Chicanes test one's attention span; running down a long road can have a hypnotizing effect.

Does the season start on November 12th or 26th? Or does qualifying start on
the 12th, and the race on the 26th? I am taking delivery on a Formula One car, and completing a 24hr. race with my little brother, and I want to know if I should go for XPRESSPOST or snail mail (data sent).

I really should have voted for Mid-Field Raceway. Its very fast and very fun. Apricot Hill gets repitive after awhile. Mid-Field for me is my strong point.

Having raced Sarthe I properly now I can't see any problem with its inclusion, braking for Indianapolis is interesting, there's a nasty bump in the Porsche curve, and a tendency for snap oversteer in both Pont and the Karting S, but compared to the Nordschleife it's a breeze.

Looking forward to the kick off, looks like we'll hopefully have a decent turn out for most events too 👍

The Previews of the first 6 Grand Prix are complete. I added a link to High Definition photos of the preview photos. Check the first post

Qualifying for the Pacific Grand Prix begins November 12th

The French Grand Prix will be ran using the chicanes of the Sarthe circuit to add difficulty and slow the cars down. The expected pole speed of 165mph+ already has alot of people nervous. If there were no chicanes, would the pole speed be 180mph?

With chicanes 165mph is reasonable, 180 without sounds right, maybe a bit less. Realistically the chicanes do very little to impact the circuit or even the top speed attained, they just add a few seconds on the lap time and ensure you're not twitching along at 370km/h for the full 50 seconds. Indianapolis and the Porsche curves are where things get interesting.

Added Driver Interviews to the first post. More to come as they come available.

Okay, I'm clear on the deadlines. Is there a penalty for any accidents involved in the race, though? Being a beginner in F1, I have to know...

superberkut and I are now teammates.

These little interviews are cool. Makes it feel real. Are we gonna have more?

No response from Bee, anyone want an occasional teammate? Even if I can't race for a week, I can give tips :sly: "1 is the loneliest number, 2 can be as sad as one, its the loneliest number since the number 1" :) Laters all.

It appears Bee already has a teammate.

12 drivers? Wow, if a good portion are active this will be a very interesting season.

Looks like I missed that, my bad. Guess it's just me then.

3 more have been added. With more to come 👍

The series is peaking at the right time. 13 entries and the start of the season is just over 2 days away. I'm expecting a large turnout and will work my hardest to provide the most professional racing series possible to those who are offering their time to take part.

To answer some questions about the series. So here are some basic rules

1. Formula GT is run entirely in Arcade Mode. Qualifying is done in Arcade Mode > Time Trial the race is done in Aracde Mode > Single Race. The Cars run at +1 HP or 900HP and default weight.

2. Tire wear, either mild or strong, is chosen by the flip of a coin. This information will be given in the race thread.

3.
AI difficulty is up to you.

4. ASM is illegal. TCS is optional.

5. Breaching an OLR rule in qualifying makes that lap obsolete (Hitting a wall, getting more than 2 tires off course)

6. Penalty for contact is turned off, but that does not mean you can drive rough. Obey and respect OLR rules at all times. Penalty for contact is only turned off due to the high degree of difficulty involved in driving a Formula GT car.

7. You are allowed to share split times with everyone. You are not allowed to share any form of total lap or race time with anyone other then your teammate. Example of what NOT to do: Post in the race thread "I ran a 1'20.xxx or my race time was 23'.xx.xxx" Adding xs does not help. Do not do that in public. Only share that information with your teammate. You and your teammate are allowed to discuss anything and everything, lap times, race times, anything, via pm email etc. That is the advantage of teammates in this series.

8. Read each race thread carefully. Most races will have rules that only apply for that certain Grand Prix. I will try and make these rules obvious to the reader.

9. There are no weight penalties or 'freebies' in Formula GT. If you're off the pace practice more

10. Race hard for team and country

Heh, I feel like I'm this Championships #1 fan this season. I'm not even part of the series this season, but I keep checking back to read the interviews (I was hoping Blake would make up a story about me leaving because I believe he had an unfair advantage ). I'm anticipating the race results too, once they come around.

Are we dropping the weight on the F1 cars down to -10% because there is no way to tell if someone is at 0% or -10% and could sway results heavily. My apologies if the weight you have listed is at -10% (I'm at work now and can't check that, lol)

Jerome

The weight is default. The cars all run at +1 HP or 900HP.

If someone is going to cheat then they will find a way to cheat, or they could just flat out lie. Personally I will be posting replays of my qualifying lap and race. Others are welcome to do so to verify your time. Sadly, cheating will be possible until Gran Turismo 5. Speaking of Gran Turismo 5, 16 of these cars online, with a detailed cockpit view...very interesting.

True, though As long as we can trust the experienced drivers To Keep a sharp eye out, Then the Competition shall be kept fair and square.

Indeed. Can't wait to see what they do with the FGT cars. These aregreat to drive and look awesome and hope they keep them. The two things I'm left wondering about for online racing are the scheduling[since it may be more subject to change now that its on a bigger and more realistic scale] and registry.

Question: for Motegi is this legal or are we not allowed to touch the lines at all?

Don't tell me you're able to keep it consistent like that throughout the whole corner.

That looks like super speedway not Motegi, Motegi doesn't have a turn like that. But I would think we are following the standard 2 wheels on track no wall bumping stuff, but double check with Mr. Mod (Earth) I did my Qualy lap tho so we'll see how my 45 min session holds up when round 1 starts and I took a pic of the fastest lap displaying the correct HP and Weight, I would encourage everyone to do that in case you get 'called' on it, but that's just me. I really can't wait til the season starts! I think I'm gonna go through some of the Qualy's early to help spread out the season in case I get behind on time as I'm also tryin' to study for my N+ (got my A+ w00t!).

Jerome

Or whatever that speedway is called, lol :dunce:
