Is this what it's come to? Arguing about when, how and the cost of DLC. What exactly does that have to do the quality of either game. This whole peeing contest of my game is better than yours is getting ridiculous. If you can't see the good in the other game and the flaws in your own then you have no business being here. I suggest everyone grows a pair and starts to act a little more adult about this whole debate.

Which is exactly what I have been trying to say and FM4 has these graphics on EVERY car.

It's not Autovista cars vs other cars that is the difference. It's just when the cars are in Autovista mode. All of the cars are created equally for in game play. This has been stated by Dan many times.

They are not holding back content. It is there for who wants it. If they tried to charge $70 for the standard game then there would be an uproar about that instead. The reason for the LCE is to make the consumer feel like they are getting something special when they buy that vs the standard game.

Whoa son, if every car is created equal then all of them should be in Autovista. Or am i wrong here.

Let me word it a little different to see if you understand. Every car is created equal for IN GAME RACING. Let me know if I need to slow it down or spell it in a different language.

You so much believe what you are saying that you are starting not to make any sense even to yourself. If every car are created equal in-game then every car should be Autovistable :sly:. The 25 cars that are available in Autovista are there because they are modeled to a greater degree, if every car was on-par with autovista cars then by default every car should be available in the mode. Does all this make sense, am not trying to be rude just stressing the point.

Dude, you just don't get it. The models used in Autovista are not the same as the ones used in gameplay. It's the same as photo travel vs actual gameplay in GT5. They are capable of higher quality models in Autovista because the cars are not moving. Same goes for phototravel in GT5. Autovista is just a glorified photomode with some added tidbits.

Autovista is just a showcase feature. It's additional fluff and nothing to do with the racing. It's like a step-up from photo-mode.

All cars in Forza are modelled equally on-track and in photo mode - where it matters. They all have the same level of detail and cockpit views. That's the difference from GT5. There's no standard vs premium thing here, more a case of some cars being more detailed in a separate museum feature which has nothing to do with the core gameplay.

Not that hard to understand really.

Do you own an Xbo?. I was wondering.

nope. and why would i? nothing interests me on that console.

@justin,

prolgue was released because alot of fans were clamouring for next gen GT and sony wasn't going to wait till 2010 for it. And prologue was worth the 20 quid i spend on it.

take away 800 cars from GT and it makes no difference to the grand scheme of things. pound for pound or should i say polygon for polygon, when it comes to models, lighting, shaders and track authencity there are leagues apart from each other.

Then how can you possibly pass comment in this thread? How much of FM 1, 2 & 3 have you played.

Ridiculous isn't it?

I think it's safe to assume that nearly everyone here has extensive experience of both the GT and Forza franchises. Typing opinions on a game you've never played kind of renders said opinions null and void in my book.

That's pretty much how I see it whether you like both or one game over the other if you don't have any seat time, and I mean REAL seat time in the one you "hate" then your opinion is worth about as much as an empty coffee cup at a no refill joint.

What does it matter when the detailed Autovista models cannot be driven? It's nothing to do with gameplay. At all.

The fact is, outside of Autovista mode the 25 cars are on the exact same level of detail as the rest in Forza 4.

With GT5, 80% of the cars look noticeably worse on-track, lack a cockpit view, cannot be used in photo mode and cannot even be photographed close up in replays.

Still want to talk about a two-tiered car list?

Damn man, you harrased a guy for his PSN to a point of mods telling you to stop, because according to you, you cant make a comment or opinion of a game if you have not played it.

In your EXACT words "So could you kindly post your PSN (XBL) ID please. Let's see if your playing experiences matches your 'observations' about Forza?

They are leagues apart I sooo agree. Glad you see FM being on top here.

Out of 400-500 cars only 25 are available for autovista, so that means that the rest is not optimized for Autovista right? so then that means there are Cars that are highly detailed compared to others right? if that is so then every car being the same IN-Game does not mean that they are the same. Does that make sense? they are the same but they are not the same. Some are highly detailed compared to others because people will view them rather up-close with the autovista mode. If all had parity then all should be available in autovista, unless of-course Turn 10 are lazy as someone accused PD of being.

I am commenting on this thread from what i can see. Notice my arguments have nothing to with forza's gameplay. Although alot of people mention the hidden assists which i probably mentioned once or twice but that's about it.

When i trash forza i trash it's looks, it's cartoony looking cars with wrong geometry. I trash their tracks which looks inaccurate to real life.

I trash their philosophy of having the wrong priorties when it comes to racing. Livery editor? who gives a ****. I trash their hypocrisy when it comes to crying about the porsche license when they have basically moneyhatted andy wilman and jeremy clarkson.

i have already said from the beginning when i joined this board that i never played forza.

You see i am pretty honest. I dont need to lie and pretend to have played the game so i could look 'authentic' to some folks around here

Then your opinion is absolutely worthless to me.

Are you just acting ignorant? Or do you really not grasp the concept?

Autovista is like an ineractive muesem. Nothing more.

So basically you're trashing a game based off watching youtube vids?

No offense to anyone that still enjoys GT5, but THIS is a prime example of GT5 blind, following, sheep. Your opinions mean crap. Thanks for helping bring it to light.

aaah but you see, what i said was

thrash talk a game. i care nothing for that. take a dump on GT. No problems. But here's the killa. If you are going to talk about how much you played the game and now it's irrelevant then be prepared to prove you have actually played the game

get the difference.

Yeah I get the difference, one man's comments are based off experience and the other dude sounds like an internet parrot.

In a nice high-pitched parrot voice:
"SQUAWK TRACKS ARE BAD, TRACKS ARE BAD"
"SQUAWK PREMIUM CARS, PREMIUM CARS"

Your point would hold water if the 25 Autovista cars carried across that same level of detail on-track, as with the premiums compared to standards in GT5. But they don't. Each and every one of the cars in Forza 4 is on the same level when it comes to detail during gameplay.

Come on, seriously, it's not that hard to comprehend. Autovista is just a non-gameplay museum feature where a few cars are optimised.

Are you just acting ignorant? Or do you really not grasp the concept?

Autovista is like an ineractive muesem. Nothing more.

Then why is there only a selected group of cars in that "Interactive Museum".

So we all come to the conclusion that Turn 10 are lazy, eh. If every car is on par and only 25 is represented in the Autovista mode that means Turn 10 couldn't do the rest in 2 years.

Which would be, get this, hearsay. Regardless of it being true or not, you personally have no experience with it and are going with the "He said, she said" route.

Logical fallacy #1

I trash their philosophy of having the wrong priorties when it comes to racing. Livery editor? who gives a ****.

You realize there are liveries on racing cars, right? And you also realize that one of the bullet points for inclusive features in GT5 was a livery editor, right? A feature they (PD) still want to include.

Logical fallacy #2

I trash their hypocrisy when it comes to crying about the porsche license when they have basically moneyhatted andy wilman and jeremy clarkson.

What has one to do with the other?

You see i am pretty honest. I dont need to lie and pretend to have played the game so i could look 'authentic' to some folks around here

Yet you liberally demanded someone give you their PSN ID just so you could verify their claims.

Logical fallacy #3

No offense to anyone that still enjoys GT5, but THIS is a prime example of GT5 blind, following, sheep. Your opinions mean crap. Thanks for helping bring it to light.

i don't need you to validate my own opinions.

and yes i am unashamedly GT sheep. have been for years and will be for the next decade too.

The moment kaz produces a subpar product will be the day this sheep grazes elsewhere. Until then i shall be eating and drinking from the garden of Turismo

Then why is there only a selected group of cars in that "Interactive Museum".

I dont know. I didnt develop the game. I really cant answer that for you. Why were 800 cars not modeled to the same quality in GT5 premiums? Maybe its the same reasons?

vandaliser
nope. and why would i? nothing interests me on that console.

I thought not.

I've never played IRacing. I don't know much about it.
I wouldn't feel confident in giving opinions on it to regular players.
Actually I don't think I'd ever post on their forum.

Plenty of members around here have played them all. BigBazz for example. I may or may not agree with what he says but I respect the fact he talks from experience.

Your not the only one to do it and you won't be the last.

Do you recommend joining a stamp collecting forum and show them how little I know on their subject? Is it fun to do stuff like that.
