Anybody out there following the Grand Am?

Jan Magnussen and Antonio Garcia in the 75 Camaro for Lime Rock
It looks like a few teams added cars for this weekend. The more the merrier.
Are you coming to the last Grand Am race ever?

Weather looks great for this weekend but it's nothing but a cloudy future from here on. :(

Link to last years action.

Yes I am.

It's a bittersweet weekend for sure.

I haven't missed any Grand Am/ ALMS races here since 2007.

That's a solid streak! I'm sad both series are coming to a close soon especially grand am. Hopefully the USCC will be even better going forward

So, Mac, have you got an extra $450,000, and the means of transporting both Turner cars?

If so, you and I have finally formed that racing team we were talking about. I've always loved those Turner BMWs. BMW and Mazda were the two manufacturers I wanted to see winning the most. :( It's going to be sad to not have them sneaking their way into the winner's circle anymore. :(

While they won't be run by Turner, you do realize that BMW is still going to be in the series? The Z4s have shown they can compete with the other cars so they still are capable of getting into victory lane.

But, I'm referring to the M3s. I'm going to miss the M3s. I don't like the Z4s.

Then, why didn't you just say that?

I like the GTE Z4s, I don't get why some people don't like them(apart from that one guy who just doesn't like the ALMS GT version)

I don't like the look of them, I think they look goofy. I wouldn't want to be seen in one, so I think it's uncool.

Implying you can afford one? :sly:

Seriously though, I think Turner might run the Aston Martins. One of his drivers already has connections to them (which helped put Bill Auberlen in one of the GTE cars at Le Mans if I recall) and Aston are already looking to do a campaign in North America so I think he's going with them.

That's my second guess because Paul Dalla Lana runs an AM in the wec if I'm not mistaken. I think Audi is the more attractive car choice due to the more development in the car.

But if he's going GTLM (which I'm not sure but it could be possible), then I think Dalla Lana's Connections could come handy for that.

Dalla Lana wants to race with Turner if I remember right. Billy Aub. will be with RLL though. I doubt PDL wants to race against manufacturer teams and pro-pro lineups. He's in gte-am in the wec. Gtd Audi or AM more than likely. My gut was beginning to tell me Turner goes to PC, but that article says GTD.

Pretty sure there was an article which said that, at least for the NAEC, Dalla-Lana would be driving the GTE Factory Aston.
I'm pretty sure Turner will keep with BMW and go for the Z4. It would totally undermine their business (BMW parts) to go with Audi or Mercedes.

Currently publishing a tribute video since this is the final race for the series. will be posted in a few minutes.

Wow, a stop & go to the Aston Martin for "Avoidable contact". So now going off track and coming back on and getting hooked in the side counts as "avoidable contact"? Complete rubbish  .

By the way, the final Rolex Sports Car Series race is on.

Isn't it on fox sports 2 ? Or is it anywhere else ?

I'd thought the other guys would be watching it (being the last race and all), but I'm guessing they aren't aware its live today (not tomarrow on Fox Sports 1, which is a HD re-Air).

I don't have fs2 either. I'm following live timing on grand am.com

Sorry, can't find a stream. Everywhere that advertises "Live Streaming" is either stuck in 2012 or isn't showing a damn thing

And now my satellite has stopped. Just great...

I found a livestream and completely forgot to post.. Sorry guys. Great race! I won't give away to much for those of us who haven't seen the race yet.

Great racing today. The final yellow flag really sealed the deal of the race. Watching Preutt live making a run on second place was ruined by the crash on the West Hill of Lime Rock. Unfortunately my phone was dead at that point of the race and I didn't get to record the crash with the two prototypes and Porsche that ended Preutt's push.

It was nuts seeing that happen less then 25 yards away
