It is a shame there aren't more overtaking opportunities at Indy Road btw - you guys find the same? I was often thinking about lining up a move on Senninha, only to back out of it because it felt dangerous - the only safe corner to pass imo is into turn 1 - the others are all too high speed, have a very short braking distance, or there is only one line through the corner.

Really great race tonight guys. It's certainly more fun starting at the back it has to be said.

I took it very easy the first few laps, with such tight pack racing there was no point trying to charge through, especially as I had a sticking brake pedal for the first few laps. I also had no prior practice for this race, so turning up at the last minute meant an easy first few laps for me.

I decided to go for 2 stop strategy rather than try and battle through the pack and risk damage, while it was probably slower than a 1 stop, I still managed to have a fun and close race.

Had a few good battles, and the last few laps were really excited, the battling was erm 'intense' with one particular driver at the end, but racing is racing I guess. :indiff:

Congratulations to chorda on a well deserved victory, it was a brilliant drive. Congratulations to everyone else who finished of course. 👍

Really enjoyed that one.

I feel sorry for tony1311, during the formationlap he wrote on the chat that he could only see 7 out of 12 cars. So I had to ask him to leave :( Sorry friend, but there was nothing else to do, the race would have been killed with racers not seeing 50% of the cars...

thanks chorda for hosting.

was a bit of a lonley race for me as turn 1 was a bit nasty but hey never mind. it looked fun at the front, i tried my best to push but just couldnt catch, was only matching the lap times lol

thanks again looking forward to next race

Its the first race i have done as it usually says not compatible with host when i tried to join masi a few races, but went really well, could not see eppe as he was a ghost and i was a ghost to him, but apart from that it was a perfect race, i never got damaged the whole race and went for the most popular 1 stop stratagy, but i spun out twice on the same corner and ended up on the grass, allowing ffocus to pass me both times, went into the last lap with about +2 seconds on ffocus, but with a really late brake on the first corner was back in the slipstream, followed him the whole lap (as there was no way to overtake) and was in the slipstream at the last straight, but tried to squeeze through the inside, but only managed to tap the side of ffocus's rx7 and loose my speed advantage, his rx7's speed managed to pull the 0.001..... but it was enough :( good racing all ;)

Mini Race report with no pictures.

I started in 11th position with GTP_Sigma behind me having being late and forced to start at the back. I thought that i would just coast it through the race and see where things take me. Well first corner some people overshoot the corner, go wide and end up taking some other people off with them aswell. Me and a few others continued to the first chicane where yet more people decided to go for a picnic which left me and Falcon in 1st and 2nd.

I was in the Castrol Toms Supra and Falcon was in the Raybrig NSX so i knew he would easily have me down the straights even with slipstreaming him. He was a consistent 2.5 up to 3.1 secs ahead of me and neither him or me were showing signs of fatigue at this point but it was only lap 12. As i was thinking this the inevitable happened and Falcon ran wide under breaking for the first corner. I overtook him cautiously reminding myself that damage was on and safely made my way into 1st position without any contact. But as usual with me, this was short lived.

Eventually it came to the point where our tires were starting to give up on us and Falcon managed to take the lead back off me a lap before we had to pit in. Obviously the pitstop couldn't of went any smoother as i came out at the exact same distance i entered behind Falcon and came out behind Sonic who i accidentally made contact with, as i would of said, i'm sorry man. It wasn't intentional and was a simple mistake, no need to leave the race and start calling me vulgar names.

This basically ended my race for me but it was my fault so i stuck with it. Not wanting to pit i hobbled round with full left side wheel(??) damage to the best of my ability. Falcon had taking off into the distance and was catching the leaders Chorda and GTP_Sigma who had yet to pit.

After this there wasn't really anything exciting around me for a while except for John overtaking me on the 34th lap, THANK YOU VERY MUCH :D and ended finishing in 6th.

Was a really good fun race, props to Chorda for hosting and organizing the unofficial race and also to Falcon for the battle throughout the first half of the race.

P.s - i thought pitstop was mandatory? If so Chroda and apollo didn't pit. :dunce:

I did pit one lap before you did, I was right at your tail when I turned in.. Does your car have mirrors :)

I made a pitstop.
I also saw chorda pull in too because it gave me first place.
Not possible to do 36 laps on a set of tyres, i would be spinning like a yoyo after about 25 :P

EDIT: 2nd place i mean :P

Ok, think its funny that people was on the moon in the
60´s but U cant play online smooth in 2011 :indiff:

haha i know it worked fine last week stayed in neomones room for like 2 and a half hours.

I just resseted router back to factory setting and in process of setting everything up again. hope it fixes it.

I had already pitted at that point, I pitted twice. :P

Apollo definitely pitted, I saw him. He pitted quite early in the race.

Then how did both apollo and chorda end up so far ahead after my pitstop? Unless they didn't add any fuel.

I pit halfway through at about lap 18.
I was surprised the leaders didn't pit at the halfway point, i made up a massive amount of time after that stop because ye were still running on your first set of tyres.
Although i was gettin caught at the end of the race until i went off.

I also didnt add any fuel, i had more than half a tank left.

Being too anxious to frigging race I think I passed a car before the starting line but realized my mistake, slowed down till I was second to last in front of Sigma. Not too much trouble was done but still a stupid mistake.

Racereport will be up in 1 hour. Just need to upload some pics, and write a report.. The replay reviw and penaltys are all taken care of. 👍

Not a very good race for me. Started from pole I hoped for a good chance of a clean start. In the first corner Wilhelm (starting fourth) cut on the inside of the barrier garding the apex of the corner and hit my side. Going from fourt and aim for the lead is a tad too aggressive for a 35 lap race with heavy damage.

After a pitstop at the end of the first lap, is not much excitement around. Manage to gain quite a lot of time on the leaders, but it would have been much more fun being part of that battle.

I think Indy Road is a great track with some tricky corners, so I did enjoy the drive but it was hard to get the motivation to push hard.

I have mixed feelings about heavy damage and the benefit of it.. Its not the first time I've been hit on the first lap. Personally I think a weaker set on the damage and a penalty system would make for better racing.

It's a shame indeed, I was wondering why you weren't out at the front, I suspected you had damage when I saw you mid way through the race. Having a race ruined due to damage certainly isn't good, although it is at least fun battling through the pack again.

Hopefully you will have an incident free race next. 👍
I certainly agree indy is a great track for racing.

Whats the real penalty for a jumpstart in GT500? Drivethru? about 20 sec penalty?

Well, about damage, I'm not saying it was your fault. But this is part of racing. I did stay out of trouble, but I on the other hand did not have the whole pack breathing down my neck into the first corner.

When everybody have tryed the heavy damage (that's part of why we have preseason) and fully understand the importance of staying out of trouble, racing will be great. 👍

Wilhelm198824: You don't win the race in the first corner as you noticed. Take it easy! Respect eachother!

I feel for you Sail IC...

My busy schedule almost lead me to miss this race, I joined with about a minute to spare, a well organised race, a very good effort on the running of the event by Denilson.

I think we need to add a penalty system. In this case, driving a car one lap with damage and an extra pit stop (its long pitlane at Indy) added about 45 seconds to the race time.

It doesn't matter that much as this is the pre-season, but if driving for points in the championship, its a different thing. And here is where I'm questioning the benefit of damage set to high.

Btw, its hard to fault a driver being hit by a car shorcutting inside a track barrier at the start.

Sail IC,

There is a penalty system. Procedure is in place to deduct time, points, and outright DQ drivers depending on the offense.

First: I love the diversity of the grid 👍
indy026.jpg

Sonic-_-89b and C-Falcon89 are way ahead of me when crossing the startline. (Yes they should be behind me) 20 sec penalty.
indy023.jpg

1st lap was a bit of a mess. Wilheelm198824 rammed JohnKiller in turn 1. If Wilhelm198824 did not quit the race and ended up last he would have recieved a penalty or even DSQ'd. It was an outragous move! (Don't have a pic of the accident, however, more things happened during the first lap)
indy022.jpg

JohnKiller2 and Paginas (Don't know what happened to Paginas, but the first lap was messy) entering the pits at the end of lap 1. Sad to see :(
indy021.jpg

GTP_Sigma, Vagabone and chorda taking it easy on the first lap. Avoiding chaos.
indy020.jpg

LAP 2: Sonic-_-89b for ramming maSonn09 hard from behind in the lefthander after the back straight. PENALTY: 20 seconds

chorda outbrakes Sonic-_-89b in the last righthander before coming out on the big oval. Sonic-_-89b lost hes rear coming out of the "S"-turn, and lost speed.
indy019.jpg

Sonic-_-89b, XsApollo, OwensRacing and chorda had a tight race for a few laps. Racing was tough but clean. 👍
OwensRacing entered the long lefthander before the back straight a little to wide, creating a gap where chorda could stick hes nose in.
indy018.jpg

In the lefthander before the "S" bends, OwensRacing touched some grass and spun out while the rest of the pack kept racing.
indy017.jpg

GTP_Sigma is starting to advance thru the field from hes last grid position. In the beginning of lap 6 hes involved with a brakebattle with XsApollo. But XsApollo kept hes cool, and held on for 6th place. In this picture you can see how GTP_Sigma really gives space to XsApollo. Great driving!! 👍
indy016.jpg

But the next lap, XsApollo can't defend 6th anymore...
indy015.jpg

NOTE: Nycrom's Yellowhat Supra did 294 km/h without any drafting. Great speed 👍

Paginas had a tough race. Look at the front on this XANAVI GT-R
indy014.jpg

After the misreble start, Johnkiller2 had a lonley race for the most part. He pulled god laptimes, but he was to far behind after the incident in turn 1, lap 1 to make any contact.
indy013.jpg

2 guys (Paginas and Nycrom) with a tough race ahead of them. But they fought hard and did finish the race. 👍
indy012.jpg

Lap: 11. maSonn09, C-Falcon89, chorda, XsApollo and GTP_Sigma way back in the pits. That sneaky guy went for a 2 stopper :)
indy011.jpg

GTP_Sigmas pit crew had to work twice as hard as most other teams. :)
indy010.jpg

GTP_Sigmas pit stop ends the initial part of the race. From here on, positions was quite stable, with no incidents.
The positions where steady, but around lap 16, tyres was getting worn down pretty bad. Top 3 (maSonn09, C-Falcon89 and chorda) lost about 1 second/lap at this point. chorda was worried about GTP_Sigma, so he decided to pull into the pits when Nycrom (-1 lap) camo from nowhere and also got invilved with the dogfight already going on. It would simply cost to much time.
indy009.jpg

indy008.jpg

1 lap later. C-Falcon89 and maSonn09 had clearly lost time during that extra lap on the track.
indy007.jpg

GTP_Sigma did hes last stop at lap 26. XsApollo got up to 1st and chorda close behind him got up to 2nd.

At the end of lap 28 XsApollo and chorda cought up OwensRacing in the "S" bends. A lot of time was lost here. chorda managed to get by when XsApollo and OwensRacing made contact. C-Falcon89 was gaing a lot of time because of the lapping incident, and was now up chordas ***. QwensRacing did what he could. It is a tricky section, and XsApollo was a little to hot.
indy006.jpg

From here on, it was an intence battle between chorda and C-Falcon89 for the rest of the race (7 laps). Swaping positions 2 times/lap.
GTP_Sigma did not mind :). He was closing in fast. The picture says it all.. 3,5 laps to go...
indy005.jpg

Who got balls? chorda lost.. this one.. 2 laps to go..
indy004.jpg

Turn 1, final lap. C-Falcon, chorda and GTP_Sigma are dead even, coming 3 wide in to turn 1. C-Falcon brakes way to late (before the picture, he was on chordas right side :)) ramming GTP_Sigma. chorda took advantage of the situation and gained 1st.. PENALTY: 20 seconds
indy003.jpg

Final lap: chordas tyres was completely done. C-Falcon and GTP_Sigma cought up in the "S" bends. But in the last righthander before coming out on the oval, C-Falcon89 lost hes rear end, loosing a lot of speed for himself and GTP_Sigma, makng chorda pull away for the win! If that mistake had nod happened, chorda would probably got overtaken from drafting..

Official result:
1. chorda: 58:09.041
2. GTP_Sigma: + 01.244
3. XsApollo: + 10.518

4. JohnKiller2: + 19.459
5. maSonn09: + 23.104
6. C-Falcon89: + 00.163 + 40.000 penalty: + 40.163
7. Vagabone: + 47.663
8. Paginas: + 53.597
9. Nycrom: + 1:33.607
10. OwensRacing: DNF
11. Sonic-_-89b: DNF
12. Wilhelm198824: DNF
13. tony1311: DNS (cause of ghost car issue)

Whats up lads, currently on route to my destination - not too busy so i took the liberty to finally read most of my PMs from two weeks back :D

@ Fellow Stewards

Finally got to read the discussions you guys had about the incidents after Nurburgring. That was my fault - then again, i was too preoccupied with personal stuff at the time :) Anyway, i like all the points Johan made and we should discuss it furthermore to finalize the Penalty System. Although that wont be possible until after i head back home from vaca. I think what ive come up on Page 1 right now is a good base; just need a few tweaks with input from the Committee (Masi, Johan, Paginas, Imari, & Denilson).

@ All WSGTC members

Incidents - Please keep issues private (through the PM system). Discuss it with only the parties involved - furthermore, if the said parties do not come to a mutual agreement, the issue must be escalated and reported to the Stewards, otherwise, thanks to the crap replay system, Penalties will not be given out or considered.

Yes, I know. Was just thinking, if someone makes a big mstake, he'll lern to the next race. That's why we have this preseason races. We have one race left before the real cahmpionship kicks in. Let's not include any new drivers from now (unless someone who is trustworthy can vouch for that driver). In that case, all drivers will know what it's all about for the real championship.
