I've made some comparison shots of Sonoma/Hocky with FM4.

Really bummed out about not having any Japanese tracks. I would get F1 2015 to get my fix but the performance on xbo seems to be just as bad as pCARS at least on fps. Has anyone tried it? I know it dips from 50 odd fps to high 30s, can you really tell though when playing it?

I've honestly also had a paronoia about identity theft when it comes to using my credit card online, which has often prevented me from buying things so much online. Of course, it's probably just as possible to get my identity stolen at a store than it is online; so that makes my excuse a bit moot.

While buying from large sites and/or services like eBay or, in this case, XBL is usually very safe...

If you are concerned about some ne'er-do-well gaining access to your credit card and stealing your money and/or data, you could get a prepaid debit card for online shopping. I don't know how it works in the US, but here in Italy the only information that's required to get a prepaid is information that is not exactly reserved (and that you likely already provided to subscribe to your service of choice anyways).
And in the worst case scenario (your card getting stolen), all you need to do is to withdraw the amount you got loaded from an ATM, and then leave the card to rot.

Since I am set on my mind for Ultimate edition and never had an Xbox what are my next steps? Do I need to make an xbox account and preorder (do I need an xbox to do that)? When you preorder do you pay in advance or only when the product is delivered?
You pay the money up front I'm afraid but I don't think you need an Xbox as I believe you can set up a Microsoft account at xbox.com and preorder the game from there. When you get your Xbone, log in with the MS account and the game should in theory download onto your console ready for September 10th.

You can also refund before the release date.

Yeah, I could if I wanted as I have used those before. I've gotten a couple of them as gifts.

Hmm some of those F4 shots actually look better in some areas IMO.
I hope this won't be the case when comparing the in-game graphics. Hopefully the new shaders mean FM6 won't be as shiny looking as the 360 games were.

The Ford GT has a mechanical rear wing??? This is news to me!

I think it was stated that the real car would utilise active aerodynamics so I'm not surprised that it's the same in game.

Was there a shot of the active wing on a clay model somewhere in the first teaser announcement trailer at the Detroit Auto Show?

Yeah, the homespace looks insanely good, like CG car commercials, it's amazing what you can do with only one car on screen and 30 fps) Here's the videos (credit to gamersyde)

The second one shows rainy Nurburgring

I see that they've finally added the correct 24h layout where it goes left right after the first corner.

Some new details(credit to GSY Miguel of neogaf):
- there's no qualifications but there's "mods" you can activate to change your place on the starting grid and get better rewards
- mods are like skulls in Halo, it adds more challenge and thus better rewards at the end of the race
- there's mods that can force cockpit view and make you start at the last place
- now you can tune your car and practice before each race, without having to leave the race
- career mode is 70+ hours long
- in career there are two parts : Stories of Motorsport and Showcases events
- in Stories of Motorsport there is 5 groups, going from street cars to hypercars, not much details about how it works
- in Showcases events you don't have to own the car, you can drive against some people like Tanner Foust and The Stig (Hammond and May are there too, he did not talk about Clarkson)
- you can switch between those two career parts anytime
- he talked a lot about multiplayer and Leagues, most of which is in there latest post on forzamotorsport.net
- there's a spectating feature

More like September 10th, day one is for poor bastards.
Well the reason I wrote that is because for some reason I had November in my head as a release date. At the time I wrote that message I had thought that was a typo. I'm so glad I was wrong, because a one month wait is way better than a 3 month wait!

Yes. Yes. All of the yes. This right here is the best news I've heard about the game all week. It's about time that was sorted.

One thing I've noticed so far that's made me happy; there seems to be less of the copy/pasted helicopters and flocks of birds. Those were interesting the first couple times in FM5, but the birds got annoying after every single lap, and seeing 3 separate helicopters just on the back straight-ish section (the run up to the Karussell) on the Nurb always seemed silly to me. Excellent!

New Homespace looks great, hope we can choose between it and the FM5 one though (no point in removing one). And wow to that GT on the wet 'Ring.

The homespace seems so open that it would be ridiculous if they don't let you actually position the car this time.

I agree very nice we can finally tune our cars and practice before each race. That was one of my favorite features in GT5 and GT6 and the F1 games. Nice to see that finally in Forza.
