Thanks everyone for a cracking show! First time putting together an actual show, and tomorrow is going to be bigger and better! You all had better drive well for the cameras! ;)

PS. Gooners, thought you might have snuck in on your very last lap in Q3, you had a great T1&2, but then lost it in T3. Would have caused an upset!

Looking at the saved stream (@18:53 on the video) the best laps of Q1 are from PASM, Spurgy and Twissy and had the following splits:

DR: PASM.. Spurgy Twissy
T1: 18.419 18.498 18.398
T2: 32.386 32.326 32.761
T3: 17.870 17.990 17.800
LP: 68.675 68.814 68.959

Bart didn't have any of the fastest sectors, but just an impressive overall lap.

From Q2 (@44:50):

DR: Twissy Gooner PASM
T1: 18.435 18.461 18.340
T2: 32.484 32.616 32.517
T3: 17.842 17.837 18.062
LP: 68.761 68.914 68.919

A couple important reminders
  • Don't forget to use both compounds during the race and that you are limited to two stints on Racing Soft tires.
  • Be careful not to "cut" the chicane.

WRS standard rules apply regarding track boundaries which means two tires must be on/over the track surface at all times. The rumble is considered track, but the tarmac to the right of the rumble strip is not. If you have both fronts or both rear tires completely on the other side of the rumbles at any point during your pass of the chicane that is considered "dirty". Of course the admins understand in an online race that mistakes do happen and a random mistake here or there during the race will not result in a penalty, but repeated abuse will result in a minor time penalty (15 seconds) or major time penalty (30 seconds) depending on the severity/frequency. So if you find yourself cutting it close or "dirty" on a lap by mistake make sure not to cut it so close in future laps.

The stewards will be checking the replay after the race and verifying every driver complied with the tire rules. At the same time we'll do random checks of several laps from each driver through the chicane. Not to mention people watching the live feed will give us feedback if they see any cutting. If we/they see a cut in the sample we'll investigate the driver's laps further and issue "track abuse" penalties... so play it safe and go through the chicane clean.

Very dissapointed not to make the race tonight.

My friends of Div3/4/5 why don't you guys give these races a chance to. The admins have no problem with setting up a second room !! With only a few drivers more, everyone would benefit from this : all the fastest drivers in room A wich is good cause they do not have to be concerened about moving chicanes. And the 'slower' drivers in the B room, wich makes it also intresting cause you get the chance to battle for a podium, wich does not happen ofthen for us lower division drivers.... And last but not least ; I would have raced then :D

Well guess I am of to practise for Nurnburg then....

Ya really. I would even say div 345, more 2 would do. Gazziboy in the reserve makes me less than confident. Racing Bart makes me feel like 'why bother'.

I'm working on a highlights video which will go up on my YouTube channel when it's ready (might be after the race). There will then be a separate highlights video of the actual race, which will likely arrive on Monday. I'll post here when each are ready :)

I reckon I could have gone a bit faster and dipped into the 1.11s, but my gear setup wasn't right and the car wasn't as fast as the one on my Regular PSN, but it is what it is.

I think I've worked it out though but time will tell. I'll be ready as a reserve for the start of the race

And a very well done to all here. I thought IMO's league was hardcore. This is ultra Hardcore.

It's tough competition, your not wrong there! We appreciate your understanding, and it's great to hear you'll be ready to jump in as a reserve! Good effort in quali nonetheless 👍

I enjoyed qualy so much .
was really intense !
Good job to evryone , see you tonight ;)
Good luck to all , ENjoy it!

Feel bad for both Frank and Gazzi. I was quite shocked myself we didn't get 18 to sign up given all the promotion and all the early sign ups. I suspect the walls of Monaco combined with the crazy times in the practice leaderboard scared some of the guys away. Also it happens to be a holiday weekend here in the US which doesn't help.

Here's hoping we can get 20+ for the remaining rounds and run a couple grids so nobody has to sit out. As for me, I'm out for Germany as I'll be traveling. A new race race director will be assigned to run the show, but I'll be back for the remaining rounds.

On to today's race! Good luck drivers...

The 2013 WRS Grand Prix of Monaco starts in 4 hours!!!!

My lounge will open one hour prior for warm ups. Mics will be disabled to minimize lag while racing. Show up as early as possible. If you aren't in the lounge 5 minutes prior to the green flag your grid spot will be given to the reserves who are eager to race. Drivers are expected to be in the pits and past inspections at 19:00 sharp and the race timer will start promptly.

Once on the grid and the race has started we will use the formation lap to get in proper order. Make sure you know your position and who you are behind in the grid. Tire warming is allowed, just be careful not to crash doing so. When making the final turn slow and leave a gap. Drivers should get their grid spots one at a time... We don't want one driver to overshoot causing the entire grid to overshoot. Take your time as we have 3 minutes to get back in grid positions.*

At exactly 3:00.000 we launch. Do not jump the start as we will obviously review this. The replay will be frozen at this time and every driver must be applying brakes on that frame. Jump start penalties will be harsh, especially if that driver gained positions as a result. If you jump by accident and let off to return any gain no penalty will apply.

Be safe in turn 1 and the entire first few laps (the first hairpin run). Dirty air is basically insane in this car so understand the car in front of you is battling understeer just like you. Things will settle as the race spreads out.

It's a long race so be patient... Your chance to be on pole/front row was yesterday... Don't drive into turn 1 like there is nobody in front if you didn't get that job done... They earned it so respect their positions unless they make an error.

*if there is a problem during the initial grid setup please type in chat and we can delay the start until the 4 minute mark to give time to correct... But that request must be made by at least 2:45... If chat is silent by 2:45 the race will start at 3:00 no matter what.

Always great advice. A whole room channeling the ghost of Ayrton Senna will only end in tears.

Looking forward to my first F1 experience, crossing my fingers and toes that I can get into the points. Competition here is a bit scary though. :nervous:

GL everyone, make sure you hydrate, there's no time between gear shifts to get a rest.

I'll keep an eye out, and if I see something that needs to hold the start back a minute, ill try type if no-one else sees it/doesnt type it

Always handy to have an eye in the sky.
Just a passing thought... you guys put any thought into calling out a local yellow if you see a pile up in the swimming pool?

We did but there are too many issues involved and knowing when to make the decision and the view race feature isn't that good etc. it would be different if a team of 3-4 were observing, but oink is going to focus on the broadcast and we will just have to deal with carnage the best we can.

That's what I figured. I've done the race-steward calling flags before. It's not easy with Miata's let alone F1 cars, and a broadcast to do. This is the only track we have to worry about serious carnage anyway. At least the online-name bubbles are usually visible long before the cars. So that should give us fair warning of anything truly insane up the road. (that is if we aren't focused on that annoying little antenna on the nose... anyone know what that thing is even for? Aiming at your foes? I thought all the radio stuff was in the T-Bar?)

For the race start at 3 min where you observe the replay to see if everyone is on the brake, does the handbrake count?

And may I join the warm up? I'll jump out as and when needed.

Lounge is open guys. 1 hour to race start.

Yes, as long as your velocity is 0 at the moment you're fine.

It's fine to join... once we get to 14 you can exit.

hmm, I will get the stream live about 15 mins before the start, people get pretty impatient sometimes ;)

yeah, ask netflix about the Arrested Development release last night

GL btw, I would be more nervous about talking for an hour and a half than driving for it. :sly:

Ok thanks. I am just trying to setup at work via my cell phone's Wifi hot spot and my iPad. I am stoked to watch and depressed I am not racing.

I feel your pain Frank. Maybe a miracle will happen.

Al

Nah, miracles only happen in dreams or movies....

Wishing all competitors good luck for the race. As there are no Belgians in the race I will be supporting my northern neighbours. Good luck Wes and Bart 👍 and all the best for Tim and Twissy aswell, go get them :)

im getting "The network is offline" error upon entering any room. Gunna have to quickly restart the game.
