Gran Turismo 6 E3 2013, General discussion(Live streaming links).

Man some of the variations of Willow springs is going to be awesome for slower and smaller cars/karts

(piccie snip - just look up there)
The track complex on the lower right has a crazy number of possible variations depending on how PD wants to set them up.

And it looks like we will be able to run off into the dirt by a fair amount, hopefully
I hope so too. PD has been known to open up off track areas before, at least in certain tracks. This is something else we should harp about.

OMG  I feel like a kid in a candy store again....is that bad for a 53 year old.
The trailer, screenshots and info supplied thus far all show much promise. :)
Also, looking at screenshots, do the tyre wear indicators now have a "number" relating to something significant??
Tyre wear?
Tyre pressure?
Laps til they need changing?
Laps completed??
In any case, bring it ON! Demo will do for starters, give me time to get used to the new feel, ready for a late year full release. 👍

The SLS isn't silver for once. That's good to see, but I'm ready to see a livery on it in the game.

Edit: Is it normal for a demo to have a reduced number of cars before release (just 6 cars)?

"Big Willow" is quite a bit of fun, and trickier than you'd think. I did a time trial there back when I had my MR2. (There are some pics in my car thread, I think including one of it parked in front of the timing tower you can see in some of PD's screenshots.) Streets of Willow (the one in the bottom right) is a really popular track and has tons of config options. The one I'm really hoping for is the upper right one, Horsethief Mile, which was specifically designed to emulate a twisty mountain road, and looks like tons of fun. It's popular for drifting. What the satellite view doesn't really show is that right "above" Streets, the hill gets decently steep, so Horsethief is almost like a smaller real-world version of GT's Eiger Nordwand.

There's an autocross/drift track up at the center north of the image, "The Balcony," which I did a drift event in when I had my S14, not sure if there's enough to it to warrant inclusion in a GT game. The Kart track on the left would be a good move, though. There are also a couple ovals and some off-road trails. I think there's some way they can set part of the place up as a 1/4 or 1/8 mile dragstrip, too.

Anyway, IIRC Sony said "we're not announcing any more configurations at this time." The "at this time" makes me hopeful for the rest of the complex. The large number of distinct tracks in one location would definitely be a compelling reason for PD to model Willow Springs, since they could get three or more tracks out of one world model.

What they have shown apart from the trailer and the 84 pictures? Have them shown anything more?

Online features, livery editor... anything?

More comes tomorrow after the game us played. :)

Ok, thx for the answer!!

PLEASE, SOMEONE OF YOUU, TRY THE AUDI S1 IN THE BRAND NEW CIRCUIT CALLED Matterhorn!! :):):):)

And also the Z4 in Willow!!

Thank youuuuuuuuuuuuu!

Probably nothing more officially at E3. Anything discovered now will be down to people playing the demo and uploading pictures and videos.

Next reveal will be at Gamescom in Germany and then finally at the Tokyo Games Show.

Although since they did a little reveal at the Nurburgring 24 hours, so possibly they could do the same at the Le Mans 24 hours race and maybe the Spa 24 hours as well.

That is dissapointing ,I know there were so many games new features might not be as exciting as it is but announcing 3 cars and a track at E3 :indiff:

The photomode location from 1.15 minute is my city. Siracusa. The name of location is Duomo Square - Siracusa (or Piazza Duomo). It is located in the South of Italy, Sicily. Yeaaah check on google!!

There could be some interviews, but I don't think they have any more presentations scheduled.

This is what I have noticed:
1) The position is shown in a GT2 style. LOVING IT!
2) The announcement said “Beginning with GT3″. This bodes well
3) The lighting in the trailer is simply sublime, but the colours are just a little off still
4) The shadows on the smoke/gravel are very slightly jagged
5) The sky is similar to GT5 although it looks like the texture size has been increased
6) As with the other GT games, the mountains are modelled beautifully
7) Adaptive tesselation is working very well here, and the edges of cars do look smoother as well from the HDR engine, just like real life
8) It doesn’t look like GT6 will have the old GT style of picking tracks where you pick the location and then switch the layout. That’s a shame I think
9) I think perhaps all tracks will have time change of some sort, and more importantly I think temperature of the track is now important, as shown on the Grand Valley start screen.
10) The rear view mirror is now much much better than the previous GT games. In fact, the entire HUD looks great and it incorporates parts from the old GT games.
11) Car reflections have been much improved. Either that or the paint properties are more lifelike, resulting in the better reflections
12) Interiors look more realistic, but there is still some blockiness present in some parts. Also some interiors look a little too clean
13) Tyres still have this strange shine on them, which detracts from the visual realism unfortunately
14) A lot of small details have been added to tracks, giving them a sense of being alive
15) Diffusion of artificial lighting is much more realistic and smoother
16) Unfortunately, tyre deformation does not seem to be present (yet?)
17) Sounds seem much improved in general, especially during gear shifts or off throttle moments.

:dopey:

Right front of the SLS deforming?

See, I thought that, but if you look at the clip with the red Alpine in it, it looks as though the tyre partially goes through the ground when it lands... but it's sketchy information at best for now. I do hope that tyre deformation is there...

Uhm.

Am I the only one who is tired of those software rendered trailers? Am I the only one who would just like to know something more about "real" stuff? I mean, all this song and dance is great to produce hype, but it's not telling me whether I have to wait for GT6 or sell the PS3 and play Forza4 until some decent granturismo is released on nextgen (say, 2017?).
So far, this is not the trailer of a racing game: this is just car porn. So here goes a little list of things I consider "vital" for this new release: should any of them be missing, I'm not buying this.

1) I don't care that much about cars not getting damaged, BUT in 2013 -let's not say "realistic" - let's just say "not hilarious" collision physics is a must.

2) I'm not a big fan of online racing. Should GT6 have something even approaching that horrible mess that A-SPEC mode was in GT5, it can stay on the shelf. That's not difficult to improve.

3) I can't stand to see another "rolling start", and the possibility for qualifications must be implied. That, again, is not difficult.

4) Sound: they can leave the sound as bad as it is, for what I'm concerned, as long as they get rid of that annoying sound that tires produce everytime you skim the wheel with a finger.

5) 163 new cars are ok for me, provided that 132 are not Nissan or any other Japanese cheap junk.

6) AI. AI is vital, and I'm not expecting a state-of-the-art one. I just expect it to -at least- try to match the competitors.

So, again: am I the only one who firmly believes that BEFORE showing polished trailers at sunset they should reassure us that -at least- the most horrible flaws from GT5 are gone?

I would agree with the above if it was an event other than E3, but most people watching just wanted to see a spectacular looking driving game.

Anyway, DeltaWing confirmed means launch day buy for me. Easily one of my favourite cars to come out of Le Mans.

^ I'm with you on most points, but definitely not the racist #5 talkin about cheap junk from japan... Sure the Kei cars and such are a bit ridiculous, but I KNOW you arent calling the autos produced by Toyota, Honda, Mazda, Nissan, and Subaru - junk.

Especially Toyota and Honda. Those companies are in rare air- producing products for the customer that are actually built to last. Ha. "On a Clear Day You Can See GM"

;)

I also would like to see if more of the problems with GT5 have been addressed. PD can only distract me with fancy trailers for so long. They are quite misleading if GT5 is anything to go by.
