So EA just spammed me with an E-mail stating "Welcome to Shift 2, the most realistic racer ever" - man I nearly soiled myself! My housemate rented it this week and that statement is just shocking! Shouldn't the ASA be crawling up them for this?

Ya think so? Post how unrealistic GT5 is on the fourm, and watch the Sheep's freak out like you punched their grandma in the face. Then they start on Forza, then Shift, then everything else.

Most people that do come to bash S2 are GT5 fans....so its assumed. They pick it up, play it for 5 mins, realize it takes more than upgrading the car past the comp, bumping into walls and other cars actually hurts not helps, sees that you actually have to tune a car, and give up and call it crap.

Not following suite at all, just answering a question you asked as to why the assumption.

Last person that bashed S2 and claimed to have played it, when I friend requested them to check out autolog they didnt even have the game. Not saying you dont or anything, just pointing out how assumptions work both ways.

I didn't bash S2 though I actually quite like it. Just wouldn't consider myself a fan as I only play it casually since I got it, few events every so often,

I love GT5 it has the best snare drum sound when you hit a wall that Ive listened to in a long time (since my Iron Maiden times)

Actually my post wasnt to compare gt5 to shift 2. The statment was to reflect that there are no perfect racing sims and as this is a forum on GT planet it is easiest to pick that game to make my point. I should have stated that but I assumed that most readers would get what i am aiming at. This guy started the post off by laughing at shift 2 when he only played it because a friend RENTED IT. So for the record i don't care which sim you play no one is absolutely perfect and most of them claim to be the most realistic as a selling point.

Most of the users on this S2U sub-forum either owns or has owned GT5 and visit the GT5 forums. How often have you seen someone posting pro-S2U comments or comparisons on the GT5 forums? Why do the GT5 fans need to come to this forum to hail the superiority of GT5 on the S2U forums... just curious.
I read the GT5 forums occasionally but would never post an S2U related comment as I would only evoke resentment and rile the natives. We all have our preferences and I don't need to push my opinion onto the GT5 fans on their forum. My $.02

WOW, these physics are terrible. Now that I notice the cars look awful, damage isn't even that great either. Game sux.

Yeah I guess I'm one of those that can appreciate both games....I love Shift for it being a gritty unwashed racing game and all its little foibles. I love how the AI actually makes you work for a win, contact can literally end your race and you get a real sense of accomplishment when you win a tough race, however the physics (that damn floatyness) are a bit of a letdown for me and its the one thing I'd take from GT5 and put into Shift 2.

I love GT5 for its gameplay and its greater car selection but honestly, if Shift 2 had the GT5 physics, endurance races and some other cars from GT5 I'd play that and never look back. Guess I'm not a diehard GT5 lemming....

Both GT5 and S2U have their pros and cons... the biggest pro for me being that offline play on Shift2 is superb even though I havent had time to play PS3 or S2U over the last month or two... And GT5 is just sublime when played online with a good group of like minded racers... So S2U for offline and GT5 for online Just for info I play both games with no assists... Not even ABS in GT5. 👍

The OP is getting wet right now over these replies, i was tempted to not give him the satisfaction, but hell, if thats how he needs to get his grove on then fair play. If it stops him going onto the streets and flashing at females then its all good.

Problem here is that the statement "most realistic racer" is actually pretty much on the money, Shift 2 provides a better more real racing experience than both FM3 and GT5. Its a fact. So quite how the OP has such little in his life to laugh at that he found this spam email so hilarious i dont know...... has this person not got the Comedy channel, has he not ever seen the Office? Jeez..... can i send you my car insurance quote i was emailed...now that will make you 'giggle'
