Speaking of preorders, if anyone interested in purchasing the Collectors' Asia edition from outside of Asia can do so here. It costs about $160 USD after shipping which isn't too bad...

Edit: All of their preorder slots have now been filled. Try again soon if interested

On this portion specifically:
"In GT6 we really had to tune the software 100 per cent to maximise the PS3's architecture..."

When I think about it (as business speak goes), that is probably as close to a criticism of the PS3's power being less than desirable for PD's graphic wants, as I've ever come across (could be wrong); usually you would read Kaz praising its power and complimenting it.

That makes sense though - the PS3, in its day, was a power house of multi vector, parallel processing silicon. 7 years have passed and things have moved on. It would be as unlikely as him now praising the PS2 for its technical prowess, which was, in the day, very impressive and much praised.

Just got back from playing a GT6 demo, was a smooth experience (although it was just one car on one track)

only did 3 laps(event rules) sadly assists turned on but even still the MP4-12c felt much more alive than in GT5.Physics are the best point so far.

The 100% tuning thing is likely referring to the heavy hand-holding and fiddly busy-work with scheduling on the SPEs, and it's in the SPEs that all that impressive power comes from.

Scheduling ("threading" etc.) is more "automated" on AMD's platform, and the memory is shared with both co-processors, meaning it's both faster and easier to access that parallel power on PS4 - should be interesting.

I too could be wrong, but I remember a lot of pointing at the PS3 as the reason for many of GT5's shortcomings. I certainly don't get the feeling that I've seen other devs so often mention the "limitations" of a system; they just build to them. That 100% bit also sounds familiar from GT5 times, of that game pushing the system right to its limits, etc etc. I'll have to do some quote-digging :-/

I just checked the Gran Turismo Facebook page, and here it what I saw:

I saw that. My comment was "Wait, the Deltawing is back in?"

Is that the official page? Not a fan page? I've liked them for a year bit never checked

This deal just gets funnier all the time.

Also in regards to the latest video: Great to see the AI fight so hard. Sure the AI had a more powerful car, but I usually have never seen the GT5 AI use that common knowledge apart from the straightaways and unless its your b-Spec driver, they never make opportunistic moves like that.

The day of release @Snej97, if you ordered through a Game Stop store you can get it at midnight if that store is holding a midnight release for the X Box One

No Slip, you're right as well, and my does Kaz love throwing around percents.

My interview memory doesn't seem to stretch very far post GT5. It seems that pre GT5 launch, Kaz was still praising the PS3:

http://www.joystiq.com/2010/01/14/yamauchi-gran-turismo-5-uses-80-of-ps3s-power/

"Speaking to VentureBeat, the Gran Turismo creator reckons the latest game in Sony's flagship racing series taps 'about 80 percent of the processing power' of the PlayStation 3, adding, 'the PS3 hardware has a very high peak performance. The better you manipulate it, the better it performs.'"

However, near launch and beyond, he was saying things like this:

http://www.techradar.com/us/news/gaming/kazunori-yamauchi-says-ps3-restricted-gt5-906363

"With each new PlayStation, the vessel has become bigger, but it's still not enough."

I’ve found some more Vision cars and I also found another for the Benz which seems to have two versions of the same car.

This one looks way to much a Citron GT an newer model.

Theres a difference in being a good system and it being enough. PS3 is not enough to give us 20 cars on track. Its not enough to do 1080P 60fps. Theres high limitations for that generation, but not enough to do everything he would like.

After doing a little research on the companies and what cars they my show through the Vision project, I found some of these companies own 7 to 8 other brands. They’re using the parent company name in the Vision Project, and show casing the other brands under that name. Gruppo Bertone alone has either designed or owned some of companies in the link. GT6 will have a lot to offer through the Vision project in the coming year I believe.

Addition:
We'll just have to wait until GT7 comes out in 2016 on the PS4 @trustjab to see if it can handle more than 16.

If so @sparkytooth then why are they listed as a parent company and not a designer? And what car I don't see no bloody car.

And my post clear states
"Either designed or owned"

@Zuel Bertone designs machines for other companies, they don't own any other companies. This VGT machine is under their name.

PS3 could easily do 20 cars, just not with GT5 quality graphics.

Ascari at speed, thanks to @05XR8 for posting the first one.

That guy in the radical was driving like a gt5 ai driver in the corners :sly:
+43 I was thinking the same thing. Only difference is the AI cars don't crab into the corners early, the AI know what a turn in point is.
In fairness this guys probably new and doesn't have any sight pictures for turn in, apex and exit yet.
