When T10 actually get around to adding dynamic day/night cycles or the like in the Forza Motorsport series it will be so epic.

Turn10 needs to get the physics right, too. Because cars behave different in rain.
Yes exactly. Some of the games I listed like TDU2, PGR4, Dirt, and F1 2012 all did VERY well with rain / weather physics. PGR4 actually had snow drifts and water puddles that would greatly reduce momentum and physics.

I guess all we can do is hope they release some dlc with night / weather. Otherwise we will have to wait for Forza 6. Which will be out by 2015. Since they release a Forza about every 2 years. I would prefer they wait 3 years and get night / weather.

I am guessing Horizon 2 will be out in 2014 so we can also hope that has rain. Horizon already has night racing. So they are getting closer.

Yes no doubt along with weather. Night / weather is really all Forza is missing. Well we don't know how many cars have been removed from Forza 4 to Forza 5 yet. So we have to keep an eye on that too. When they get all the cars from Forza 4 into a Forza game with night / weather THEN it will be one of the best console sims IMO.

^^ That right there, that's the ticket! 👍

Makes sense to refine the product completely and add finishing touches before releasing it after a full 3 year dev cycle. Has potential to be the best sim no doubt, but the leaps and bounds need to be a little more than just improvements and facelifts here and there. FM4 was a very good improvement over the previous iteration. But now that the ball is in the next-gen park, those leaps and bounds need to be making some very significant leaps! I noticed in the FM5 videos how cars still quite don't look photo realistic. I saw low-res bitmap textures on certain sections of the road, I mean COME ON! It's next gen. Wheel animation not looking right. Anyhooooo...

Horizon 2 is going to be on my A list if it features an exact physics model from FM5.

As long as I have the option to turn night racing/weather on/off, I'm fine with it but if they hold a game back for either of those features, I won't be happy.

TDU2, PGR, and Dirt all have much more simplified physics engines, and F1 2012 only had to make sure the rain felt right for a much smaller range of vehicles.

Balancing the physics so the rain affects both a Hummer, a Civic, and an Indy car correctly is probably a lot more complex than just getting it right for a single one of those things. That's my assumption, at least.

As far as delaying the game for that feature, there's not really any need to. These games are being developed before the previous one has even released. And pushing the game back to add a feature wouldn't make much sense, since they're already starting from that platform and can just add the feature when they release the next one in two years rather if they want to.

Then we got GT5 and all kinds of delays were had.

I don't know. I think a dynamic soundtrack is as far as I'm willing to go for a racing game. Even then, I'll still turn it off the second I boot up the game for the first time.

It sounds like it'd be hard to account for all the different racing situations with canned commentary stems. I mean, what if you pass everybody on the second lap and are just Sunday cruising until the end? Maybe the commentary will become a nice, soothing weather report then.;)

After going insane listening to the commentary of Madden NFL games over the years..

No. Just no. :)

I sincerely doubt he would have been used for race commentary, i'm sure it would have just been for intros to game modes or tracks or something like that. Maybe even a corny saying after winning a race, but even that would make me want to shoot myself lol

Couldn't be worse than the likes of Dirt 3 -- "Hey man, that run was totally sick. You should upload it to YouTube!!"

[FAKE] leaked Forza 5 race commentary:

-First place, great job! Why don't you purchase an Xbox Live Gold Subscription to upload a photo of your win?

-And... [gamertag]... passes... R. Sato for... second place! Why don't you purchase an Xbox Live Gold Subscription to upload a replay of this?

-You're doing well... keep it up! Why don't you purchase an Xbox Live Gold Subscription to finish the race?

-[gamertag]... has a damaged... suspension. Why don't you purchase an Xbox Live Gold Subscription to repair it?

-Invalid selection. Please purchase the Extended Race Commentary Pack for $5.00 on Xbox Live.

I do. I just make those for fun. You can like something and still find faults with it. That's how marriage works.

I would only like the commentary if they told you information about your car as you drove. Sadly the T10 focus groups don't give a damns worth about that.

And I'm getting the XB1 after all. I just hope FM5 impresses me within these few months.

You mean the thing that revealed no pertinent information relative to the game?

No. I didn't care to see it.

Even experienced human commentators can't talk about the race in front of them for long periods of time. If you listen to the 24 hour races, they talk about the race when something interesting is happened, but otherwise they talk about the cars, the teams, the drivers, who is injured, the crowds, the location, the history, the event, the food, the roving reporters who just climbed a tree to get a better look at the track, etc.

Actually, now that I think about it they could probably make fairly interesting commentary simply by largely ignoring what's going on ontrack.

Hmmm.

Yep, didn't know what was the point with it,the idea maybe somewhat innovative but talk about useless.

I thought it was pretty creative and very well done. I don't feel everything has to be a clue about what else is coming to the game.

Yeah I agree that it maybe creative actually it's a bit like the Ayrton Senna Ad Honda did a while back but using the audio (A video I loved)but people have been wanting to see new stuff so the ad is a tad pointless for me.

It's ill-timed. I'll give you that.
