, but all the while hold on to ill-fitting negative views on intrafamilial marriage, and polygamist marriages, for example. Hypocrites.

Mexican cuisine is the best in the world.

If you cook Mexican for a while everything else will taste boring and stale. There is no turning back.

Black Magic Woman!

This thread should be renamed "The General Arguments Thread".

...or the Music forum.

This is usually oft-repeated by those who couldn't afford a college education, didn't want a college education, or are just jealous at the opportunities a college education can provide. These are the same folks who say things like "common sense isn't so common anymore" at every little thing they hear about. It's a smug comment with a bunch of pithy self-validating nonsense..."common sense" is a largely relativistic concept.

Nobody's perfect at anything, and I can say with certainty that nobody is great at everything. Everyone drops the ball from time to time.

Except for the fact that people likes to talk about negative aspects of people.

And those negatives are basically forever known compared to the neutral or positives.

Shed light unto shadows. Unfortunately, it's easy to be a bystander because the solitary journey is the rougher road*.

* Damned if it isn't more fun, though.

Because evolution has taught us negatives are fore more important than positives. Thats the only way to survive in a dangerous malevolent world such as this, learning from other peoples bad experiences and being aware of the dangers that surround us.

Perfect example: I never seem to remember the few positive newspaper articles but boy, I remember all the bad and terrible ones for sure. Most people are like that.

Anyway, unpopular opinion inbound:

I think six packs / razor-sharp abs look a little silly. (on both genders) I do like and totally prefer fit bodies over ''normal'' untrained bodies but there is something weird about having a ton of bumps on your mid section.

I think this may have been said before but these blocky bright coloured pastelish interfaces that became all the rage circa 2011/12 are terrible. Never once have I enjoyed looking at a button, app icon, area, or anything really. The previous "era's" sort of shinier, you can tell there's a light source and where there's less light, interfaces were much nicer to look at. I never have updated my ipod to 7.0 or higher and anytime I go into it for music or something I have a sigh of relief basically because it just looks so much better. The new PS4 interface looks worse than it did before and it really wasn't nice before 4.00.

Just blegghh.

I think the PS4 interface looks a lot better in my opinion. It looks much more cleaned up and nicer. Blows the old one out of the water.
