Really enjoying this game so far. I had high expectations and it has exceeded them. Playing demolition derby online is a blast.
I haven’t tried my wheel with it yet, and not sure if I will bother as it seems enjoyable enough on the pad. Has anyone tried both DS4 and wheel to compare?
I finally got a chance to play some more earlier today being the weekend and must say having fun with it. Have to admit I did a couple restarts in order to get 1st position. *shame*....but meh, I like finishing 1st plus to get credits and exp.
Pretty much everything (Settings: Advanced) is at Default with the exception of Force Feedback which is dialed down from default 80 0r 90 to 40% because the default FFB was much too strong and to avoid damaging my wrists or whatever.

Driving view is still default chase cam which so far seems more natural for the sim. I've been racing with the wheel (Fanatec CSL Elite for PS4) which is what I prefer to drive with. I haven't tried the controller but I guess it could be ok for this sim too.

I had some funds in my psn wallet so I took the plunge and oh my this game is a ton of fun and for a laugh I took the car you get at the start looks like a mustang and pitted myself against a full grid of trucks on one of the figure of eight tracks and that was scary especially coming towards the crossover.

Yes I’ve played on both, it’s much easier on pad.

Aren't there assists for this game? How do I turn it off and turn on manual transmission for career mode? I don't see it in the settings anywhere.

Can the difficulty be adjusted?

I've only seen these changes for custom races, not career.

Is it me or is this game easier to play on pad that it is on wheel?
It’s no less fun on the wheel it’s just harder to be fast.

I've only played on the DS4 since I don't have a wheel. It's very easy to control, in my opinion.

The assist settings are on one of the pre race menus, I can’t remember which.
If you switch them all off, it still seems to counter steer for you a bit. Looking at the in game wheel, I guess it’s simulating self aligning torque?

Yeah, this game is stupid fun. Also, if anyone who plans to make a long form video from this game, turn off background music. My video already got hit by a copyright claim. Good thing I'm so insignificant to be allowed to monetize it.   Claim it, you won't get a penny.

Before a race, you have event, standings, difficulty and tune. Everything you need is in the difficulty menu.

I like this game (ps4, Logitech G92)

But now I hit huge obstacle.

Great Escape - with Reliant Robin (Supervan) against twenty something schoolbuses.
I simply cannot control that car even with full driving aiding things or without them. It feels like steering rack is blasted.
Any tips for this? Should I play this event with game pad?

Frankly, any game that allows a car to get like this - and much worse - plus still finish 5th on your first race would get my money no matter how it played.

And yet, it also happens to be a ruddy good game and not even full price! Feels great to drive the cars and the sounds of the first car you start with are promising. So pleased I bought it.

Is possible to do it with both a wheel or pad, the car needs minimal steering input and you need to stick to the inside of the track as much as you can. Using the buses as a barrier to steer against helps a lot to.

I have a video of a successful run I did with a pad, will post it later on as it may help, you do however need a bit of luck as well.

Edited to add:

Here you go.

Attempting an HD livestream of online racing.

Edit: after 2 races the stream crashed when trying to load the next track, and I noticed that the message at the bottom didn't update when I started this stream. I always seem to stream GT Sport perfectly fine though so maybe it's just from the game's servers being overloaded since it is still really new.
In it's place I added how I tend to practice for online racing.

That, and the PC version runs at 60FPS if you have a powerful enough PC

A nice to have for sure, but not as essential here as it would be for a sim requiring more precise driving. Honestly the 30FPS here is absolutely fine whereas it wouldn't be acceptable in F1 2019.

I have no speakeers at work, but while watching this video, I could hear music from Benny Hill in my head.

Got myself the Deluxe Edition from the PS Store earlier today. Noticed a few bugs and lag attacks here and there, but oh my word...

What so you get in the deluxe version Vulcan and would you say it's worth while? Is it like Dirt Rally 2 where it means loads of essential content or just cosmetic stuff?

LOL, I was thinking the video would be complete if the van had "Trotters Independent Trading Co" emblazoned on the side. It's the kind of crap that Del Boy and Rodney would find themselves in after taking a wrong turn.

Hoping some of the later DLCs include more modern throwaway cars like Volvo 850s and maybe a mid-size American market model. They probably crumple differently with more composites in the bodywork.

*sigh* I didn't want to be the first to bring the party down, but considering I've been playing for a couple of hours, I'm not having any fun. The game feels like a chore. Amateur is too easy with assist off, while expert consistently has two or three cars rated below mine that run away without breaking a sweat. The lawnmower and couch are different, but they're even worse. The screen transitions actually give me a headache, I really don't like how the menus are set up, and I HATE the music selection, and yes I did fix that already, no music makes the menus that much mer irritating.

I made a mistake buying this new. I might have been a bit more calm had the game not claimed 16 hours of download time since Thursday.
