Update 1.03 (Released - January 14th)

I'm old enough to remember the days when games and software were released full of bugs that never would or could be fixed. Word processors that couldn't print or save, games that froze half way or wouldn't start, arcade machines which developed their own glitches. Hint: It was way before the "I want, no I shall have!" generation and their stealth social media skills came around...

The fact that developers release patches at all should be applauded. Consoles prior to the PS3 and XBOX 360 did not offer this feature at all. Game creators could have opted for perfection at first release, but that is impossible with todays games. My moto: Enjoy what works and hope for a future fix.

PS. If any bugs in any game software are threatening enough to ruin ones life, one need to quit gaming.
I'm old enough to remember those days too... and the products you speak of were garbage.. In that same period of time, PD produced some amazingly complete software. Not anymore.

I'm beginning to think that this tire "Bug" is a hoax. So you're 2 seconds slower? Maybe you're driving slower. I don't think that everybody gets the exact same lap time for ever lap, pit stop or not. At least I'm not a robot and can do that. Or maybe I am misunderstanding what everyone is blathering about.

There is other non subjective evidence, such as rear tire wear compared to the front tire wear, compared to the first set of tires.

Ok, I haven't noticed it. Maybe others have. I think the placebo effect comes full swing in these threads. It's pretty funny. But to stay on topic, I think it was a great little update and am looking forward to more

I have played all GT games and GT 6 physics kick all other incarnations where the sun does not shine. First 4 where offline games with no need to waste resources on online servers and management, way less time spent modelling and way lower overall cost. GT5 was the same patch-o-rama we are witnessing now in GT6. More features=more work=more sources for error=more complaints.

Game doesn’t update car view in aero-shop. I installed all stock, but game still was showing my car with aero parts installed.

Yeah physics and gfx are way better. No one would argue that. That makes it even more frustrating that PD cannot code a less buggy, or more complete game these days. We have better physics and gfx, and a less well thought-out and shorter career mode to use those gfx and physics.

Also the amount of bugs and other problems has increases dramatically. I know you will say programming is more complicated these days, and it is, but that is no excuse. PD needs to do more beta testing, period. They also need to either hire more people, or mange the company better, or do whatever else it takes to do better in those areas.

Even they would agree with that if they were honest with themselves.

So in 1.03 I tested two things so far.

I tested top speed the of Ford GT - limited the thing to 330HP and reached 333km/h. Not limited (550hp) it goes to near 400km/h.

Cars do front flips and wheelies under braking (Matterhorn) - not fixed.

Post of the day.

I race with plenty of Pro's every weekend and even they know about the tire bug. When they are 2 seconds off pace after making a pit stop, something is wrong.

Driving slower is one thing, but no be able, by any chance, to get even closer to the times achieved in the first stint is, to say the least, odd. Besides, the new tyres lasts for much shorter time.

Try for yourself.

First time for me. Never saw this bug before.

I see it from time to time. I have to quit that menu then go back in to have the picture show with the kits off. Sometimes if you select a wing, then select stock, the wing will disappear but the wing support bases will still show on the car.

I have beta tested loads of software in my life, but have yet to meet anyone clairvoyant enough to forsee every possible scenario of user behavior. PD have the best beta testers right here in these forums and despite the hiccups most players, me included, have been able to lap a few cars around the tracks offered.

Using paying customers (us) as beta testers? Ok, now your proving my point for me.
There are obvious bugs that never get fixed as well.. That's just not cool.
They are better than a lot of companies out there that produce video games. I will give them that.

Iagree with you bud as you ddo pass some of the Ai racers with no problems at all and game will get better I should think when sort all updates etc that is needed ;):

I say Prologue, GT betatesting is done this way. GT6 is first in long time without prologue if GT5 is not counted as one i guess. PS im old enough too :)
Know that many games were great without patches. but since consoles got connected a game can be released sooner than it's really ready. And this has to do with the enormous investment a game takes today with lot of investors waiting to get their money back.

This game is ruined for me as of 1.03. The only races I do now are the 15 minutes races in IA and the S events. Every single time on the last lap the game suddenly thinks I'm in 14th,15th or 16th place.

Once I cross the finishing line it puts me in the correct position, then shows me in the correct position in the results screen and then gives me the money for 14th, 15th or 16th place.

Strange things happens today, i guess the update is the one to blame, none of them were there before...

The most important one: in online lobby, we started qualifying session with "alone race" setting (or what is called in english, i mean the setting which we run qualifying laps all together but can't see anyone else in track), after the end of session the classification screen was fine, with the correct place for everyone based on their lap time, but in starting grid we were placed in wrong positions... for example, i had the 6th qualifying time and put me in last place on starting grid, or someone qualified 3rd place him last... :boggled:

This happend repeatedly, at least 10 times in a row...

Online championships, right now is just a joke, simply impossible to organise something reliable... :(

(obviously, english is not my native language, so i hope what i wrote make sense)

In all seriousness, how are you supposed to drive an MR versus a FR? I assume the main issue is having all that extra weight in the middle/back, but how does that translate to driving differently from a FR? My messed up logic tells me it should have better traction with more weight on the "driving" tires and better balance overall, no?

a little off topic

More grip when under load, less grip when off throttle and it makes the rear end want to come around under braking and mid corner lift. A little harder to catch a slide. Under load meaning under acceleration. I find you have much better results with a MR car is you are always applying a little bit of throttle in corners. Its a fine line and a delicate dance, but you know when you got it right. Try getting back on the gas just slightly after getting off of the brakes and going into through and out of a turn.

Easter egg, new feature, or whatever it may be, but I entered my X2014 Junior in the Spa 24 Minute race and the grid changed to a one-make race! This seems to be new to 1.03~

Checking the other events where the X2014 can enter, the grid even changes for 24 Minutes of Le Mans and also when you downtune the car to 650PP, Nurburgring 24 Minutes! I can't tell of the opposition is also downtuned or not; still, very cool!

Ah come on, so now it's normal we get a unfinished/ bug ridden game and we should be thankful that they are willing to patch it? In all the years i've been playing games (let's say 20), i've never experienced such a thing and that goes back to the days of the megadrive cartridges.

Funny how negative points about this game either get blamed on hardware restrictions, or other products that were actually worse. Desperate attempts in my ears to apologize PD as the incompetence is clearer than ever before to everyone.

I think that's because the X2014 is now in its own category

It works in those modes, but online and free run it does not work and the brake bias values go back to default.
In fact, then in no way is something wanted by Poliphony but a bug.
My retorical question was to is300_dino who thinked that just sportcars should change brakebias by RA.
