Are there any more details about the standard cockpit view? Being a translation I'm not sure if I should take that to mean only standard cars that have a premium version will have it now? I would just about kill to have a cockpit view on a few cars that don't have a premium version.

Any open cockpit cars will obviously be granted the view. I'm thinking a few various classics as well. Some are quite detailed when it comes to their interiors. Just have to wait now and hope for the best.

It's as simple as all standard cars will have cockpit view. They won't be premium quality, they'll just have an interior and cockpit view. Everything just as EliteDreamer said. Although it should really be, "Any open cockpit cars will obviously be granted interior details." and cockpit view

He's here for 6 years, and with that post count, his experience should be used in more useful stuff 👍
That's a good point, but it doesn't make it any less wrong on either of our parts. Humans have strengths and weaknesses, but this forum isn't about rankings so everybody has their fresh insight they can provide. Unless, this is a science.

I'm sorry, I just found this thread and I haven't had the time to read the nearly 130 pages thus far. From what you're saying they've actually added interiors to all the cars? That is really very neat.

Agreed. There is no difference in value from someone who has been here a few months or a few years. However it does seem that new posters aren't afforded that here at GTPlanet by SOME long term members.

Toronado
Do I know you? Because you seem awfully confrontational considering you were the one who was just calling for everyone to take a step back.

No, you don't know me, but from reading a few of your posts I can see you're very argumentative. And I wasn't being confrontational, let's get that straight right now. I was simply stating a fact, and wasn't yelling generalities about anybody. Although, I can take my generalities and my opinions to your bronies thread, and fill it with pointless flame wars just like you have here, and be confrontational, would you like that? And I'm still not looking to start a fight, I'm just trying to make you understand, that after being a member for so long, you should have a lot more to offer to this forum.

Parkour's got a point. You're (Toronado) very literal and precise about every word a person uses in his sentences, then you find out a way to twist everything around as though everybody else has it wrong.

Literal and precise are the key words, he just keeps twisting sentences! If he would just back off and be the mature one, he wouldn't have to resort to making somebody else look like the bad guy.

And Toronado, remember, if you don't wanna be hated, don't be a hater.

Standards, your cockpit you is like running around in a carboard box with the sides cut out to look like windows. However, the open wheel ones got better treatment..

You know what's sad in all these rewind jokes. In the old days, players would practice a track lap after lap to get it right. Corner after Corner looking for the right driving line and topping your last lap time. The good old days.

Now we have people requesting hand holding trapeziums. If this was a Need for speed or Grid then i would understand. But these are people who are supposedly GT fans. I simply cannot believe somone who plays and lives GT would request such a feature. Simply cannot.

Just step away from GT a little bit and venture out to another game called Dark souls. Oh i would love someone to tell a DS fan about introducing rewind in to that game. And that's crux of the issue.

Gran Turismo makes you a better player. It doesn't hold your hand. You jack up a corner you try it again. I remember the formula GT A Spec races. The sheer tension of the last lap knowing full well that a slip would cost me places which is so hard to get back. That's what seperates GT from other games. The sense of achievement. It's something built over a decade spanning 5 installments of the series. It's what makes it unique.

And yet certain people want it to be another clone. Another run of the mill game. Another easy game. All i can say Thank goodness Kaz didnt add it. I never doubted him but it's easy to fall into the mindset of pleasing everyone and yet this mentality often accomplishes nothing in the end. And it also makes GT lose it's greatest assest. It's greatest feature which surpasses all other games. It's called individualism. It has craved a spot in racing games for itself. Uniqueness is often to attain in a crowded market like the gaming industry. Kaz knows this and copying a feature which dilutes the series would turn it into another arcadey game which they are literally swarming around in the market.

Thank You Kaz. Stay true to your ideas and your philosophies. It's what makes me buy this series over and over again. The moment this is lost would be the day i part away from it

very well spoken

I wonder if "expanded online lounge features" means options for proper Qualifying sessions.

It'd be a god-send for league races and the like.

Wow. Reading what vandaliser wrote... I agree... 10,000,000,000,000,000%... Although, I do also agree with GTOne2Three about the livery... But lets not start another argument spanning useless number of pages....

Above statement (about "cannot believe") is an expression of 'purism' or 'elitism' towards the game that I don't fancy, and saying "that if someone could DARE to request such a feature is UNBELIEVABLE", is just another way of saying "I don't want it, and so is everybody wanting it wrongdoers and not a true GT'er"...

It is a GAME, for crying out loud....!!
And not all play it as a "sim" but as recreational activity...

Personally, I won't be using the "rewind"-feature, if it should be implemented, just as I haven't liked/used it in the 'arcade'-games I have played having the feature. But that should not keep others from having the opportunity to play the game the way they want to..
Not everybody want to redo another 20 lap in rain at Suzuka in FormulaGT (or maybe the whole championship), because of a to heavy foot on the last lap...

But I do agree with Vandaliser about that Kaz should hold on to make the game HE want it to be.. And if he see a benefit to include "rewind" due to feedback from customers (which include others than us at GTP..!!), so be it.. I won't complain, as long as I have the opportunity to just not use it..
If somehow it should be forced upon me.. Then I would raise my voice, to speak against it..

To stay on topic, I don't think that a 'rewind'-feature will be part of Spec 2.0-update.. at all.. :sly:

Anyway the 5 million credit bonus for the new seasonal, leads me to believe the 20 million credit cap may go in the update.

Hopefully they do. I always have to buy a car for the sake of it before doing the seasonals due to the cap. Speaking of Spec 2.0 update, surely the physics update will mess things like time trials up unless all it is a very minor change and does not effect performance in time trials.

Quite so. And in that spirit, the question that should be asked is "Does this feature contribute to the general gameplay design?"

Well, it doesn't. Grid introduced the rewind feature for a reason, and that was to leverage the effects of race ending damage. This was one of the core gameplay elements: being able to total the car in a race.

In GT5, there is no race ending damage in offline mode. It's not even an option. Thus a rewind feature doesn't add anything to gameplay and consequently is not included.

The also aren't any magic mushrooms, banana skins, machine guns, coins, giant apes, lost princesses, air planes, terrorists or girls in short skirts. Get over it.

And to stay further on topic, GT Spec II deserves a big 👍 for adding some of the most wanted (mid-race saves) and some of the most welcomed (generic to quite good looking cockpit view for standard cars) features, along with improved AI and physics.

The Schulze GT-R is a pure fan service and I'm glad the included the car finally.

That's more than enough for me and I'm eagerly awaiting Tuesday.

I love this place. No matter if you are "right" or "left", there is passion everywhere over a video game.

Somewhere Kaz is smiling. :)

I doubt it will but I'm crossing my fingers. I think it has something to do with the stupid ''Penniless'' trophy.

That's what Kaz says on Twitter. You didn't need to read the thread to find that out. On this thread, we're discussing, debating and speculating.
