2016 Formula 1 Gran Premio Heineken d'ItaliaFormula 1

The deal with Channel 4 here in the UK to show F1 on terrestrial TV will end in a few years. Is there anywhere I will be able to watch it? I don't have Skysports F1.
Nope.

I don't have a TV Licence, so I can't watch it anywhere even now.

Nope, kinda the whole point of an exclusive deal unfortunately. The only legal way to watch F1 in the UK will be Sky Sports, in some shape or form.

Internet Streams.

I have to watch it now and then as the broadcasters here love to air it the next day because gridiron is better or some old repeat.

I know for a fact they would not show the local football the next day.

And when they do show it the next day they heavily edit it.

Nope.

It's illegal in the UK to watch any event as it is being broadcast on a UK television station without a Licence. As Channel 4 and Sky broadcast the F1 in the UK, I cannot watch it anywhere else during the broadcast.

Hmm, Channel 4 seem to have caught the bug pushing Palmer. EJ was praising him, now Steve Jones is calling him Renault's "MVP".

How much does it cost?
In France, 4 years ago, F1 moved from a free access channel (the most popular one) to Canal +, which cost not less than 40 euros a month! (access only, this does not includes any hardware or subscription to satellite or cable)

is that an actual rule or more of a guideline? Cause even in the US with our draconian copyright laws those rules are rarely enforced unless you're being ridiculously blunt about it.

The cheapest option would be to get a streaming pass for each weekend, no subscription. They are currently £11 for a week, so for the 21 races you're looking at £231.

That's a rule, you can be fined and even go to prison. Just a few days ago they tightened the law to cover people streaming shows even after broadcast on devices other than a TV. So now catch up also needs a license.

The TV license is a stupid concept that nearly every other country has scrapped. The BBC would have much more money if they went commercial and weren't tied into the limited budget gained from the license fee.

It's an actual law.

They also recently extended the law to cover the BBC's catch-up service, iPlayer, meaning that you now need a TV Licence to watch any content on iPlayer at any time. Other on-demand services are still okay though.

Anyone know the purpose of the red car in the back behind the medical car? I've only seen it at the Italian GP.

Fair enough, from this side the penalty was issued as he was already in the garage but I guess the decision would have been made as he was out on the track.
