I just wanna find another tenth on each, and then I'll submit. Although Willow is gonna be a bit more difficult to find the time.

Fianlly got a chance to have a short second go at this (yeah, I'll be lucky to get more than a few hours each week at this but I will persist). Willow feels really good and I'm happy with how my times are progressing but while I feel comfortable at Brands Hatch, I usually have issues getting the most out of race cars and I feel there's still a good chunk of time left to take off. Between the two I should be able to come up with a good sample overall and I suspect that is exactly what the qualifier is aiming to do, hopefully I'm not too far behind the pack.

I have been running Brands Hatch lately. After thinking there was no more, I surprised myself and found .2. Trying to improve results in me going off track at about an 80 - 90 % rate..

Keep blowing faster splits at penultimate timing point at brands hatch :banghead: :banghead:

Indeed. I just blew a lap that was probably 3 tenths faster in the last two corners and that would have been putting me near my limit as things stand.

Tonight's session has taught me that I can go faster than I thought even potentially, and that I need to give it more time. I'm able to match my best lap there or thereabouts more frequently than I would expect, which tells me that there's still quite a bit left; either that or I'm just getting better and finding more and more time. There's still too much time left at Brands to submit, but still logging that representative lap and then trying to better it is probably going to consume these next two weeks before the submission deadline.

I'm definitely improving as a driver and that makes it all the more difficult to determine when I have performed at a level that is representative of my ability. It's ironic, but I won't be surprised if in all my assumption that what I am doing now is high Div2/low Div1 standard if I end up much lower than that.

I see so much time available. Some is there for me to take. Some is within my reach but I probably can't log it, and some is obviously there but I just can't find the line/inputs to get it.

I'd kinda hate to qualify lower than I did last time after feeling that I'm driving better now than ever before, but I think it's quite possible. Willow really is the joker in the pack on the assumption that I can improve Brands close to my best-case scenario.

 HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL

Yay! :D Will upload my replay files to my laptop shortly :) Looking forward to finding out where everyone gets placed!
Happy New Year everyone! :gtpflag::cheers:

You done already mate ?

Well, with about 90 total hours invested in both of these, I continue on. Been battling the flu the last few days so things have been rough, but there is no rest for the weary. Just improved a bit more at Brands and now pretty close to the limit there. Improved slightly at Willow yesterday which also pretty much brings me to my limit there also. However, like I always did in the TT's, I will continue on right up till the deadline. So, the "warrior" marches on. ;)

Wow, and I thought 6 hours each was a bit too much time :), Good luck, hope you get that magic lap

I' m sure this has been mentionned many times... But damn the BMW combo is frustrating!! Of all the 20 thousand laps I started, less than 35 were actually done by going only forward haha... There is definitely 3 tenths left on the track for me but I'm not sure if I'll be able to get them.

Let's try the little Renault instead. :D

After around 3 hours of brands hatch I managed to find another 0.4 getting close to my goal now few more days il be ready to submit and let the fun begin

Thanks, but that's not the only goal here as I'm also thinking "big picture". ;)

90 hours! How do you ever hope to put in representative performances week in week out if you've put that much time in to the qualifier?

I made the mistake of putting too much time in to the GT5 qualifier, ended up in a division where I could never hope to compete and this pretty much put me off WRS'ing.

You apparently look at things a bit differently than I do. So what if I happen to be put in a division where I don't really belong. I take that as a positive, and not as a negative as you have done. Its a positive in the way that its only going to make me compete that much harder in order to keep up with everyone else in the division. I believe that if you surround yourself with and compete with people of a better skill set than yourself, it will only make you better in the end. That's the way I see things.

I'm just about done with this combo, usually in the weekly TT's I peak early and don't ever best my times. I threw away a best time, by .125, because on the first right-hander my left rear tire was 50% into the white line.

You will belong wherever your submitted times place you... you've run the laps 👍

I've spent the last 3 years surrounded by the fastest drivers in the World, trying (and failing for the most part) to compete with them... unfortunately everyone has a skill limit

Anyhow... good luck 👍

Well, in GT5, you were D1 Gold and a GT Academy finalist which coincidently, is MY ultimate goal. Our situations are a bit different and I feel I haven't reached my peak yet. ;)

I think I'm going to have to take a break for a few days now though. This flu is just totally kicking my ass right now to the point of being bed-ridden. I'll be back at it in a few days.....even a warrior has his limits. :ill:

Get Tamiflu. I had both strands of A and B flu, it helped so much. I was back to normal the next day

I tried submitting twice and failed both times(followed directions both times), it also didn't say why they were rejected on either occasion. Is there any way one of the WRS people could take a look at the reason?

Definatly not an easy one! je te comprend!
Goodluck im sure you will do well!

How does one change their ID to A GTP_ one? I'm not sure if I have the time or the skill to do this but if I do join up I;d like to go all out and use a GTP_ tag. Thanks for any help in this matter. Happy NEW YEAR to everyone as well

I guess you submitted the same replays twice and both combos' submissions cotravene the rules. We'll have to discuss how to procede now.

Note to everyone: Be careful to check settings in every session. Grip reduction, for example, resets to Low every time you start a new event. You only get one chance to get it wrong and everything is clearly outlined in the rules.

On here or PSN?

On PSN you have to make a new profile, to change your name here you need to be a premium member.

PSN I guess. That is what they would like to see right? Or what was required in the past to join to group. I guess I'm a bit confused on what they are talking about. I know it is not required now but still I guess it would be cool to show my support and respect for the cause.
EDIT: OK thanks

It's the PSN name, and the only downside at this point is you'd have to start a new gave save as a new profile on your PS3, with a new PSN account that has a GTP_ prefix.

Thanks Mike.

I'm more or less confident to be honest. Plus not having any split times from others doesn't help convincing that my time is ok hehe! But at the same time, I find that aspect quite nice actually. 💡
