The console is barely completed, and only a few accessories and games have been announced, yet people are forced to buy a $400 wheel for a single game,
As far as we know now, yes. Hence "Why would you spend $400 on a wheel that didn't have either (and apparently can't be used with anything else)?"

and comparing it to a platform that's been here since the beginning of time with a ton of accessories?
I forget. Who was the one who brought up a PC accessory as a response to the above question?

No people don't have to "Deal with it", they could wait until they see what the madcatz wheel will cost and if there are any others from entirely different manufacturers, or wait until there a decent library of games on the XB1 before making a decision. We still don't know that our hardware won't work, many thought the same about headsets, until the adapter was announced.
If only there was a way to question why someone would buy the Madcatz wheel with all that in mind.

Also many PC games are making the switch to DX11 only meaning many will need to upgrade hardware to play modern games, is this really that much different?
I'd imagine most people who play modern PC games of the Battlefield and Crysis ilk aren't doing so with pre-Windows 7 graphics hardware anyway (and the latest Steam survey suggests that to be the case as well), so yes it is.

I tend to participate a bit more in the Forza Planet section, I feel people here are a bit more courteous and congenial 👍

Well, from what I just saw over on the Gamescom thread, it seems that the new controller will be amazing at giving the user great feedback via the new rumble motors.

Still not convinced how the whole rumble effect would improve the simulation aspect in any way. Sure, it'll make shooters a whole lot more fun.

Rumble in triggers, but no rumble or FFB in the analog sticks...

^^ Is it impossible? No. Are devs lazy? Maybe. Either way I'm looking forward to *man handling* the new controller! :)

The rumbles on the triggers will quite nifty indeed. Feel something on the left side, left rumbles, feel something on the right, right rumbles. Get shot on the right, right rumbles. .. That's really quite innovative.

I'm more interested to see if it can be taken further with some sort of "surround sound"-esque functionality in the rumble that would really go well with actual surround sound. It would be a boon to shooters if they could get it right (no more unreliable on-screen notation if getting shot from behind); and think about it for racing games. A motor for each tire on a car.

^^ Wow... a rumble/vibration effect that works on a directional basis.

Mate, you should be in the videogame industry!

Wolfe: they could have just as easily incorporated rumble in both analog sticks. Sheer laziness.

If Fanatec wheels are compatible with the Xbox One, then does that mean that the CSP's Brake Vibration motor would activate whenever the rumble in the controller would while braking? Seems possible at least.

Anyone else noticed it has four seperate paddles, kinda like an F1 car

Ummm, no. The console isn't released yet there's already a choice of two wheels, one is rumoured to be under $300 and neither is confirmed to be xbox only.

I forget. Who was the one who brought up a PC accessory as a response to the above question?

Yes me, in a different context. I love when people break down quotes and do that.

If only there was a way to question why someone would buy the Madcatz wheel with all that in mind.

Huh? Because once they've seen the options they could know if it's worth the purchase? Are you implying the only people that would purchase these products are day-one adopters or impulse buyers?

Chicken before egg? I don't think it's possible they had owned that hardware before it was even available, so they had to make an upgrade or original purchase at some point.

I don't know what are you trying to prove..

Smells like marketing trying to latch onto the GT brand. PD need to approve the wheel trim materials, seriously? As if TM hasn't been in this game long enough to figure that out by themselves without PD saying "yep, that slides nicely and no blisters" lol yeah maybe once the final production model was sent there.

JMHO Not trying to prove anything.

"One is rumoured" and "neither is confirmed" means... as far as we know. Because we don't know. Did you not see the words "apparently can't be used with anything else"? Because they were there, and were made in response to the descriptions of the wheel on the Madcatz page and other wheel on the Gamestop page, particularly the latter.

Yep. You brought it up in the context of making a "point" about how people can buy what they want; then defended the point when it was claimed that people spending the price of a used V6 Camaro on a PC accessory isn't the same as people buying a wheel on a console after they might have already bought a similarly priced wheel on the previous console.

Chicken before egg? I don't think it's possible they had owned that hardware before it was even available, so they had to make an upgrade or original purchase at some point.

And most PC gamers probably have done so on their own prerogative already rather than be forced into it when developers made the switch to DX11 from DX9 after the PS4/Xbone released and supported DX11 so they can finally do so without losing the console audience.

And this will likely be the last thing I say on this matter, because the pedantry here is getting pretty silly:

Huh? Because once they've seen the options they could know if it's worth the purchase? Are you implying the only people that would purchase these products are day-one adopters or impulse buyers?

I'm not, and never was, implying anything. I was asking why people would put money down for a wheel that is available on a vendor's website for preorder right now. Which is what the Gamestop URL was linking to. A preorder page for a $400 wheel.

Fact of it is, people will evaluate if the $399 wheel is worth it, if they feel it is to them, they will. That's who will buy it.

Does that answer your original question? Seems simple enough to me.

Evaluated it and it's NOT worth it.
Need H pattern and clutch.
As it is it looks like an overpriced DFGT.

Ok, I have placed a day-one Xbox One preorder which had a listed release date of November but FM5 has a release date of 12/31/13. I thought FM5 was going to be available day one...confused.

I'm sure it's a placeholder date because the retailer knows it's going to be out before the end of the year but they don't know when. Setting the release as late as possible is a way of protecting themselves.

Fm5 is day one, but there's no launch date officially announced yet. When it is, wherever you've preordered from will update.

My Best Buy pre-order always shows the current date as the release date and I get real excited at first and then real sad shortly after.

Hmmm. Even though I'm not getting the X1 at day 1, I wouldn't mind pre-ordering FM5 just to hold on to it when I'm ready to buy the system itself. I want to show T10 my support. :)

That's what I'm doing; it's looking about 80% certain that I won't be getting an X1 on the first day.

Indeed. :) I'll be waiting alittle until the price is at least around $399, hopefully next year. So it be a wise move to hold on to the game before it runs out at day 1, haha. :D

It's always next week, or at this event, or during this interview.

It's sickening If I'm to be honest. I have near zero interest in it at this point.

I am starting to feel the same. I want to see something, some customization. Some tuning. Something.

I feel like they are trying to hard to tease us, it's getting harder to justify an Xbox One.

We are supposed to get some "news" next week. Not holding my breath for anything spanktacular but...

You people are funny. All we know is this is an xbox one compatible wheel, and it's price.

That's enough to evaluate it? Sure. The T500RS looks like an over-priced DFGT on that information alone. Turns out, it's one of the best on the market.

Still aware that people can buy things that they want from the first time you said so, thanks.

Looks like you weren't aware before then, so glad to be of service :sly:
