If your still needing some break-in, that thing can run indy laps in seconds, so it shouldn't take too long if you wanna just grind it out ;)

I don't think you can enter the F1 car in any bspec race.

Yeah... I was just going to tune it running races in my lounge to add miles... though I suppose I could drop a brick on the gas pedal at Route-X. It should click off 300km pretty quickly at top speed.

I broke one in after 9 laps of route X. Lower downforce and it takes a touch over an hour. I used controller and elastic on the straight and just assisted in the turn. C spec.

I'll get those FR when I get home in about an hour.

I meant to suggest to do it aspec. Thats why I said it takes no time to run laps. Of course in bspec it doesnt really matter if it takes a long time because you can just let it run. :D

More like ZZZ.spec... ;)

Rubber banding the analog stick on an oval is great. This is of course the only time I miss being able to wall-ride. Rubber banded controller on a test course race was a great way to grind cash in the old games when the wall would do the turns for you. :sly:

Thanks on the FR's. 👍

We've had a last minute registration (GTP_Rph) so we're back again to only one confirmation away from splitting up the race into two rooms (10+8)... As of now though, there are 17 drivers and the two slowest qualifiers are going to be on reserve and fill in for any no shows or cancellations on Sunday.

Of course we'll know more tomorrow because there are always guys that end up cancelling last minute... in this case if someone doesn't show to knockout quali and hasn't pre-qualified they will be removed from the registration.

Calcifer -- I think you can't make the Saturday session so you should schedule your qualification race if you are still planning to participate in this GP. I'm available today and I'm sure there will be stewards available tomorrow before the knockout session starts.

EDK -- have you got an idea on your plans? If you can't make Saturday please pre-quali tonight.

Ren -- any update on Sunday?

The rest of you I assume are all systems go for tomorrow and Sunday.

Indeed, I'm tweaking my gearing. Still not comfortable with the hairpin.

crossing over your arms enough to scratch an itch on your thigh is never really "comfortable"

Whaha nice picture, says more than a 1000 words :P

We just ran a 10 lap practice race, with proper grid start procedure. If anyone wants to practice that they should join us ;) I'm sure we'll do another one in a few. Conclusion remains that running in dirty air below one second is near impossible, and will shred some tires...

I can't make that darn hairpin until my tires warm up... the first lap is going to be :mischievous: unless I figure it out.

Fighting hard to get in the 1:09's! Finding it extremely difficult going to have to look long and hard where I'm losing time in Sector 2 and 3! Lose .5 each time even on an amazing lap!

I can make the Q session, but the race time slot is Not Going to Happen for the next 10 weeks - someone's booked PT sessions

Only done a little bit of practice so far - in the low 12s offline, but I can see another second if at least two things go right on the one lap 💡

No problem with dropping if room is needed for those committed to race.

We will know tomorrow... Frank may pre-quali tonight and at this point I'm not expecting any of the reserves to be there for quali... But we will see. If we do run a 2nd room for Q1 I nominate you to be the director. :sly:

I'm gonna have to unregister. I'm moving house, was supposed to have it done by now but it's been pushed back to this weekend, which is really the only window I have to make it happen now. Just bad timing. Looking forward to catching the stream and praying for a clean race for you guys haha.

That's a shame, I watched the last multi-league race which you were broadcasting a while back, looked like great fun :)

Hopefully you will be able to tune in to some of the stream at least, like you said 👍

How about one that has a thousand words...

Was great fun racing with you guys, Twissy those laps of yours are scary 👍(You must have Kimi watchin' over youre shoulder) I bet even Immortal would have a hard time beatin' you...but I guess we will never know :) Also seen other very fast drivers, sometimes I have to grab my upper and under lip back togheter and smack myself one time to see if I am awake, incredibel how you guys fly buy.

All I can say is that I will do my best to stay out of everyones way, and dont get me wrong, being in the back does not mean I do not enjoy it. It will be big fun every lap out of the 78. And I will be the best moving chicane you guys have ever seen :D

To update the images I cancelled your registration for Sunday (from Reserve to Cancel). You should be fine to join on Sunday. Wardez has cancelled and Frank is on reserve so we should have room in the room. We are only running one room so as long as there is room you can join.

Eddie, I've cancelled you out for both Saturday and Sunday.

---

Frank ran pre-quali tonight so his time is in the books. He is unsure if he'll be home in time tomorrow so wanted to make sure he got a quali time. He will be allowed to join us "for fun" for knockout quali if there is room, but his pre-quali time is what is going to count for Sunday regardless. I put him on reserve status for Saturday.

At this point there are 16 confirmed for Sunday meaning the slowest qualifier is going to be forced on reserve. Calcifer is not registered for Saturday qualifying and hasn't scheduled a session yet so it looks like he'll be out unless we hear from him shortly.

Since we may be 16 for both events we're going to run in my lounge (GTP_WRP001) and most of you should already be on my Friends list or received a friend request today. On Saturday we'll enable mics. Lag shouldn't be much of a problem since we'll be in free run and spread out anyway. As long as we don't have any connection problems we should be good. If a few guys have a problem connecting we'll shut down the lounge and go mic-disabled instead, but IMO it'll be fun and easier to direct with mics*.

*Use the mics responsibly... keep noise or chatter to a minimum during the actual quali. If someone is making noise remember you can mute them from the lounge -- but don't mute me as I'll be giving instructions via mic if possible. We'll have a few minutes between each Q sessions where open chat will be allowed. Mics will definitely be disabled for the race on Sunday.

Does anyone have any questions on how qualification will work? The details are in the OP so make sure you are familiar with them:

Knockout Qualification

quali.jpg

Saturday's one-hour qualifying event is split into three sessions with a 5 minute break between each session to reset times:
  • Q1: 20 minute elimination round where the slowest drivers are knocked out and fill the last positions on the starting grid (Monaco: top 12 advance to Q2).
  • Q2: 15 minute elimination round where the slowest drivers are knocked out and fill the middle positions on the starting grid (Monaco: top 6 advance to Q3).
  • Q3: 10 minute shootout to determine pole position and the starting order for the top places on the starting grid.

Qualification Details:
  • Pits: In all rounds the pits are open for tire changes.
  • Laps: In all rounds drivers can run as many laps as they wish. Any lap started prior to the time cutoff is legal.
  • Tires: Drivers can use any approved tire compound during qualification. Drivers eliminated in Q3 or Q2 have their choice of compound to start the race. Drivers that advance to Q3 must start the race with the tires used during their fastest lap in Q3.
  • Cutoffs: The number of drivers that are eliminated in each round will depend on the total number of drivers participating in knockout qualifying. The cutoffs will be announced an hour prior to qualifying.
  • Lounge Limits: In the event that more than 16 drivers are registered for qualification, lounges will be split evenly for Q1 at the discretion of the stewards and the number of advancing drivers will be adjusted so that there are no more than 14 drivers for Q2. The lobbies will then merge for the remaining two rounds. A steward will post instructions to this thread, including which room drivers should report to, at least an hour before qualification.
  • Disconnects: If a driver DCs during qualification he/she is allowed to rejoin the lounge. If a steward has recorded their fast lap prior to the DC the lap will count otherwise only laps run after returning to the lounge and prior to the end of the session will count.
  • Interference: If a driver is deemed by the stewards to have stopped unnecessarily on the circuit or impeded another driver during qualifying, his times may be cancelled and the driver will be placed at the back of the grid for the race start. The stewards decisions are final. Should a driver spin, run off track, or lose control of his car he must wait for a clear opening in the track to return. If a driver is in a position where he is slower than the car behind him for any reason he must slow and yield his line so that the approaching driver is not held up. Drivers that interfere with another drivers' hot lap may incur a grid placement penalty at the discretion of the stewards.

Sorry to throw a spanner into the works but im 100% IN for Q and the race.

Maybe I'll stream the monaco race too on Sunday. Oink, if I do then please give me a shoutout on your stream and tell people to watch me. I'll be grateful if you do. Feel free to pop in everyone reading.

Oh BTW. If we ever end up with a mics off situation and you try to type gazziboy in the chat, it'll get censored. Stick with gaz.

We don't need to discuss anyone in this thread that's not racing and in particular extending an argument from another series that has nothing to do with this one. We are staying on topic so I edited your post. Bring up dirty laundry again in this thread and you'll get ejected from the series.

That being said glad you will race with us this event.

If you are lagging because of streaming we will ask you to shut it off. If there are no issues that's cool with us . The room will be full!! Note: Oink is not racing so won't be an issue for him or us.

I should hopefully make the Q on time today, got a race just before hand so might be a few minutes late. 👍

Just make sure you understand the rules and procedures as you will miss instructions. Q1 is 20 minutes so you should be OK. If you have connection issues well..,

All other drivers I expect you in the lounge at least 5-10 minutes before we start. The lounge will open about an hour before so if possible arrive much earlier. Work out connection issues well before Q1 starts.

At 5 before the start (21:55) all drivers will exit track for a drivers meeting and instructions/questions. If you are going to miss that please post to this thread to let us know. And if so you better be up to speed on the procedures and rules --- ask now in the thread if anything is unclear.
