Let's see:

1 - 500 current gen cars. Diverse lineup so that I don't need Standard Cars to enjoy the game and I don't notice their absence should they be gone from the game.
2 - Bigger grid sizes, looking for the right compromise between quality of detail and grid. This is a racing game, not a "Photograph That Lug Nut!" game.
3 - More tracks than ever, but most importantly, different tracks as opposed to different layouts of the same track. I'd rather have three different tracks than three different layouts of the same track, it just gets boring after a while to see the same scenery over and over again.
4 - A fantastic off-line Career Mode, with many events, different regulations, and so on.
5 - Rules and penalties.
6 - Good AI (wishful thinking) that makes me want to improve, as opposed to "JUST DRIVE A WORSE CAR BRO" difficulty.
7 - More in-depth customization system, including livery system.
8 - Good Course Maker that gives us ability to import and export assets, like meshes and textures.

All of these sans point 7 & 8 should have been part of GT5 to begin with, in my opinion, to live up to Gran Turismo 4.

And to reiterate, once again: gives us a good Career Mode for a change, PD. Grinding is the worst part of Gran Turismo, it has always been. Back in GT4 and the Rally races at Costa Di Amalfi to get that Toyota rally car which you could sell for 265K, grinding is the one thing that tells you "something is very, very wrong with this game".

We should be able to buy what we want without resorting to grinding all the time. But it doesn't help that the AI is awful and we can't even enjoy racing sometimes.

I was playing gt6 today..some..on ps3.wheel,whole thing.I want like Porsche,to be there..Mclaren p1,and for v8 cars to thunder like they should.I like the online updates and challenges..I am not good at drifting, but if the rally style stuff, gets better and not so fake..then I think it wil b fun.

A full grid of V8 Supercars. The Nissan Altima is doing good, T10 and Microsoft have stopped sponsoring DJR Team Penske since Ambrose left. It's about that time.

I don't have too high of standards going into this, mostly I'd very much like to see a good number of modern Euro cars. Preferably for Koenigsegg to make an appearance (hopefully Porsche too), as well as an overall increase in the number of cars for most of the existing manufacturers.

Aside from that, I'd much appreciate A LOT of universal personalization in the single-player aspect. Being able to control the environments, the number of opponents, grid starting position, etc. GT6 was just so limited in this aspect.

Since GT:S has the FIA involved, one thing that would make an absolute guaranteed purchase is custom championships/events.

Ideally it should be as detailed as a real FIA Series:
Ability to choose what car each AI driver uses
Set up each event including practice/qualifying, race distance, max AI cars, rules (yellow flags/safety car), mandatory pit stops (or disable them) & endurance rules (Races over 24 minutes long with dynamic fuel & tyre wear and time & weather progression to simulate a 24 hour race).
Points systems & weight penalties

Being able to create a championship that generates in-game prize money would be a great addition. It's hard to feel the realism when you get nothing, or 1k for winning a race, a la previous GTs with custom races.

I picked other. The only thing that would make it a must buy for me is if it is the most realistic online racing experience of all the sims including PC which I know it will not be so I think there is no chance of it being a must buy.

On the other hand if there is any false advertising or claims made I think I will throw it in the must not buy basket because I'm getting fed up with false advertising and claims being made. Make a good product and sell it for what it is with no BS thanks.

I'm only really interested in seeing how GTSport turns out. It would be crazy for GT7 to be a departure from the series and I am not a fan of watered down driving games these days, I'm only interested in realistic racing simulation and the GT series really is the worst of the watered down driving games with things like standard cars and the focus on quantity over quality. I'm hoping for GTSport to be a departure from that model with a focus on realistic competition and racing simulation on the console and if it is I'll buy a PS4 for it but considering all the sims I own that I don't play and the fact the only one I actually play is iRacing these days because the rest are substandard in my opinion I might be hopeful of a challenger to iRacing coming along but I doubt it and I really doubt it will come from PD. The only reason I'm crossing my fingers that PD will come good with GTS is the FIA partnership.

AI, more cars, fixing aero-drag resistance in not racing cars, having endurance racing again, damage that needs in-game credit to be fixed, custom races and more driving-aspect cameras are my priorities.

More European hatchbacks or BTCC, DTM and WTCC cars. Also it would be cool if as a special wing that had that little bar at the back that would be found on WRC or front-wheel drive touring cars.

The choice between left or right hand drive in certain road cars.

More rear wing customisation and it would be cool if the different options for it actually affected the airflow instead of all the rear wings doing the exact same. Painting the rear wings should also allow for different colours between the stays, winglets and the actual wing itself.

Fix the PP system, tyre models, top speeds, AI and penalty system. I've had enough of people only running RS tyres and gaining an advantage over RH and RM users, even at 100% rain, RS tyres are better than IM or HW. The penalty system should be a bit like F1 2014's one, but better and more realistic.

I personally don't mind the Standard cars but lowering the number and turning them into Premium cars. There is one model that has an exact duplicate, name and everything, not even a slight difference as with most cars.

Safety and pace cars need to be added and maybe have a race control mode where you call the flags and send out the pace car and drive it. This would be useful in online championship races. While I'm on the topic of the safety car, terminal damage should be added too, as well as fixing damage in the pits (almost like WRC 4).

Have a limit to how many tyres you can have in the race by sets or actual tyres. For example the MSA Formula only allows 6 tyres throughout an entire race weekend, or use the system Formula 1 currently uses, as it actually works.

And on the topic of Formula 1, multiple qualifying sessions with the above tyre system should be implemented as well as multiple races and support races, like the BTCC.

The rally physics are a joke. Enough said. To add to that, whenever I run into gravel, why does the traction control automatically turn on? If I selected for it to be off, I generally don't want it back on at all.

More players online. 16 just isn't enough and lobbies were full back when GT6 was released and all the way through GT5 if I remember correctly. Before anyone says that the connection needs improving, just remember it's not PD's fault that this is happening. PSN is generally full and most games get the lag.

And just as a small factor; bring back Feeder. Everyone I know who has played Gran Turismo 3 or 4 has mentioned Buck Rogers, Seven Days in the Sun, Just a Day and Shatter to be among the best songs in the entire series. The dubstep and house songs can go. 'Sweden' is a joke and the main reason why I turned the music off.

I'm hoping it matches quality/content of Forza 6, if not exceed it. That way, I won't need to get an Xbox. I really don't want to buy another console. I'll wait for gameplay footage of GT7, and if it looks good I won't be getting Forza. If it doesn't, I will get an Xbox hopefully at a lower price then.

Even if they did everything I voted on and the other options I couldn't, that wouldn't even guarantee a purchase out of me, and it's simply due to how many critical mistakes they've been making for about 6-7 years now. I'd still wait to see reviews and demos and overall operation before I dive in and give them money again.

If they release GT7 as close to the end of the console generation as they seem to be shaping up to do (even if we assume GT Sport definitely releases this year, how many years further out does that put GT7 proper? Two? Three?), I probably won't buy it at all; simply because by that point unless I already have a PS4 I'm likely not ever going to get one.

If PD does something similar to what they did with GT6 and release the Next GT on PS4 after the PS5 is out they might as well call their game "Gran Turismo L8".

I just wish there was more of a focus getting more lower-tier cars. Supercars are okay, but boring. I want to see cars like a Nissan Pulsar GTi-R, Sentra Spec V, Subaru Alycone, and etc. That is what I miss about the GT series. They had obscure production cars that had the potential to be hardcore as hell. Now it's just Ferrari, Lambo, 1000hp!

Gonna get hate for this but, I think they should focus on the current standard cars and update them than just add to the list.

Overall, GT7 has to have more modification involved, whether tuning or aero. Physics go without saying.

I'll be honest, I'm going to buy it regardless of any of the items in the pole. As soon as it's for sale, I'm going to buy it.

I'm a fan of consistency, and seeing as I've owned and got enjoyment out of every GT so far, I'll just continue on doing things the same way. What's the worst that could happen? Feeling like I wasted $60? I highly doubt that I'll feel like that, and if I do then it'll be my problem, and I can live with that. If the game is awful then I go back to PCars, probably PCars2 at that point, and Assetto Corsa.

...Y' know, I was just wondering, shouldn't the thread title change to "What would make GT:S a guaranteed purchase for you"?

I mean, GT7 is presumably a good three, four years into the future, if it's happening at all. But GT:S is like, just around that corner. Probably.

Just saying...

Because I made this thread before GTS was announced and when it was a mod moved either moved it over or the GT7 section became the GTS section.

For me it is a guaranteed purchase regardless of whether the game is deemed good or not, though I will decide for myself with the purchase. The question for at least for me should have been "When you buy GT7 what are gonna be the things that upset you the most about the game?" Or "What likely factors will stop you playing GT7 after you purchase!"

Key things for me are:

Sound
Robust Online

Certain things will be a given, like allot of content, graphics being awesome and decent physics.

Get the AI up to racing speed like this.

This is not my video but, every race is just as intense. Notice no brake checks or backing off or squirmy AI when the player is side by side. I'm enjoying the racing. GT needs to catch up.

👍:tup:You know GT has a lot of work to do when finishing mid-field in PCars or other games is more exciting than any race you've ever run offline and won in GT5/6.
