We've hit the "slow drivers down" tri-fecta at only 18 laps. Already seen an SC, VSC and Red Flag.

It's not a perfect plan, and it's not assuming that driver 2 has a second set of hards available. The alternative is driver 2 not to change tyres.
I'd argue it's worse than the current system. I'm also just trying to say that for all these alternative rules people are suggesting, it's not that simple

Another idea for red flag changes is a time penalty based on what work needs to be done.
If driving down pit is 25s
Average tire change is 2.5s
Average front wing change is 5s
etc
Add times together.

Teams can choose to change tires but they will get a 27.5s time penalty.
This way the teams can choose, do they change tires and get the penalty or do they NOT change and hope there is another safety car or pit in later and hope you can make some time to cover any time penalty the drivers will get.

Bono with a fascinating but admittedly nerdy-as-hell bit of feedback for Lewis.

I'm wondering how Max is doing on his tires right now?

Max might be starting to have trouble with his tires....

Red Flag due to debris.

Color me both confused and excited.

Soooo, I'm assuming that everyone is going to swap over to Soft Tires, right?

Just like the (V8)Supercars race with a few laps to race to the finish, this retsart is going to a similar Gran Turismo style two-lap race. :sly:

And there it is.....that should be a rule for safety car at the end of the race....if safety car comes out with 5 or less laps to go....just RED FLAG the race. I'm happy with this development.

Two laps of mayhem? 😐
Hamilton Brake Magic?

This is just the FIA trying anything to stop Max winning. He's been poor off the starts again this weekend.

There needs to be a "if race is within 3 laps to the end, Red Flag is chequered flag" rule because as fun as a 2 lap sprint was in Baku, and as crazy as this could be, it really isn't necessary and is only for entertainment rather than a fair sport.

Oh give over. The whole point of the sport is entertainment, no one wants to see early chequered flags and safety car finishes. RACING

Pretty much what this is and believe me, they want nothing more than chaos to hype up the result.
