If you can drive this car with absolutely everything turned off, then I tip my hat to you because you are a better man that I am lol. :)
With a controller you have to use something.
....I have to use the TCS = 5 or I can't control the car.

I just tried Cote d'Azur for the first time. Wow, why isn't this track elsewhere in the game?? The thing I've found on this one is that the challenge comes at getting the lead and not making mistakes after that. For this course, I find that it's hard for the AI to get room to pass you if you are in front unless you really make a bad mistake. This course is wicked though. Coming out of the tunnel down that hill to the chicane is really hard to get the right braking on. Plus, I watched the replay of the AI cars on that one and the way they navigate within millimeters of the elbow turns on the back side of that race is just ridiculous. Good stuff.
Couldn't agree with you more an awesome track :) I was just wondering though what transmission setting did you use for this race?

Read the post. Set everything accordingly. I stink driving this monster.

Got some rain, other cars pit. Held the lead until I slid off track and said eff it.

Gonna need a box of Snickers. This gonna take a while.

(edit) - I should mention I do not use a wheel, yet.... dual shock and F1 is not a good mix.

All the tunes we are using are listed in this thread.

The one I'm running is in the very first post. The one he is talking about using right now is post #45. :)

No, sorry about that, I didn't mean the tunes, I meant the car. the FGT. Please?

Lol, you want someone to just give you an FGT? Don't you have anything you can trade? What race cars do you have. I'd trade with you if you have something I need.

Thanks for your settings very much, golded every event. As many people should have already noticed - Using Racing Hard tyres in the Rain is a lot faster and more stable than using Racing Intermediate/Rain tyres, hope PD will fix this soon.

Although you most likely had Aspec in mind with this tune, I thought you would like to know that my level 25 Bspec guy using your tune had no trouble winning all 6 races, lapping at least 1/2 the field in all of them. I only had to adjust the tranny for each track. Thanks! 👍

Thanks for the tunes! Helped a lot! I won the Formula Championships first time through and I even forfeited Monte Carlo. Won B-Spec easily as well but he needed coaching. I went back and tried Monte Carlo a few times after... best I could do was 2nd. Fun but such a tough track! What drives me crazy is... I just can't seem to get my traction control off of 1 with all other aids off. I lose my ass end online every time! I guess I need better foot pedal control. What is your best advice for losing the ass end? Should I adjust acceleration sensitivity? Initial torque? Or again... lighter on the gas pedal?

I use a DS3 as well. What are your driving aid, abs and tcs settings?

All were off other then tcs. I turned them on and won the first race. Was in second until I totally screwed up at Indy and got pissed and quit....

Having all the aids on makes all the difference in the world, for me at least.

downforce max/max
diff 15/20/15
ride height -5/0
spring rate 16.4/17.5
damper ext 6/8
damper comp 5/7
anti roll 5/7
camber -2.5/-1.5
toe -0.25/-0.15
trans 249
brakes 4/1

try this one and let me know what you think. i tested it on the formula gt races with the following results...

fuji
passed every car in the field going into turn 1 lap 1, lol, and was never threatened again. wasn't even close

indy road course
similar result to fuji. they were forever behind me

nurburgring gpf
had some problems here. the car pushes BIG TIME in one of the turns, and i couldnt get it to stop even after spending a significant amount of time trying to adjust the tune to fix the problem.

cote -same settings, but adjust trans to 199 or one increment higher than that
had an incredibly bad crash due to an AI car doing the pit maneuver to me on lap 1. ended up like 20 seconds behind leader. battled back to first place, but a couple devastating bumps to the wall caused me to "stick" to the wall causing several cars to get around me again. Fought back to 2nd place, but ran out of laps before i could overtake the leader again. was right behind him though. the loss here was on me, but this race is pure awesomeness.

suzuka
couldn't finish this one. tune seemed to work all right, but it was 7 am and i had to go to bed.

what do you guys think of this one. what i really tried to work on with this tune was that i attemped to the best of my ability to make the car so it would keep turning when you drop the hammer coming out of turns.

So 249 mph is about 400 kmh right?

Got myself an FGT today and gave the tune in post 1 a try. Have to say it feels really good at the moment.

I've only just started racing with SRF off (after realising what it does, I can't bring myself to use it ever again), so that, along with this machines power and a set of tracks that I'm really not used to, means that I am heavily outmatched by the AI drivers in the FGT championship.

I only did 5-6 laps on each track before quitting and moving to the next (seeing this as a practise session), and by the time I got to Monza I was keeping up reasonably well (best lap of 1.24), which really does say something for the tune.

When I'm a bit more used to no SRF and this car, I'll give you a much more in depth run down of how the car felt, for now though, I'll just say it feels good!

I'm also useing your tune and I'm really having a tough time. It is like I have to start all over again. I'm sure it is me and not your tune!! :dunce:

Jorday, what in the world are you doing to run a 1:13 at Fuji? I'm stuck in the 1:14.2 range... Is that 1:13 flat or what?
depending on driving aids, i think i managed a 1:12 something with skid recovery force turned on, with everything off except abs and tcs on default, my best is probably more like a 1:16. So if you are doing a 1:14 with only abs and tcs you're probably better than me. skid recovery force you can get on the gas way sooner in turns without losing control of the car.
I tried the tune in the first post and the car oversteers heavily after braking. This event seems very difficult for me.
see if any of the following or some combination of the following help...
ease on the throttle more gently.
increase all three differential settings by 20
adjust rear toe TOWARD positive in SMALL increments and test for SEVERAL LAPS each time before changing again

You have to practice for many days at fuji to be able to drive this car decently. i'm really not even that great myself. Once you can do pretty consistent 1:16 or so at fuji you are ready for an attempt at the formula gt championship at least on that track.

It could be the tune, who knows. Try using the tune posted on post #45 and see if that works better for you. If not you can try making some of the changes listed above if the problem you are having is too much oversteer to handle. imo this car is by far the most challenging car to drive in the game.

So what do people thing is the best tune here then? I have been trying each one and none are really working for me at all... I have traction control on 3, active stability on and ABS on 1 and I can't get much better than 7th place.

Even the first tune here says you can get first place by the first corner... that's not happening for me.

I've used the first setup in this thread by jorday (thanks a bunch!), tried it on Fuji and won by about 3 seconds, best lap 1.14.1 if I remember correct.
Haven't done any of the other races yet but judging from what the car handled like, it shouldn't be to much of a hassle to get gold.

Hi Jorday

I would just like to say a BIG BIG thank you for posting up your tuning settings and great feedback you have give in this thread. I tried lots of other tuning setups and by far yours is superior to the other ones i tried. I woould of never been able to complete the fgt series if it wasnt for you and your setup.

Thank you

I really think it comes down to the driving. So much ground can be made or lost by the driver which isn't the tune's fault. That's why I don't really bother with lap times if I'm tuning a car. Tuning is about car performance and handling, etc. Lap times, for me at least, are about how well I drove the course. I can use a one tune that's great and pull a bad lap time with bad driving, or use a bad tune with good driving and reverse that.

Ok, i just finished the Nurburgring GP championship race and ive still got Suzuka to go.

Firstly, i want to thank Jorday for his impressive tune. Works very well bro 👍

Secondly, i held off doing the FGT championship race because I heard nothing but frustrating stories from people.

Only today i mustered up the strength to get to it. I finished the race 15 seconds ahead of the field. I was driving to the limit, and the car is naturally bumpy on this track. So the car is very hard to handle. I was overtaken and settled in 12th place after learning the track off the first lap.

However, on the penultimate corner, i noticed that the AI would constantly spin out due to them putting too much acceleration coming out of the corner. However, the AI was faster than me considerably, sometimes knocking off 2 seconds off my lead per lap. If it wasnt for that corner, i probably would have ended up stone cold last place :dunce:

With that driving aid combination, the first tune should work pretty well...with those settings and aids, the car is definitely capable of winning big. Try going to practice mode at fuji, turn on the driving line to get the right path through the turns. Those last two decreasing radius turns can subtract several seconds to your lap time if you make it through them cleanly.

Glad it worked for you man.

Good job finishing the championship man. It's the best one in the game.

Suzuka is the most challenging one for me.
Yeah, that AI spinout is a stupid programming issue that I hope they fix with the next patch.
hopefuly the do man.
