Ok now I’ve got it. Got to GameStop an hour before the $5.00 fee.
Turns out they never told me they got it in because my GameStop account said I didnt have any preorders or anything on there, good thing I kept my order confirmation. Now I just have to wait for the TV to be fixed

The lobbies in GTS now that Wreckfest is on the PS4 - this game is total blast.

Should I link to my post from Tuesday about dunce drivers still playing GTS? :D Oh, what the heck?

I've also been saving videos of the massive takedowns the AI has served me as well the other way around. Can't wait till I have enough to put together a compilation

As much as I love a good side by side or terrific overtake video, everybody tends to watch for the aggression. Wreckfest may take over my video making time. I think I have enough right now for a good compilation video.

Since the reviews are overwhelmingly good I decided to purchase. Yet to play, at work. But I have a question. Do the cars eventually start to smoke and catch fire after too many hits like in Destruction Derby?

Can’t wait to try this later tonight.

As has already been confirmed, yes, yes they do. I have found out first hand.

I bought Wreckfest a long time ago while it was still early access on Steam. I got the deluxe edition with the bonus backer car. I assume the new season pass contains different content than this?

A bit annoying that old backers don't get the SP for free like Automobilista did.

I bought the physical version for Xbox One. On release day I couldn’t get the game to launch at all. The developer said that there was a bug that did not launch the game while any usb devices plugged into the console. The update came over either Wednesday or Thursday now it’s fixed. The game is hilarious. Some of the crashes are brutal too. The Bandit Ripper V8 looks cool when wrecked.

I expected worse from the Supervan vs. 23 school bus challenge

I’m happy a hard time with the Rammer race. The head-on crashes are very entertaining though. .

The button assignments are aggravating, but I've been able to adapt. Except for the reset car button assigned to the square, which is normally an emergency brake in other arcade style racing games.

This is it. It's just pure fun, hilarious and very very hard to put down. I turn my PS4 on to play gran turismo and end up just hitting wreckfest for hours.

It’s great. I love doing the races with mixed special vehicles.

I have a blast with it, too!
It is as good as I hoped, it will be.

I work my way though the career on expert with "realistic" damage and wow, these races can get challenging, especially in light cars. It's cool, that you don't have to win every event or championship to progress.

I have a problem since the patch, though. In heat races, the game crashes after the first qualifying round. You come back to the menu and see the standings table for a split second, before it disappears and nothing goes anymore. I'm on standard PS4.

Do you guys have the same problem?

One thing Wreckfest could need is an "easier, but still full of options track editor".

Hopefully it will come in a 2nd game (cause it doesn't seem likely to come in the original one).

Quick question. Most of the replays I've seen are of drivers racing in chase cam view. I think it's the default as when I fired up the game that was the driving view that came up. On Project Cars 2 which I normally race my preferred racing view is cockpit.
So far the few races I've done on Wreckfest I just left it in default chase cam view but the question is this. What is your preferred view on other race sims (Pcars 2, GTsport etc) and is it that on Wreckfest you prefer to race in chase cam view...and why?

I race all of my driving games the same way: chase cam. I prefer replays in trackside mode, as if I was a fan watching the action go by. Just look at my GT Sport videos to see what I mean.

I would normally use cockpit or bonnet cam, but Wreckfest has no mirrors so I use chase cam so I can see cars hitting me from behind.

Racing sims >> cockpit cam
Wreckfest >> bonnet cam/cockpit cam

I usually drive from Roof (Better Field Of View) or Cockpit Camera. However, these old junkers you drive don’t have Wing mirrors, so I prefer using chase

@davidt33 -- I generally prefer cockpit camera in sims and chase cam in almost all other racing games, but it largely depends on the qualities of the view. Whatever works well and provides sufficient feedback. Often enough chase cam is advantageous for situational awareness, which is a big factor in this game, of course. :) Cockpit view is an invitation to be spun out without warning if you aren't proactive with the right stick.

This chase cam hangs lower than I would like, though, allowing your vehicle to occasionally obscure what lies ahead.

I did one heat race last night, and between rounds the game froze, but only temporarily. After a long moment the game recovers and continues on. A new issue since the last update (PS4 Slim).

Yeah I'm thinking that's the common thinking with most of the drivers thus far why chase cam is the most used.
Pity the lack of mirrors IMO. For a game especially like this with cars coming all directions including from behind in a jiffy the lack of mirrors in cockpit leaves you kind of blind and your behind vulnerable.

Why is it the cars don't have rear view mirrors? Is it that in this category of racing the cars in reality don't have mirrors?....or is it that Wreckfest just didn't bother to include them? I wish they would include mirrors. Then I might be more inclined to race in cockpit view like I do other racing sims. Very odd for me racing in chase cam but it seems more forgiving in Wreckfest thus far.

BTW, thanks to all for your feedback.

As I said in my post, these are old junkers that have been saved from the scrapheap
They probably lack most of the bodywork that makes them actual complete cars

Have you tried changing the FOV? That might help you.

Some of them do, but they are blank.

I'd guess it's a framerate issue. With everything that's happening in front of you, it'd be too much a drain on the PS4 resources to render the view behind too.

Even situational arrows pointing to cars behind would be a help.

I’m having a little trouble placing 1st in the Rammer Derby Race in the National Amateurs. How did you win the race?

Just spin everyone out. The Rammer RS is so beefy you can just give people a little tap to spin them round
Later on in the race, if you get overtaken, just push them into oncoming traffic

Good idea, but it didn't help. Narrowing the FOV just makes the car larger and widening the FOV moves the car further into the middle of the screen.

While toying around with that in a custom race with zero opponents, I discovered that you have a fair amount of freedom to joyride beyond the barriers. It won't stop you until you venture beyond the outer limit of the circuit complex. :)

Really enjoying this game so far. I had high expectations and it has exceeded them. Playing demolition derby online is a blast.
I haven’t tried my wheel with it yet, and not sure if I will bother as it seems enjoyable enough on the pad. Has anyone tried both DS4 and wheel to compare?
