GT6 Career Mode, Thoughts?

PD aren't always the smartest, but they know they wouldn't have around 18 races or so. And calm down.
I did an internet survey recently where I looked at the 14 quadrillion posts ever made on the net and below are the links to where one person told another to calm down and it was relevant and it worked:

i am sure i have seen a creen shot of 1 of the more advanced level races with like LMP GT500 GT3 and other types of race series.

Assumptions are not the same as confirmations.

But one thing I do find intriguing is the inclusion of the "classes" in this dealership view. This could suggest that cars are unlocked when licences acquired. But I'm not sure what they're in this picture for, I'm only trying to understand it.

The classes in the dealership is possibly just a way to class the cars by performance. I doubt the cars will no locked like GT5. As it stands we know that their are 6 classes of races, n, b, a, ib, ia and s. I think it's safe to assume that of those classes n is most likely to have the least number of races. Hopefully GT6 will have a lot more events overall than GT5 but I think we're definitely going to get more than 3 per class of event overall.

That's fair enough, but there's no "n" for Novice in that picture under the "Class" section.

No that's because the picture above is from the dealership menu's, there is a pic from the main screen with the 6 racing event classes on. I can't link it because I'm on my phone but have a gander around and you should find it.

Yes I know which screenshot you mean, I posted it in another thread. And that's why I say, if your hypothesis was correct, then why is there no Novice class in the Dealership section in your screenshot? That was my question.

Best I can tell from the various material, the dealership side is a way of filtering cars so that you can find cars for a particular event fairly easily.

Ahh sorry I'm with you now. For some mental reason I assumed you were talking about the racing events even though its obvious what you were saying. That is a good point, I can't reay answer that. Hopefully the cars aren't restricted in that way and they just have 5 general performance classes of car.

With the new Demio, Fit and Vitz, Im looking forward to some Super Taikyu action. The Mm-R, Polo, Lupo Cup cars and Spoon Fit race car are already in the game. If PD offer us the right aero upgrades and possibly a generic roll cage, this will be fun.

The Abarth 500 will be a welcome addition to vs. the 86 race car, S2000, Civic Type R and MX5. Im waiting on an MX5 update.

I am very worried about this new career mode. GT5's almost seemed like a demo compared to previous titles. What angered me the most was how random and lacking of sense the events were, and how they seemed to be something that PD organized in just a day or two.

After seeing the pictures, I am terrified that the career mode looks even smaller and more neglected than before. I truly don't know how difficult it can be for PD to come out with something as good as GT2, GT3 and GT4. Especially GT4 that held a replay value like no other career mode, with it's prize system and all.

I will be very disappointed if races loose any purpose of being done again, like one-time only prices and all that crap that GT5 had.

Also; that new "star system" seems to be the same leveling system in disguise. It's still too soon to judge, but for the looks of it, it wouldn't be risky to say that PD didn't put much thought and effort into career mode. I hope I'm wrong.

I can say this. I just went tinto the lobby for the Europe/Australia region.
42 rooms for fun
21 rooms for real
2 rooms for drift
27 rooms for free run
It is 910am down here. If PD are taking data from how online players play the game, career mode will be treated as such. Not much emphasis on depth. Just enough to get those online players started and into seasonals. Those of us preferring an in depth Career Mode will have to be creative it seems.

I'm just thumbing trough GTPedia, and the amount of events that could be added is mind boggling. They have done it before, they can do it again. Also I remember an interview somewhere with Kaz, where he said the amount of events in GT5 was too small, so they are aware of it. You just wonder if they are going mad for all the features again while neglecting the core game.

In my own opinion, the shortest endurance can´t be bad, except if they do a really brilliant work (that they didnt on GT5).

The endurances of GT5 were, for most people, very tedious. They are so boring that sometimes they look like a punishment. That happens because the IA (EDIT: I mean AI) is not competitive and can´t be setup for that. If it only were setupable as it is in arcade... With more competitive PCs, it would look better. For those who puts the fun ahead the first position, setuping a good PC, a good combination of car, can be a lot of fun if the game doesn´t charge you to be on the first place.

If the carreer mode is less fun than it is on GT5, it better be short. Otherwise would be a shame if it is too short (if it is really fun).

Endurance racing, with Mx-5's at Tsukuba, boring? I suggest you leave.

Could have been fun if the AI wasn't 20 laps behind

Thats close to my point. Not just that, but the fate that the AI gives room to you to pass when you get close on A-Spec mode, bringing almost zero competition to the race.

Weird how they have the new cars featured for NASCAR, Rally and Touring cars but not for Le Mans nor Super GT (even though they now have the R18 and the 2012 Honda HSV).

good spot, i do think i see a glimpse of the HSV in the background at the GT500 tough.

With a "wait and see" attitude well in hand, my take on this is that we will have a BUNCH of drastic grumbles while the children get separated from the babies, like in the GT Academy demo, and then we will have lots to do.

I see no reason for PD to have a small number of events, especially if THEY said it was small.

We shall see.

I'm hoping that what we've seen so far is more of an example of what's going to be included, rather than a screen shot of the finalised game. The potential for so many differing events and championships is endless when you consider how many different cars and manufacturers there are now compared to the earlier titles. If the 'career' mode is to be worth putting your time in to, it's going to have to be a major step up from the repetitive, one off style event, maximum of 3 laps per race that we painfully experienced in GT5. To start with, it needs structure. A bunch of races here, there and everywhere is not structure, nor does it make for any sort of enjoyment.

I'll wait it out and see for myself what the SP will be like. Although I'm not filled with any amount of confidence in what I'm expecting to see, come GT6's release, I sure hope that I'll be complimenting PD, rather than rigorously slating them.

I said this before in another thread, but it could be possible that the Novice category we've seen so far could just serve as an introductory stage of the carrer mode to give players a taste of what's to come in the later stages of the game. That's why I think there are only 3 events to do in there.

I think the Le Mans and Super GT cars will come under the Touring Cars category as GT cars are Grand Touring Cars.
