From the article:"GT7 is targeting a November release for a new patch that will add several new PS5 Pro-focused rendering modes, including a Raytrace Priority mode that adds eye-catching new car reflections."
Can't wait for everyone to get hyped (including me) just to recieve a regular update without anything special besides those aforementioned PS5 Pro-focused enhancements, which most of the players won't be experiencing.

Though I'm pretty sure there will be a noticable amount of cars, probably around 7-9.

Time to unpack that:
  • November release (part 1) - Guess the November update is going to be PS5Pro-specific to make up for not having a day-one update, with little to offer for those of us who aren't going to pony up high-triple/low-four figures for a console refresh.
  • November release (part 2) - I would not rule out a decent content drop in October because (and this might be the hopium talking) I just don't see PD going 5 months between content updates for the masses.
  • Several new PS5 Pro-focused rendering modes - We know of only two (both mentioned in the PS post), so there's hope that one of those will be an improved PSVR2 experience (not that I would know as I am a poor candidate for VR in more ways than one).

There it is, it sounds like 5 months to wait for 3 cars, 5 events, a free demo and features for an expensive console that just a few people will be able to afford...

Or bad redaction and is only specific for Pro patch but we should get at least another patch in October with regular content

The fact that it mentions "A new patch" as opposed to "The New Patch" doesn't necessarily scream to me immediately that November is when we get the next update. Still just waiting around, especially with a busy time at Tokyo in General between TGS AND the GTWC.

I’m glad you have said this cause I wondered myself.

By the wording, technically it doesn’t necessarily mean we won’t get an update in October - it’s rather that for when it comes to November specifically, it’s related to PS5 Pro as described.

So perhaps we shouldn’t count our chickens just yet…

Again, "A new patch" does not automatically mean there won't be an October Update. It just specifies that November is when a PS5 Pro focused update is scheduled.
The PS5 Pro launch is November 7th.

If there's an October update that is not the Pro update, it'd mean either we get two updates in about two weeks (not happening) or PD are missing the Pro's launch window for their support for it (not impossible, but it'd be a pretty bad look for them).

It's far more likely IMO that it's a July/August 2023 scenario, where the "October" update comes a week into November.

But will it come with flying cars?

I cant see them just release an separate update for ps5 pro patch, i think its more likely to have content along side it,

How big will the update be nobody knows. But pretty sure we get some info om either Tokyo gameshow or Tokyo live events,

If its not a major content update after like 3 months, it feels very likely the focus will already have been swifted towards gt8 or what the next game going to be called.

A bad look for PD are when they release updates anyway. To anyone who buys or are gifted a new PlayStation along with various games, if GT7 are one of those games, content updates don’t really matter. For those of us that have been playing since GT7 launch and still sticking around, content updates shouldn’t be expected. The most that should be expected are the various fixes for complaints which many still haven’t been addressed.

Just like GT Sport towards the end of its shelf life, if content for GT7 dwindles down to one car every six months, it is what it is. I continue to play the speculation game as well, but know I’ve spent my money on a studio that have always been unpredictable. Especially when the head of the studio has visions that are not my own.

Funny that the article includes a picture of a race between a bunch of different road cars - the thing most people know GT for, and the thing that GT7 almost entirely ignored. More Clubman Cup Plus please? Anyone?

No can do mate, it's too much work!

Here, have Gr.3 Bathurst three weeks in a row, though.

How many GT7 content updates have there been since launch? Around 20? And we shouldn’t expect content updates? LOL, good one.
“content updates”. I’d say there seem to be more screaming about fixes than content. Even with the many wish lists. We’re getting content, but certainly don’t expect it. Guess I’m one of one that feels if we get fine. If we don’t fine.

Yes, content updates. I didn’t say otherwise. Anyway, who’s we? Many people are expecting content updates, because there have been so many since launch.

Expecting a content update doesn’t rule out feeling fine if none is coming. It’s not like PD are breaking any promises when they don’t deliver a content update, although “we” have had reason to expect one every 4-8 weeks since mid 2022.

I said for those of us sticking around. You said “we”. I said “we’re”(the those of us sticking around). The those of us sticking around know not to expect anything. It’s always said time and time again in these threads not to get hopes up for a possible next update(whatever is in a possible update) and not to expect anything. Doesn’t matter if it’s a doom poster or sane member.

I mean, you know this: Someone will enter that chat and ask, “So when’s the next update?” Someone will say we don’t know. Someone will say GT7 is dead. Someone will say I’ve learned not to expect anything. Someone will say go play iRacing. Someone will say GT8 is coming next week. It’s a daily discussion.

This is the car that returning in the next update Nissan r390 GT1 race car gr.2 because we need more Gr.2 cars in GT7 we only have 10 cars in GT7 in Gr.2 maybe for a bonus car for a Gr.2 Bentley speed 8
There's a high(er) res version of the Bentley...it could happen. I'd LOVE to see that.

I absolutely don’t know what you’re talking about. GT7 has had so many content updates since the game was released two and a half years ago. Oftentimes on a monthly basis or every two months occasionally. Only now it seems to be a longer wait than usual, but there have been very valid reasons to expect a content update this month.

No update for 3 months so people with more money than sense can see more reflections yippee
The tech team working on PS5 Pro will have no involvement in 3D modelling, content creation or any aspect of DLC. In fact the last time we had a major technical update (PSVR2), it arrived with one of the biggest content updates to date. If you are interested in PS5 Pro or not, GT7 being heavily featured will boost sales and player numbers. It will also put PD in a good position for GT8 by updating their tools/engine to the cutting edge.
I'll be honest a demo for a game I've owned for 2.5 years doesn't do much to get my juices flowing either.
A demo at this stage of GT7's lifecycle suggest PD are far from done with the title. All indications are much more content will be coming down the line. If not, well, I guess GT8 is closer than many expect. People are expressing their frustrations because they have no idea what PD have planned. Personally, I'd be quite happy if PD moved to more substantial quarterly updates.
