Gran Turismo 6 E3 2013, General discussion(Live streaming links).

^ I'm with you on most points, but definitely not the racist #5 talkin about cheap junk from japan... Sure the Kei cars and such are a bit ridiculous, but I KNOW you arent calling the autos produced by Toyota, Honda, Mazda, Nissan, and Subaru - junk.

Especially Toyota and Honda. Those companies are in rare air- producing products for the customer that are actually built to last. Ha. "On a Clear Day You Can See GM"

;)

You see my avatar picture? It seems like I drive a Toyota Celica. So I must not be completely against Japanese cars, after all. What I'm against is 60% of the cars being Japanese. And by the way, racism is about people, not cars :sly:

I also would like to see if more of the problems with GT5 have been addressed. PD can only distract me with fancy trailers for so long. They are quite misleading if GT5 is anything to go by.

Agreed. One exampleI was saying in the PS4 E3 discussion thread was that it would be good to see the motion-tracking feature with the PSEye from GT5 fully wok in GT6

The term 'Japanese' is in fact a racist term, so try to avoid that

I am thinking bout the moment when appears the GT3 cars making what it seems to be a warm lap, going side to side of the track...

what do you think?

Uhm.
5) 163 new cars are ok for me, provided that 132 are not Nissan or any other Jappo cheap junk.

That word is considered derogatory. Just so you know.

Honda still make airplanes, don't they?

As someone has said, I hope the new +200 cars aren't all japanese cars..

They won't be. Just look at the SLS GT3, LCC Rocket, KTM X-Bow, Z4 GT3, Tesla Model S etc.

Incidentally, the proportions of cars in Gran Turismo by region are:
GT1 - Japan 89.9%; Europe 3.7%; North America 6.3%; Other 0%
GT2 - Japan 67.4%; Europe 21.4%; North America 11.1%; Other 0%
GT3 - Japan 63.2%; Europe 24.7%; North America 11.6%; Other 0.5%
GT4 - Japan 62.0%; Europe 24.8%; North America 11.4%; Other 1.7%
GT5 - Japan 60.4%; Europe 26.5%; North America 12.0%; Other 1.1%

If these figures are likely to continue in GT6, at least it'll be something.

On a side note, I'll wait to pass proper judgement on GT6 until the full game is released. I'll also download the demo in July for a taster.

Right front of the SLS deforming?

After some quick editing in photoshop, sadly that's just a logo that appears on the right spot and make it looks like a deformation :P

I don't know if you're avoiding pre-existing facts to strengthen your 'PD only makes japanese cars' argument, but virtually all the new cars we've been shown are non-Japanese.

I don't know why people say things like this, when we've already seen plenty of new European and American cars.

Because the fact that the four or five cars we've seen so far are European/American by no means imply that amongst the other 190 there's not going to be like... 89 skylines. AND we do know how PD works. Hope they prove me wrong this time, though.

The photomode location from 1.15 minute is my city. Siracusa. The name of location is Duomo Square - Siracusa (or Piazza Duomo). It is located in the South of Italy, Sicily. Yeaaah check on google!!

Thank you for the info m8! Good for you all there. Free (?) advertisement. 👍

It seems to me that PD originally found it much easier to create partnerships with Japanese manufacturers. So, in the early days and continuing today they get better access and easier access to Japanese cars due to those long-standing partnerships.

In the case of GT5, so many of the cars (standard) were old assets from GT4. So, the count of Japanese cars in the count is inflated. As PD continues to progress in the premium car modeling (new assets), the percentage of Japanese cars will continue to drop.

So, I wouldn't worry too much about newer cars being a high percentage of Japanese cars. In fact, it seems they are starting to swing the other way. If I'm not mistaken, Japanese Manufacturers do not make close to 60% of the premium cars in GT5.

Do you know how PD works?

40% of the premium road cars in GT5 were European, 40% were Japanese and 20% were American.
(DLC cars are not included)

The 60% nonsense relies on counting the standard cars and that is all old work. There's no reason to take that ratio as an indicator on their current philosophy.

Well, nobody asked them to include the old work. But since they did, it must be included in the statistics: there IS sense since those cars will be once again part of this "new philosophy" game. I wish they could, but no: they can't be just archived as "old cars, old work", because they're still there, and will be there for a while. Besides, GT5 had a premium Cappuccino and a standard Veyron. This more or less resembles what I mean when I say that "we know how PD works".

If you have an official source for this I would like to see it, not a single picture of an unconfirmed flyer.

From the official Playstation Blog website (click here for link) I found this quote:

"The course maker will also include a new GPS data feature, which will increase the freedom of track creation in the game."

That's sounds to me like they're saying you can import GPS data into the Course Maker to help with making track layouts.

Invisible walls...

There's a video of some GT:A winners doing a time trial event thing at Silverstone, on one you can see Lucas Ordonez spin out at the last corner and drive over a fairly sizable chunk of grass to rejoin the main straight. The sort of grassy area that you'd expect in GT5 would have had invisible walls to stop you, like for example the Top Gear Test Track has a few feet of grass right by the track then a thin line of bricks or something that sort of denotes where the invisible wall is.

It's just on that one corner at Silverstone but it makes me wonder if the invisible walls may be also be moved back somewhat on other tracks too, at least new ones.

Ok can somebody explain to me why we haven't seen any actual informations at E3, although Mr. Yamauchi has told they didn't want to talk about everything at 15yr. celebration - to save something for E3 and following shows??!

There are 3 days left until it ends, have some patience my friend :)

Honestly I would much much rather drive that Cappuccino with the race mod than a Veyron even if the Veyron was premium and the Cappuccino was standard.

I really don't get the appeal of the Veyron. I mean sure it is powerful and does well as a drag car and straight line top speed but the car is ugly and drives like a brick. I would have been fine without it even being in the game.

Clearly you were referring to the new cars that PD is adding to GT6. Don't try to dance around now and talk about everything else.

Look at ratios of cars added since GT4 then.

I feel like all the people complaining about too high a proportion of Japanese cars are moaning about an issue that, deep down, they know is being rectified.

True. Both are dubs, and thus we can't interpret anything about car sound improvements from them.
