How can you possibly say this is more realistic?
That sounds terrible sounds nothing like on my system. I will post a video to show you.

WAY too high pitched.
At least we can agree on how to debate like adults. 👍
Well its because of thet wining tranny sound, but appart from that the sound effects are pretty good in gt5, specially the doppler effects. The engine sound might be better in forza 3, but the overall sound effects in gt5 is better. In forza 3 you hardly hear the cars passing by you, and even worse, you hardly hear them when doing fly byes.
Unless you mean FM4, previous FM's have sounded anything but realistic.
Have you ever heard of hollywood sound effect? Shift 2 is actually worse. Sounding good does not mean it sounds realistic, for the cars that i have compared Shift 2 completely over exaggerates any and every sound. I guess that appeals to fans.
^^The sounds on the real version one seems compressed.
Think this comparison is more accurate.
That sound distorted not accurate.
I guess this is your thought of GT5 sounding accurate.

Exactly Zero that's how my sounds. 👍 Here is my video I wish i could capture the bass more but it is still better than Chris video.
Not to sound like a jerk, but I still dont think that sounds good at all. It sound better outside of the car, but the cockpit view sound is still very off. It sounds...faked. Dunno.

no. In the real life one, I can hear the specific engine note of the car upto the point that windnoise takes over. In that gt5 video, its just loud noise throughout.

But their sound systems make them better.... completely new game with them, honest.... And their Bravias display GT5 at full 1080p, at 120 fps...How can Forza compete with that?
/sarcasm of course
The level....is just baffling

Oh come on JDMKING13, you don't really want to imply that the JDM STI sounds different enough from the USDM one to be closer to the GT5 footage than it is to the FM4 footage, do you?
I mean, really, I can't find perfect footage of a real life car, a car from Forza and from GT5 for everything. But wherever I manage to do so, Forza sounds both better and more accurate.
There's a fistful of exceptions, probably. The 787B being the one I know, as that car does sound good in GT5. Aside from that, it really does get tough to find something that I can remember sounding better in GT5 than it did in FM3/4.
And that's just engine noise, by the way. Not grinding gears or crash sounds included...
All a great sound system does in GT5 is take what sounds bad and make it that much more noticeable.
You mean like this....

Nobody can justify the engine sounds, its widely known that the sounds are nothing like in real life, and it becomes even worse woth aftermarket exhaust...explain that?
The engine sounds in forza 4 i believe is much more real world like, the engine sound in gt5 are retarded, and many cars sound the same, specielly after putting sport exhaust on them. The the sound effects, as stated before are better in gt5. Gt5 probably has the most un-real life like engine sounds compared to forza. The vtec hondas in gt5 doesnt even sound like vtec in real life. But in forza 3, the vtech sound was perfect.
I have both fm3 and gt5, so what the deal? At least im presenting information, you dont..."A lie that is repeated enough times can become truth". You are displaying that my friend. Before you present popular opinion you need to conduct your own tests.
Jdm STI comes 2.0 USDM come 2.5, they also have different header styling which makes them sound very different watch this video (2:00) and you will see what im talking about. The USDM have that deep grow while the JDM STI sound very tamed.
I don't know what kind of sound system you used but I hooked up GT5 to my sound system and it didn't sound bad. I running a Yamaha VX-765 with lossless HDMI imput/ output to a 3.1 system- 45" Paradigm towers w/ center and a 12" M&K sub.
Personally, I've played GT since the original first came out on PS1. I like the GT series a lot. They do a lot of great things but having 40 versions of the Skyline and Miata is annoying. Cobbling standard cars with premium made the game feel half complete. But until the last month, I played GT5 regularly since it's release date last November.
I bought Forza on the xbox many years ago cause they were both cheap. I didn't like it. Picked up F3 over the summer and had a lot of fun. The graphics are nice, in some ways I like it more that GT5. But these cars are so easy to handle. I can whip around the Carrera RS '73 with no aids except ABS. In GT5, I can barely keep it on the road, well, the RUF BTR '87, a somewhat similar car.
What I do love about F3 is that it is kind of a challenge. If I beef up a car, the opponents get tougher. If I keep it stock, which I do 90% of the time, it will take me most of the race to get to first. But like the GT series, once you're in first, it is hard to fail.
I like both games but I don't like is people bashing either. They both have strengths and weaknesses.
I am very excited for F4. It sounds like it will blow the doors off of GT5. And liking the GT series far more than Forza, I am glad to say that. Cause competition is making these games a lot better.
And even then, it still sounds way off, JDM version, USDM version, doesn't matter.
GT5's sound is so far off, I couldn't even tell whether PD tried to recreate the USDM or JDM version.

A simple sound setup with some bass should work. Youtube videos are 2ch stereo and most sound tones get lost or muted by other sounds. Don't reflect the real game sound, also there are 3 sound setting within the game and most people when capture direct hdmi videos don't change their 5.1 sound preset. For that reason some channels get lost in translation or muted. Other games mix the sound channels in a more simplistic form and does not have the GT5 channel separation.
