So I built up my Cadillac Limo to use in one oF the open races, only to find out that it was not eligible. Wait, what? I can appreciate the whole homologation thing, but what's the point of offering, say, a Rotary swap into the AMC Pacer (a nice nod to the history of the Pacer) if installing it takes it out of the class? I want to believe that we'll get class lobbies soon enough, but I also know to curb my expectations, too. It took way too long before a non-beginner C class lobby was added in FM6.

Who knows, maybe the person in question created multiple threads over the course of his membership resulting in the same direction. Seems to be implied from the mods post. Again, who knows, but endless waves of personal gripe threads are not needed, not in that way, anyways. That forum is hard enough to navigate as it is, with its 30 sticky threads, and everyone feeling the need to make a new thread about the same exact subject 37 times.

The moderators have been merging threads all week and they're running out of patience. According to @ManteoMax he has personally merged about 150 threads since launch, the forum is moving so fast that people can't catch up or see that a thread is already active. That and that forum's search tools are awful.

With so many users over there it would also be a nightmare if everyone posted in the same few threads. People's intent to discuss specific subjects would quickly get drowned out within the more general threads. I'd also say it's an oversimplification to write everything off as the venting of gripes. That does happen a lot over there but this game also calls for lots of frustration. But anyway, I probably wouldn't have brought it up if it had been handled in a more civilized manner. It just gives the wrong idea when the thread raises a very good point.

For your first example. Is it me or is the guy not aware that the Xbox One has been over worked for FM7. On FM6 the game was at the very limit of what the console could do graphically and for FM7, Turn 10 did something a few of the hard core racing fans wanted them to do... Scale down the graphics for the sake of the Framerate.

It maybe me?

Maybe he is, maybe he isn't, but it doesn't really affect the point.

IMHO the real problem is that past abuses and the poor attitude of certain members of the Community Team have ended up creating this vision of the fm.net forums as a place where dissent is not tolerated, which is also applied in situations like this where the venting of gripes (because yeah, 98% of times, that's what it is) gets grouped up in one thread.

And when most threads are actually based on a poor understanding of the game mechanics, how can they raise a good point?

I'm not too pleased that the autocross rivals mode is broken and doesn't actually require you to go through the gates at the moment. I just spent ages trying to get a clean run on the absolutely fiendish autocross challenge at Virginia only to discover that my initial attempt, full of mistakes and knocked over gates, was faster and was the one that got counted.

Some tracks and layouts don't have a proper pit lane. For example, pre-race on Suzuka West and Top Gear will place the car on the middle of the track. There are probably more examples of primitive facilities in the game.

Many thanks guys, I didnt think of that but it makes complete sense.

Meanwhile IMSA has announced a strategic partnership with the game so hopefully we some more up to date cars from this.

https://www.imsa.com/news/102017/imsa-announces-strategic-alliance-forza-franchise

The International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) today announced a strategic alliance with the award-winning, world-renowned Forza franchise developed by Turn 10 Studios and published by Microsoft Studios.

This alliance includes a multi-faceted platform of activation highlighting IMSA cars, tracks and partners already aligned with the franchise which is home to the largest online racing community in gaming. Earlier this week Turn 10 launched Forza Motorsport 7, the most comprehensive, beautiful and authentic racing game ever made on Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs.

Argh, nearly beat Josef Newgarden but I went wide on the last turn and dirtied my lap, which was about a 1:47.1 I think... then later on I went wide again, and on the next lap I got a 1:47.54, but it was dirty because I'd gone off in the last lap. Best clean lap I've been able to do in 20 laps is a 1:48.2.

Hello all. Today my son asked me if I'd purchase FM7 for him. I'm a PS4 user personally. Has the release been pretty smooth on the Xbox One? We've been dealing with a fair amount of bugs on Project Cars 2, and I'd prefer to wait if things are rocky with FM7. A few non game breaking issues can be expected and overlooked. I just don't want to go pick him up a source of frustration. Thanks for your opinions. Also, would the deluxe version be cost effective? I usually end up buying him new DLC packs like NASCAR, Porsche pack, etc.

Your system seems fine the Ram is lower than mine [I have 16gb] same processor, 1050TI card 4gb and also on a 7200rpm HDD. Unless it is some other software running on your PC then I can't think of anything else to look for

It did appear to be a corrupt file somewhere. I uninstalled and reinstalled the game, and so far it doesn't seem to be an issue anymore.

Something caught my attention in that IMSA article, which is word for word the exact same one found on the Racer website:

More than 100 historical IMSA cars are available within the game which features over 20 official partners of IMSA including Acura, Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Ferrari, Ford, Honda, Lamborghini, Lexus, Mazda, McLaren, Mercedes Benz, Mini, Nissan and Porsche.

:odd:

Looks like we're getting the RCF GT3.

Amy's got something to tell us again:

We don't know anything yet, for all it's worth it could have been a typo, or the article might have been written before Toyota threw their toys out of the pram and no one proof-read it since.

Edit: Also completely unrelated, I just beat someone with the gamertag of 'G Shedden", complete with the profile picture of said 3 time BTCC champion. Surely it's just some kid roleplaying and I did not actually beat a 3 time BTCC champ, right?

Toyota's beef was regarding their production road cars though, and I don't think they have direct control over licensing of race cars unless they're factory teams. I'm not gonna say it's a guarantee or anything, but considering we have NASCAR Camrys and a couple of 30+ year old racers already in the game, I don't think they're going to throw a hissy fit over a couple older Lexus race cars either.

Game is largely smooth on Xbox One. There are a few things that cause the game to crash however, mainly livery editing and big Multiplayer Lobbies, but the Single Player is rock solid.

Ultimate Edition gives you a discount on the Car Pass, which covers the next 6 months of DLC. If you buy a physical Ultimate Edition you also get a scale model of the Porsche 911 GT2 RS.

PJ answered the gameplay above, so in regards to your ending question, if you typically buy him all the DLC, the Ultimate Edition may be worth your money as it includes the Car Pass over the Deluxe edition for $20 more where as the Car Pass on its own is $30. So, you basically get the first 6 packs for $20 if you swing for the Ultimate Edition where as normally, they'd cost you $42 altogether if you purchased them as they released.

The trade off with the Car Pass though, is you get what they give you which is always a "fun" topic every month. If he doesn't mind though, that's what I'd recommend personally.

Wow, that Polaris Spec race in the Seeker Championship was a hair-puller!
I spent half the race (6-7 laps) at Maple Raceway Short with a steady gap to the next car in front...and then I realised I was braking too early for the 3rd turn. :embarrassed:

Best thing I found was to stiffen the suspension right up, it stops the buggy lolling about and means you can take the corners faster without losing speed.

Was out racing last night in free play and saw some run away AI in the GT class. My brother was also racing same track same class and same time as me and we were chatting as we ran the race. The race was at Homestead oval, 50 laps, Forza GT cars unbeatable AI, no collisions. Both of us driving one of the Lambos but not the same one. Now normally we should smoke the AI with ease but both of us saw some of the AI cars putting distance between us. by lap 10 it was clear that there was no way to win this race. I thought I need to see which car that is up front as it is oboviously quite a lot faster than the one I picked.

At some point around lap 20 I see a car screaming past me and to my surprise it was the 1st place car which just happened to be the same car I was driving. By the time the race was over both me and my brother were two laps down to the lead lambo and 2 laps up on several of the other cars. In the end he posted the #1 leaderboard time and I posted at #2 yet we both got smoked. When looking at the AI time it was almost 1.5 seconds faster on its lap time.

After the race I thought that maybe there was something going on with the car so I reset it to the setup the AI would have been using and took it to the track to find that it was over 1 second slower per lap that the build I was racing. I then rebuilt the car back to what i was running, exited the game, started again and this time set it to 10 laps. I was able to win without a problem fastest AI times were still fast but not as fast as the first race. This time they were turning their fastest laps on par with what I was turning. My brother also restarted his game and tried again and once again the AI was running away.

In my first race the fastest AI was turning 29.001 lap times, In my second race the fastest AI turned 30,402 lap times. If I drove the same setup and the same line as the AI in the same car it would only do 31.6xx lap times. My brothers race the AI was also getting very low 29s where as he got a 30.34x and I got a 30.43x during the race.

So I do not know what was up there, I had saw the AI do something like this on Indy in FM6 where the AI was getting 2-3 seconds per lap faster than the car was capable of. I tried to look at the replay last night to see how fast the AI was going but for some reason was never able to actually select the lead car to see any details.

Anyway that was a first, never had I been lapped by an AI car on an oval track unless of course I was running a totally inferior car or had a major mishap along the way where as last night I ran an almost flawless race and did not stand a chance.

Well yesterday I got all the cars available to buy. Most were free thanks to the Daytona glitch and ram method. Now I’ll focus on my career. Benefit for the glitch is now when I do the races I’ll save money/time wanting to buy a certain car for the championship. Now I can complete it faster.

I'm actually amazing that they've made the AI worse from the previous games. Anyone who complains about PCARS 2 AI should experience this just to see how much worse it could be.

There are many issues with the game. Not game breaking, but lots of frustrating issues for now. I regret not waiting around to see how things might change in the coming weeks.

Try setting limit aggression to off. It seems to be backwards, I've enjoyed racing the AI a lot more since I changed this setting.

I can't say one way or the other as to Ai in PCars 2, between the initial issues with getting the wheel set up, the downshift issue and the fact that the brakes do not work properly I pretty much quit trying to drive on the circuits in that one for now. My initial impression was PCars 1 was a lot better. Maybe after some updates PCars2 will be ok but as it is right now I would much rather play Forza.

In other words, you don't agree. I'm not expecting people to always agree with me like I don't always expect to agree with others, but my posts reflect how I see things.
Didn't say that. You just have a tendency to blow things out of proportion with damnation. I agree with you on many aspects, but I also think a lot of the time it's extremely nitpicky.
