In my opinion, this course maker isn't as flexible as it could've been (i.e. can't change elevation, it forces you to put corners after home straight), but it should still be great fun nonetheless.
How exactly do you make the real life track copies the same distance as real life when tracing a map?

Well the app does provide you with a scale (both in mi and km), so as long as you're able to find a circuit map with a scale, you should be able to emulate it somewhat accurately.

SVX
lol @ expectations of having a tablet 'because it's 2015'
Maybe we should have AMC time machines and hoverboards too. :)

There have been 6 new pages in the last 5 hours, anyone want to try to summarize the last 6 pages?

Well 10km max track length is a real downer. With all the talk of 10X10 km area to create a circuit in, I was expecting to be able to create far larger circuits than 10km max length.

Doesn't affect me anyway as I won't be playing GT6, but I hope they make the max length much longer for GT7. I remember the first track on my list, back when we all thought the course maker would only take a couple of months to come out, was the original Spa-Francorchamps. But, at 15km, it's 50% larger than the max you can make. :(

As someone said in the news section, it's WAY too late now. But I hope you guys who still play GT6 enjoy it. Me personally, I have lost all interest on Gran Turismo as a whole (for now...). I don't think I even have a PS3 anymore ( I don't even know where it is, lol). PCars is gaining my devotion day by day, I've clocked over 300 hours in Euro Truck Simulator 2, and I'm about to buy myself an Xbox One and Forza 6.

I'm still eager to see what PD will come up with in about two or three years from now. I still hope that GT7 will be THE one.

:odd:

Your post confounds me.

There is the first complaint.

For crying out loud, they finally give us the Course Maker...

Rejoice!

10 km round track is big enough... What?! You think your PS3 is limitless in terms of power?!

Don't push it man....
We don't know how long the tracks will take to load depending on how many trees people will decorate their tracks....

Chill out.

Yes.

  • The app is available according to timezones for those where it is Sept. 30.
  • A bunch of bickering about PC vs Tablet and a little bit about Battery Life for Tablet and Phone devices.
  • A lot of people assusming that the app will be the only way possible to make a track.
  • Screenshots of the app are appearing frequently.
  • The app is named "GT6 Track Path Editor"
  • So far only people with iPads have gotten it.

Nope, by far it wasn't the first complaint.

Why would I rejoice about them releasing a feature, which was "almost ready" at launch, which was the main reason I bought GT6 almost 2 years ago, more than 6 months after I stopped playing the game? Especially when it's much less capable than they made it sound like before GT6 released. Just like the "all new" B-Spec, this is far too little, too late.

10km circuit length might be big enough for you, but it's not even half the length of tracks already in GT6. My ps3 isn't limitless in power at all, since it died and I got rid of it ages ago.

I stated my opinion, that I was disappointed by the small maximum track length, which I'm more than entitled to, and you tell me to rejoice, then rant at me with exclamation marks, and then tell me to chill out? lol Take your own advice mate.

Trying it right now on ipad.

Interesting description on Eifel Flat:

"A flat location in Germany's lush Eifel region, but lacking the region's distinctive peaks and throughs. maps and images, GPX/KML files can be superimposed over the editor, allowing you to recreate real life routes"

Is that our "GPS thing"?

Some GPS software can generate these files, right?

You can do point to point.

Oh really? From the images in the article it looked like the circuit had to be connected. Well it's good that you can do point to points then. I stand corrected. You could do half of Pikes Peak then.
