Does anyone else find that their tyres heat up slower in Lounges than anywhere else? It's really bizarre. They don't seem to wear out at a different rate, they're just slower to get up to temperature and harder to keep there.

Agreed. It does seem to take a long time.

On The HP thing.

I have a Z sitting at 534hp and an NSX sitting at 502hp. Before deciding which car to use for Fuji I tested them will all the tunes resetted to default.

Both cars had exactly the same speed on the long straight. Both cars did same times in sector 1, the Z was faster in sector 2, and the NSX was faster in sector 3. Total lap times was about the same. I selected to Z because I'm more familiar how to tune it.

For the future I have two proposals.

1, Leave it as it is. Breaking in and do oil changes is within the rules and part of preparing a race car.

2, Set the limit to 493hp. This is what all cars have from dealer. I noticed when you drive in a lounge it doesn't add milage to the car so you don't need to do any oilchanges but you can race it as is new.

Setting the limit somewhere above 493 is tricky. should it be 505, 512, 522, 534, or what number. If set to for example 508hp, then you like to get to exactly that number. you do some oilchanges and by accident you get to 509hp and then you have to buy new car.

I propose we stick to as is which I think is option #1. If we find out it doesn't work, then I vote we go for option #2. In the race at Fuji I think at least the Z/GTR/NSX was evenly matched both in terms of top speed and lap times.

Every car, once it gets to your garage, changes the hp rating. The ONLY car that actually kept the rating was the Z. Nsx - 465, GT-R 47x, sc430 - 46x I believe.

I think you and are the same. We are better tuners than drivers. I did Strittans race at Suzuka last Sunday and I noticed a difference in tirewear between the tracks.

Suzuka was much harder on the tires. They got up to temp after two laps, even wear front/rear. I only tested medium tires and by lap 13 they where pretty much undrivable

Fuji was kinder to the tires but uneven front/rear. The rear worn quicker than front. The front never really got up to temp through the whole stint. I only tried soft and after 10 laps they were still OK but a little less grip in the rear compared to fresh.

Yeah, that was interesting too. When the medium tyres go off you REALLY notice. They're like driving on jelly. The soft ones seem to just slowly go away.

I think you're right about the tuning thing. At this point my tuning is pretty rudimentary, I fiddle with the ride height, camber, and toe until I get something that feels good to me. It usually ends up a lot faster, if only for the reason that the car is more comfortable to drive and I don't end up crashing for silly reasons.

I've been trying to make a video of me doing laps in the Garaiya for the last half hour, but my camera was being uncooperative, and then it ran out of batteries. Maybe tomorrow.

Possible to join this still? Don't mind what division, so long as I get to race.

GT300 would be cool, in the Autobacs Arta Garaiya - My PSN is Moieman.

Ok great, ill edit the post later on today. Not home at the moment.

Although i disclosed the championship prize (may add more).

Good way to motivate people.

Check it out.

I'm not gonna be home Christmas day. I'm not sure if you'll get that many people for the race considering it's Christmas but you never know.

Well if i reschedule it on Sunday, it'll have to be sometime around 5PM PST. And im not sure ill be able to stay home. Im sure ill be home saturday spending time with my family opening presents. Maybe friday, Christmas Eve? Noon PST.

Yah... i think ill do that.

Not too much worries since its preseason anyway.

I've already read it all, I just haven't been able to figure out the following things though:

1. How do you get a save file off of your PS3 and onto a PM message, exactly?
2. what's the next preseason race track and how much time left do we have to submit the record lap?
3. what's this "equipment" you're speaking of? Do you mean the wheel?

1. You attach a copy of your replay save file to the private message
2. Monaco (Cote d' Azur). Deadline is midnight on wednesday (although i may delay and change it if there aren't enough drivers since its Christmas)
3. Yes, Wheel or Pad.

Cool

What's the next lap times submission deadline? Tuesday?
