It seems this is 1 or 2 year old Interview because everying KAZ mentiones is rreally old info,

cars break to pieces (we seen damage and its nothing like that)

only 20 locations, (now its more then that)

Auction house ( old GT5 concept that NEVER PD spoken of it since 2009)

My conclusion, its just a UStream Video repost, noting LIVE about it!

If it was a true interview for over 30 minutes, it would have been posted on PD website, KOTAKU (whatever the name is) would post it as well

-The Game will have some region specific cars
(for them im betting thos unusual squary cars etc)
in otherwords cars that market would want and even pay to get hold of, this also goies back to that auction point from earlierso cars in other regions you want may be only available this way.

It'll be like an ebay place for digital cars. (I kinda expected that)

Keep the info coming.

I'm not sure about that. Both Yamauchi and LOVECARS! had many tweets regarding the interview around the time it was conducted. You can also see Yamauchi's comments here about being in front of a "live audience of 200".

Great find. now that it is pretty much confirmed that it was a recent interview. I am worried about 20 tracks or Locations, as well that not all will have a night option and cycle in them. But its cool to hear for the auctions. Hmm I can't wait to buy some great car with setups from great tuners that we have here in GTP :)

I think Yamauchi's going to release more tracks as an update a week after the Game releases because they probably couldn't get it all done and polished in time for release.

I can almost guarantee, that will not be happening. If they can get new track a week after release, you can bet they'll delay the game for that week in order to have them on the disk.

I agree, because for most PS3 exclusives, it takes few weeks for the FIRST DLC to be released, PS3 exclusives are not Capcom

He just started:) he ll give me later. he will save to Notepad.

-Microphone communication between players online

This is real time translation..

?

I just find it hard to believe everything that you have said unless we see a written translation. Not to mention the fact you may have missed something significant. None of the stuff you have said is far fetched, i'm just a little sceptical thats all. The Auction House is good news. Now lets hope there are used car dealers in the game, and that low mileage rare cars in those used car dealers are as random and rare as drops in MMORPGs.

Kaz said specifically, that he isn't against DLC, He just wouldn't release a game and have extra content waiting for you at the PS Store.

Auction house would be a nice thing and I hope it will be in the game... This can maybe also confirm an "paint" editor!? (I´ve forgotten how it was called).

Because it wouldn´t make any sense if you only can buy car´s wich you can also buy in the car dealer shop...

Thats why rare cars should be rare, and not like in GT4 where the used car dealers are fixed on a 100 week cycle.

And it's livery editor :)

Th rarest of the cars showed up every 2 years, GT4 time. Is that not rare enough? Then you had other cars that only showed up a few times a year and then you had the common cars. I think he used dealer lots were just fine.

If they were scripted to be random, that would be much welcomed. Then the online auction will be huge because low mileage rare cars will be sought after through the player market, and not just waiting for week 72 or whatever of the used car cycle. If the used car cycles were fixed, nobody would really bother with the auction house unless there was an in-depth Livery Editor.

The ideal solution would be to have both. Thats what I want, but I am expecting neither. I don't feel that PD will have made rare cars truly rare, so that everyone can have a go at driving them. Every car has to be reasonably obtainable in their eyes (Which is why I think the mid-high mileage cars should be quite common, even for rare cars like Ferrari 250 GTO or whatnot). I also do not believe they will have created a livery editor to rival that of Forza 3, I think they will have some sort of visual customisation, but not on the sort of scale needed to create a vast online community of livery artists (Is that the best term to use? I consider it an art myself :P). It will be simpler; editing the car colour, a few pre-set decals, that sort of thing. I think the main visual customisation in GT5 will relate to the aerodynamics of the car, not the aesthetics.

At one point the one of the guy was holding an iPad (around 1hr55min into the show) which wasn't out until last month.

HAHA, yeah silly me. But seems on this current interview he really is going back on what he menioned a year or two back! So seems maybe everyting will be out that Kaz dreamed off :)

So one person is translating japanese to english, then by voice giving info to a GTP'r who is giving it to us in somewhat broken text.

Sounds like our typical GT5/Kaz interview translation problems.

We need a word for word translation from someone fluent in both languages. Great job though by Patriotzero, its awesome that the translator and himself are taking the time to this. He's truly committed to the cause that is GT5 info!

LOL, first you say it's pointless because of the poor execution but then you praise him for it?

Thats what I did too, but a little more subtle-like. If we see a full written/word for word translation it will go a long way, and we may pick up more from it than Patriotzero did. But passing along messages in broken English... I have my doubts as to whether he's telling the truth at all unfortunately. He could be making it up on the spot.

My friend is english who translated this..We talked together on MSN..Whatever he wrorte i put it in here..It may be broken words. Its only MSN chat..IT seems interview is new.I still confused about prologue upgrade update issue..maybe he meant online event update. He didint say any interview we are going to support Gt5 prologue. At least I tried to help so Dave what did you do? only bla bla in this forum?

Thanks for taking the time patriotzero 👍

To be honest, I'm hoping the bit about updating Prologue is wrong because personally, I think they should just focus on getting the game done instead of worrying about what is now a 2 year old "demo". I'm sure some people would welcome an update, but I'm at a point now where I've seen enough, and really only need a release date and a few tid bits of news to keep me happy.

@patriotzero

Thanks for the translations so far, keep it up. 👍

As for the remarks on Prologue: It is not just renewing the online events, but also maintaining the online records for drift and time trials.

This is possible translation.
We all know we may be just 'lost in translation...
I've just posted here for our curiosity...
At the end he said he would update the list (I checked right now, no update yet)

I' ve noticed that many info were already posted in this thread.
Maybe is a confirmation if it is not coming from the same source...

NEW GT5 NEWS IN A NEW INTERVIEW! http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/6557748

- Players will be able to smash their cars to smithereens all the way down to a single bolt during a NSCAR race (most likely in WRC as well).

- His team have implemented improved body roll physics (the swaying motion when you turn left and right and most likely roll over as well)

- Kaz said the PS3 is the only console powerful enough to run GT5's physics and that a good PC would struggle to run it.

- He mentioned something about efficient streaming of physics data using the PS3's Cell Processor and how it would work over the internet (meaning Online)

- He went in to more detail explaining that with improving Broadband speeds they are able to let more players race each other online.

- He says that wall bouncing & spinning was a major problem in Prologue but it'll be fixed 'for sure' before GT5 releases.

- He mentioned something about GT5 featuring an Auction house that will enable players to get hold of rare cars (rare cars probably means GT5 cars that are only available in other regions).

- Again he has confirmed that GT5 will feature 20 Tracks.

- Day & Night has been confirmed but not all tracks will have it which means there'll be no dynamic Day & Night cycles (but there's still a possibility)

- There's going to be new updates for Prologue up until GT5's release.

- There's going to be support for microphones during online play.

- He said that Pit crews will be fully implemented and ready in GT5 when it releases.

- The game will have region specific cars (as I said before the Auction feature is most likely there to get hold of these cars)

- He said GT5's release date will be coming soon.

I'll update the list later on...

i dont think PD will back to work for Prologue..

Actually I think its plausible.

Maybe there are some online features in GT5 that they want to test in GT5P. Who knows maybe an update for GT5P so we can set up private rooms. The reason I say this is because testing a game in the studio differs to testing on the community. This is why we see beta demos so the developer can recieve the feedback from the community and sort out any bugs/glitches.

Just seen the post above mine. I do feel the 20 tracks is causing some confusion. What I think KY is suggesting is 20 locations which of course doesn't mean 20 tracks. The overall total tracks will probably be around 80.
