US Gran Turismo 4 intro

amar212
IMHO they've should licence G n' R "Welcome to the Jungle" for US GT4, but Axl do not allows licencing of his music (as oppose to other members of the band who would love to do it)for any purpose whatsoever, except for AAA movies:). Smart man I must say.
Welcome to the Jungle is in GTA:SA. Hell, Axl is actually one of the DJ's on the classic rock station. Just thought I'd let you know.

I do not like famous artists on games. GTA is an exception.
Why Metallica, why? Nothing to do with GT since they are gayer day after day.

But the original GT4 OST kicks all the asses on earth. I mean the instrumental ones.
I am in favor to COMPOSE new songs for each game.

"Hey, Satriani, please play this game for two hours and compose someting heroic for us, please"
"Hey, Dream Theater, do the same, but we need 30 menu songs on 14 styles"
"Metallica, out"

I love metal, but I love DEATH metal like Possessed, Sarcofago, etc. The same way this death metal would NOT fit into GT style, u2 or metallica or whatever kids songs like LinkinPark or Eminem would not.

Gran Turismo is professional, is classy, it has its own finesse, its essence of powerful machines commanded by real gentlemen. Just like Monaco GP.

Consume your OTHER music in OTHER game. Not in Gran Turismo.

"i was born in 82, the only thing i remember from the 80s are teenage mutant ninja turtles and NWA"

I clearly remember the year you were born. ;) It's funny... I mean, I'm not *that* old, but it always shocks me when I meet people and they were born in the 80s.

The 80s rocked. I remember burning many an hour after swim practice on the 'ole SNES!

Van Halen was an awesome choice. If you guys like early VH, check out the band "Atomic Punks". Early VH tribute band - and they ROCK! Even made it out to Hawaii last year.

At the end of the day we'll all probably watch it 2 or 3 times when we get the game and then cancel it after that whatever the song is. 💡

Umm...guys...I posted exactly that about 10 posts back.

Well here it is again...

Metallica "Fuel" Version Opening Sequence

If the link goes down, I'll try and rehost.

I so totally missed that when you first posted it.. hehe. Yeah, that's pretty much what mine sounds like. Starts off slightly different, but I don't have the skill nor software to do a proper edit to the end of the song, so yours is superior to mine. :)

GT4 INTRO MOVIE PAL!!
GT4 PAL INTRO MOVIE

GETTTTTTTHHHHHHOO...

Sorry dude, but replaying the same sound of a "car engine" over and over again just doesnt fit, should of just let Vertigo play without the car sounds...

And it's not the PAL intro. It's YOUR version of the PAL Intro...

The intro with Fuel is the best one up to now...Sorry PD :guilty:

Copy that.

I actually didn't mind the music in the intro.

Can't go wrong with Van Halen.

Although, Hammer Smashed Face by Cannibal Corpse would be slightly distracting while trying to race.

This is really bothering me that I cannot see this. I click on the link (The first link on the first post) for it and it takes me to the site. But when I click "download now", it comes up with a screen that says "This page cannot be displayed". :grumpy: Anyone have another link or some suggestions on how I can see it?

Right-click, save as. My Windows Media Player is similarly hosed.

I'm really digging Panama as the intro music. I spent many an hour listening to Panama while making vroom-vroom noises with my Matchbox cars when I was 10...

I didn't think the intro was bad at all....then again I suck at being a critic. The Van Halen does give it an Americanish feel though (I would have hated this 2 years ago when I wished I was Japanese or something).

actually there is amazing amount of great music, that almost nobody knows about. game developers should ask or hire some people who Know what's music.

and i don't mean somebody who listens 'everything: pop, rock, metal, rap'
this is NOT everything
(all styles of jazz, funk, latin, soul, black/death/goth metal, punk, alternative, indie, instrumental, classical, crossover, new age, dance, IDM, trip hop, darkwave,...) when you are so experienced and had periods in your life in which you listened to ceratain genres intensively, when you identified with them, when you've listened and feeled really DIFFERENT music styles, well, then you can chosse music that is awesome and nobody heard of - and that's the point

you wouldn't believe how many great songs are out there; it's a shame that we get metallica, it make me sad, surprised and pissed!

Man...That was suprisingly good. Yes, there were points where it was obvious they didn't edit the video to that particular song, but overall, it was awesome :) I've got to say my favorite parts in it are: 1)where it looks like those guys are walking with their national flag in the prior-to-race-ceremonies 2) when the GT drops down in the pits and the music starts 3) and those brief moments where the cars can be heard...that part sounds amazing since it really does sound just like it did at Petit Le Mans this past year when I went to it... I give this intro my praise, very nice 👍

A few things
1) for those wanting to click the "pal gt4 intro" link...don't bother, it's just "vertigo" by u2...I love the band, but song doesn't fit.
2) major props to granturismo1 (?) for making the "Fuel" version of the intro by metallica. That was amazing. Seriously, if you haven't seen it, look it up a few pages back.
3) The Japanese intro just doesn't seem to cut it (imo), although it doesn't have words to get in the way...it's just...well Japanese rock. Which is cool for their release, but I don't think it's the "ultimate" intro
4) To those saying the opera doesn't fit well with the rock song, my impression is that is the point, to contrast the delicate details of preparing for "battle" with the intensity of whoopin-@ss on the track.
5) someone way back suggested "kick-start my heart" as a song...but I think we all got enough of that one in gt3
*My suggestion is that you download whatever version you like the best (japanese, Metallica, or make your own) and watch it several times, THEN when you have the real game, just don't watch it, and pretend the real intro is the one you've been watching.
Lastly, to any PD/SCEA people out there, Van Halen was a step in the right direction, but in future choices, please be sure to pick another classic/time-tested band and song (so we can avoid any more lenny kravitz problems). Thanks
That's my $.02 or more

Cheer up! the metallica intro is only one that a gtp user created. The real version is by van halen "panama"...don't know if you'll like that one better, but hopefully so.

OMG,

Just watched the US opening.

It is the thing that MOST SUCKS in the whole universe. Ammm... no. George Bush sucks more. But it is HORRIBLE anyway.

Thanks to my self that i bought Japanese version to listen and US to read.
if you people in other countrys would worry about your own screwed up governments instead of bi*ching about ours, you might have a country thats good enogh to the point when you wont care whose running our country.

Damn, i've got a copy of the intro movie sitting on my computer with "America, **** yeah!" edited in (someone asked for it earlier in the thread). Nowhere to host it though :(

BS. Metallica was around long before Linkin Park. Metallica is not a kiddie band. Metallica, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, hell even AC/DC would be sweet in GT, IMO.

BTW, never compare or put Metallica in the same category as Eminem.

Oh, and Possessed is not great. 👎

I am not even a Van Halen fan, and I love this intro. I like the Japanese intro just as much.

And all you whiners, this NA intro has audio of those crazy fast LeMans cars going by, the Japanese version didn't. I don't know about you people, but that is the real music for my ears.

Actually, I think it did, and those aren't really LeMans cars. Or at least the Skyline isn't, and I'm not sure about the Alfa Romeo.

I am not talking about the clip of the cars coming out of the pit lane. A few clips after there is a 787b, Nissar R89(not sure about the name), some Bently, and Audi, and then a Minolta car of some make. Those babies fly bye with the engines roaring!!! There was no sound for that clip in the Jappy version.

Eye watering beauty!! :scared:

OH!!! Ok...Yes, the NA version did have them. However, whoever edited the NA version should have tried to keep those, but I guess it wasn't possible.

Still, the Metallica one is awesome. 👍

And I feel sorry for you PAL users. The intro really is bad.
