Rockstar has 1,000 employees and took 8 years to make a game.I will say it again... They claim 300 people.
Given that they are reusing so much, and that the iteration from GTS to GT7 is barely what one would expect from an annual release, much less that it has been 5 years, what are they doing?
GT5 needed a new engine for Ps3 and it had a ton of high res cars, and game play content.
GT6 was half intended for PS4 and they claim that the engine was updated to be PS4 ready. But, it had less overall than GT5.
GTS didn't even have single player at launch.
Now, five years later, we have GT7 which is a barely updated version of GTS, but certainly not a 300 person game.
So, are you suggesting, that 300 people have been working on GT8 since the launch of GTS in 2017, with the knowledge that their game will see the light of day, potentially, in 2025/2026? Are suggesting that 240 people (80% of the team, with the other 20% on live development) are working for 8 or 9 years on GT8?
GT8 would have to be the most epic racing game ever created.
Maybe they should have worked on this one instead.
Granted, it's one of the greatest games of all time, but... it took 8 years.
