Do you want to know why we are only getting 3 cars? Because this is a punishment from PD for all of us complaining and bitching about the decreasing money rewards for all the races.

Maybe if we all start bitching about only get 3 cars for each update, we might get what we want. Just remember, bitching is the key to get things done with PD.
Bitching works

Is there a possibility we will get a new car reveal in GT7? Like this third car as a comepletly new model we don't know? Cause I can't get any match to this roadster.

If PD will add only 3 new events, I will be very angry. New 3 cars and few events where we can drive it. It's so boring. I hope Kaz will hear fans and will do stuff for fans, not for himself.
+20 new events will give fans opportunity to play the game til the next update instead of grinding.
To be fair, I doubt Kaz gets to make this decision.

Someone in the biz group is in charge of post launch content.

I'm just really looking forward to seeing some returning fictional tracks. What they did with Trial Mountain (visually) is incredible, it would be nice to see some other tracks have the same big upgrade!

I didn't like Deep Forest when it was first announced, but I love driving it now. Still not a big fan of it visually, but other than that.

My life would actually be complete if they bring back El Capitan

The Oreca LMP2 car qualified in 3:24 in 2020, and the LMP1 record is at 3:15. So they are incredibly slower, and the value for money on an already nerfed LMP2 car in 2020 is staggering versus the £100m+ budgets from the manufacturers.

Bear in mind that's with an opened up Porsche curves too
The LMP1H cars in GT7 are 2016 models. Pole that year was 3.19. With the Toyota’s in the 3.21’s, and Audi in the 3.22’s. The non-hybrid Rebellion’s where in the 3.26’s.

Very minor changes in car/tyre spec, BoP, track condition etc., can gain or lose you multiple seconds per year.

Hypercar budget’s are 20% what manufacturer’s where spending in the LMP1H years. With further caps on development once homologated. Which is why so many are joining. Plus, these are cars that (in some cases) will be sold to customers.

The next generation LMP2 cars will be some 10+ seconds slower than current models. Because, quite honestly, the reg makers miscalculated what those cars where capable of. And led us to, effectively, a one-make Oreca class.

I mean this is one of the biggest concentrations of active GT players on the internet.
It's more because the Japanese seem to work differently.

Look at Miyazaki. He doesn't give a **** about the performance issues in his games. Never has, probably never will. Not much communication on FromSoftware's part either. And he doesn't have to. Everyone loves him and always rates his games highly.

Same with Miyamoto. I don't think I've ever seen him respond to feedback. But then I don't follow Nintendo much anymore. I know Smash is Sakurai's baby the same way GT is Kaz's baby and many things in Smash are the way they are because of Sakurai's unique quirks.

PD is the sole remaining Japanese studio owned by Sony and this fact highlights the cultural difference even more. Sometimes I ponder whether Jim Ryan isn't secretly waiting for Kaz to retire so he can disband PD, give Gran Turismo to another studio and finally turn it into a more casual game, maybe even create a "Horizon" version.

The number of cars is absolutely the issue and that's why the basis of an update is a teaser of what cars are being added. We must not forget what the basis of GT games are and that's a massive amount of cars. Yes tracks are the issue too, probably equally.
Sure, but to me it doesn’t matter if there’s 50 or 500 cars when there’s already nothing to do with lots of them. This game severely lacks solo events and they only added missions you get paid once for. Custom races pay garbage. They should have just ported over all the GT Sport cups with like 300 races.

Right now, the number of cars isn't the issue. There is enough to be getting to with and more will surely come. What we need is more tracks and more races.
The number of cars is absolutely the issue and it baffles me how you can try to say it isn't with such authority. One of the most important things about GT games is the large amount of cars, that's what people always hope for and that's why Kaz uses cars as a teaser as the basis for the coming updates. Tracks are equally important.

PD have shown they can't even give is quality over quantity with cars, so it's just another failure to add to the long list of this outdated development team.

The number of cars isn't the issue at all. There's nothing to do with them. Not enough races. And the races they add that are 550,000 for payout, if you try to create that in a custom race to a T, you'll get 27,000. Thanks PD! Not even mentioning why the collector level just stopped at 50. The menu book doesn't make sense anymore because now people have grinded for the cars and probably have them so it has to be completely rethought out.

No, the cars are not the issue when a bunch of them still have no use in the game and we have licenses we earned that have no use as well. Why couldn't ew start low and work up? Where are the 200PP events? I see no reason why the AI in a 200 or 300PP event couldn't be 12-15 laps worthy of 550,000 credits. GT7 seems to be a land of wasted opportunities. All for what? Just to get back to doing all Gr.3-2-1 races? This should have been thought out better. I shouldn't have been able to d licenses for races that doesn't even exist. I should have been able to choose forks in the road to develop my game the way I chose. Instead I was forced to do quick menu books to unlock stuff and the next thing you know I was having Rally cars thrown at me. Which, I had to buy dirt tires for for some reason. I guess that's a different story though.

I agree there should be more races but again, number of cars is more important than adding offline races. Both are important and I was replying to someone almost brushing it aside.
Out of 400 cars someone may only use 20 regularly and that number goes up the more quality and relevant cars are added. Which PD don't do so the number of regularly used cars stay low. GT5 and 6 for example I had maybe 30 or so cars I would use regularly ranging between 500pp to 700pp. I hardly touched anything slower or faster. So out of the 50 cars you wouldn't mind having, you might only use 10 of them because there's no guarantee they will be cars you want to use. You don't get to choose those 50 cars. If we could choose any 50 cars out of all the cars in the world then I would be happy too but that's not the way it works.

I admit I'm a little concerned that this update only has three cars again - though I suppose I need to account for the visual customization that may be new to some cars, like if it's really the Ferrari California in the lower-left. Besides that, I do hope this isn't indicative of future updates, and that some future updates will have far more than just three new machines.

But I digress. I'd say there's still quite a bit to look forward to that doesn't involve cars. There will likely be at least one new layout - though I found the last new layout to be somewhat disappointing - as well as new events in World Circuits. This could refer to new rounds of series that are already in the game, or it could mean all-new events, like the leaked Gr.1 and Hypercar events seen in the Fallon build. It also could mean a new mission pack, as we've seen one get added already.

EDIT: Not to mention QoL updates and bugfixes, yeah. Even ones outside of the officially-acknowledged bug list.

EDIT2: But yeah, I seriously hope we get back to more interesting Daily Races and championship rounds, as so far, I don't feel like trying out Sport Mode yet. It feels way too much like GTS, when there's a ton of potential for interesting regulations.

There's nothing to do with them? Go online. If you don't want to then that's a you problem. Yes I agree there isn't enough content but when there are online lobbies you can never say there's nothing to do.

I just read GT Planet's latest post and I came right after to thank the editors for being so positive and far away from the saltiness and bitterness you normally read at Twitter... And then I read some people's replies, ah well... The thanks still stands for GT Planet's editors, for the rest: please enjoy the game or go outside and touch some grass, it's healthy too! I have been playing the game (more than I should have), doing liveries, and taking some photos, finished the cafe, now finishing the circuit experience, and trying to beat my friends while at it. I'm waiting for the next update to further improve the game, to start competing again online (I'm A+ by the way, if anyone asks). Yes, there are wrinkles to iron, but the game is massive already...I have lots of cars that I bought, did amazing liveries and haven't even tried them out on track yet! Perhaps I'm old, I'm 40 this year, (I played GT right after my 16 birthday), but I don't get the current complaint culture. Sorry.

GT3 is one of the most highly regarded games in the series, it also had the fewest cars but one of the best thought out career modes in terms of progression and events to make good use of all of its cars. The number of cars is absolutely not the issue, of course more cars would always be welcome, but it's no good adding let's say, the Ferrari F2002 and not having a single race or championship to use it in.

The game absolutely needs more races, championships and structure.

As for the quality, the car models in GT7 are very high quality, so unsure what you are referring to when you say they can't even deliver "quality over quantity". In terms of the car models themselves, they have delivered both.

And may I also point out that 427 cars at launch still makes GT7 one of the largest games in history when it comes to sheer car count at launch. To the best of my knowledge, 4 GT games (2 of which only accomplished this by recycling previous gen assets) and 2 Forza titles have beaten that number from launch.
