I get problems 'seeing' i-was, but never get problems with WIDFO. Bt if we run this in a public room, isn't there a risk that the room will fill up with...ahemmmm, undesirables? How can we keep it'private'?

once we work out or know who can make you set a lobby up to only fill the amount of people that intent to participate,

OK, so we;ll meet in a CRAP lounge (or mine) first, and if there are problems, we can move over to a public room with the pre determined number of player. So peoples.....don't be late on Saturday :)

I am only a "maybe" now as I might be helping my brother and his Father in Law test fly one of these....

It's just a model but still very cool, and powered by a bona fide gas turbine engine. Bring on the kero' :)

So, as far as I can tell, the following will be racing tomorrow evening.

Me (Gadget334)
i-was-ere
Atik_Ali
G3TH_D
Cobani
Knukken (maybe)
TDZDave
Davidb_165 (maybe)
MichoRexo
Overkiller-63 (Maybe)

And a reminder that qualifying will start at 2130 GMT. The room will be open about 30 mins earlier for free practise. Event start time date stamped below so you can work out local time zones

maybe Overkiller-63, if he is online,

for those of you who may have reservation's on him he has reworked his car choice and setup, he sent an apology to me for whom he affected in the last event he was in,

also, track condition's? dry/ wet/ dark/ moist. Which one? I would like to try some other car's but the dont work so great in the wet,

Overkiller took me out in the last race too, but it was in innocent mistake as he sideswiped my limping GTR while passing. He just needs to realise that if he is gaining fast on a slower car, that car is probably damaged and needs to pass with caution. If we all try to pull offline, or if possible, off the track to let faster cars safely by then we should be OK. I've certainly no issue with him racing Saturday....good chance for redemption :)

Conditions will be all of the above Dave, as they were last week. During 13 laps we will see wet/damp/dry/daylight and the blackness of night. I'll set the conditions to be different from last week regarding time of day we start etc, but other than that, it'll be the Full Monty again :)

Qualifying and Starting Procedure for Saturday

I'll be using HP's standard method. I'll run through this in the race lobby but just as a heads up it'll be as follows:-

Qualifying starts at 2130 GMT. Race room will be open for 30 mins before that for free practise.
All cars to go to the pits and wait to be instructed to start their outlap. Once called, please drive out onto the track, complete one outlap (untimed) and then a hot lap. The hot lap is what will count for your qually position.

As soon as you cross the line at the end of your 2nd lap, please proceed to the end fo the start finish straight and park on the run off area of the first right hander. Put handbrake on and wait for everyone to finish their laps. DO NOT exit to the lobby please, as I will need to qualify myself (last man out) and then myself go to the lobby and view each of your times via spectator mode so as to confirm the grid order.

I'll announce the grid order (please remember your position) and then you'll be free to drive back to the pits and change tyres/repair damage if needed.

I'll then start the race so we all form on the grid. It will be a rolling start, and we need to ensure we are all in our designated positions, so we'll pull away slowly and drive in formation to the essess (the first right/left at the end of the start/finish straight). As soon as you are clear of the left hander in the essess, the race begins, but just remember its a long race, the track could be slippery, and if you crash or get damage this early in the lap, it's a very long and slow drive back to the pits for your repair.

As they always say, you can't WIN a race on the first lap, but you can certainly LOSE it.

Good luck gentlemen. Looking forward to another classic.

Depending on how many show up, I MAY decide to change the previously mentioned qualifying format to a one lap qualifying race with collisions OFF. I'll call it when I see who's in the room by 2130 tomorrow.

Hopefully noone has an issue with that? Actually, when 'change weather' is on, it's a fairer way of doing it because obviously with a track that is constantly changing, last man out gets an advantage if thew track is drying, or, if the conditions are worsening, a disadvantage.

agreed, I like it, we did the same with CRAP NASCAR weekend, works 👍

there is some fast people coming,

Kind of scared that WIDFO/ I-Was and myself are going to try to get into one room together again, finger's crossed,

Thanks Gadget for the helping hand. Thanks to all for the great support of the 4hr series. I more than realize I haven't been present and have a friends wedding this weekend, so won't make this event, but what you are doing is fantastic. It is in the spirit and vision that we've been promoting.
This year is hard for us regarding the 24hr race as we have had little success in its promotion. The 4hr series is looking like something more feasible. Continue the great passion for hardcore racing!! Watching from behind the scenes...talk soon.

My pleasure. I hope it's as fun as last weeks.

We've actually had another two CRAPPERs indicate they'll be here (ANFD & ejiffemro) so it really is looking like being a seriously full room.

Just to confirm ... I am planning to attend. Gadget, you told me to go to the GTPlanet thread to sign up for the event but not sure where I'm supposed to "sign up" ?

Also I might add that I may prefer not to qualify to ensure a rearward starting position, depending on whether or not the race starts in wet conditions :)

your on the right thread ANFD,

Thanks for the paint, My partner is currently enjoying your youtube video's,

Hey TDZ ... if you need any particular color just let me know, I got thousands I don't need. Glad you're enjoying the videos since you're on the other side of this big ole rock and I can share our experiences and travels with you :) Leaving on another trip next month to go film some alligators up close and personal :)

I've seen swamp people and gatorboy's, gator's are friendly, come over here and experience some salt water croc's,

looking forward to tomorrow's event,

ANFD, that's fine. Just wanted an intention to compete post in this thread to help me keep tabs on who's expected tonight.

Due to the popularity I will now be running qually as a one lap race with disable collisions ON ( racing ghost cars). Suggest you run in that as extra practise to get your eye in and then deliberately drop to the back of the pack before crossing the line. Could be a smart move ;)

Greetings.

My 1st post on these forums.

I might be able to participate in the race tonight - not 100% certain though but I'd like to be there if you'll have me.

I've recently started playing GT5 and I am part of the Wurks.ca 24h qualifiers in the team Octane Racing.

I'll keep looking in this thread if you add me to the "maybe" list :embarrassed:)

Hi Mate, yes no problem. These nights are primarily for WURKS 24hr (and the VLN 4hr series) competitors to practise. I should have three of my teamates (Team Motion Blur - all in yellow GTR-R35-TC's) on track tonight so would be great to have you along. Just adhere to enduro basics and drive respectfully, don't 'bump pass', and remember it's a marathon not a sprint. Sorry, don't mean to preach but thats what us more regulars like to adhere to and it keeps it friendly yet still very competitive :)

I do drive "respectfully" and adhere to racing "etiquette".

I don't see any problems when it comes to that "department".

Looking forward to adding a few of you to my friendslist and somehow find out where the wurks race room is "hidden" :indiff:

I'll send a friendrequest to both Gadget334 and KurtKrDu soonish and hopefully you'll accept it.
