Jay-Z wants to run for U.S. President

With no opinion for or against the man in question, I'd like to note:

To qualify as a moron, you have to have an IQ of below 69. Unfortunately, the worst you can actually accuse any president of being is "merely above average."

Having studied mental retardation in College, I find it funny how people use the words "Imbecile", "Moron" and "Idiot" glibly.

That is all.

You didn't need college to study mental retardation niky, just the GT5 section. :P

As for me, I wouldn't be supporting Jay-Z if he ran for president. Ice Cube though, that's another story.....I'd vote for him because if he was president, I'd be safe in knowing that if China stepped out of line, a whole army of gangbangers in '64 Impala's on 3 wheels would be rolling around Beijing tearing things up. 👍

Featuring Snoop Dogg. Dre would probably produce the song and make a video.

Rollin' down the street, smokin' indo, shootin' up Chin and Xiu.

People die from motor racing and that affects other people in the process
Not even remotely comparable activities.
I've seen cocaine solution dropped on a beating frog heart. All of the cardiac tissue dies. Doing cocaine is slo-mo suicide. Is someone going to not commit suicide because it is illegal? No, these are sick people and their situations are not helped by the use of force and incarceration that are presently employed today.
If you honestly think people should do whatever they want to themselves, go for it. Completely ignore the large number of deaths that will come with legal hard drugs & how fast they'll be back to being illegal once some junkie has killed people due him being "stoned out of his mind" b/c you know, drugs have no affect on mental stability....

Whatever. At the very least, I don't think there should be a DEA and that states should handle the issue just like they do for every other crime.

Off-topic I know, but given that, I would have to ask if you support a ban on alcohol?

It kills people who abuse it (and not just slow deaths via alcoholism - plenty occur through alcohol poisoning), those under the influence of it kill others either directly or indirectly, and will rob and steal to obtain it.

Given it meets all your criteria for other (currently illegal) drugs and is defined as a drug itself, I don't see any reason why you would not want it banned.

However we all know just how well prohibition worked last time around, and the after effects were amazingly damaging to the US as a whole (many blame the rise of organized crime on the door opened for them by prohibition).

Its off-topic I know, but a subject close to my heart.

I know people who have died from drug abuse and quite frankly lay some of the blame at the door of them being illegal, no quality control and no standard of manufacture means deaths from contaminates and accidental overdose are common risks (and a major percentage of drug related deaths are due to these factors). These are both factors that would be substantially reduced were drugs legal.

Scaff

Sorry it's staying off topic but this is close to my heart aswell. Even the legal drugs are just as lethal, if not more so in recent years. More and more people are having "accidental" drug overdoses off prescription pills. Look at the list in recent years from celebrities such as Heath Ledger, Brittany Murphy and Anna Nicole Smith (okay, maybe not Nicole because she was a walking chemist!). Drugs like Oxycontin, Vioxx, Xanax and Stilnox have increased in use and the amount of them being taken as cocktails has also increased which have brought about these deaths.

A lot of good results come from supervision rather than prohibition. In Sydney, they have had the drug injecting gallery open for nearly 10 years now and they have had over 11,000 people inject themselves on over 500,000 seperate occasions and out of that they have had 3000 overdoses but NOT A SINGLE FATALITY!! The quick response from the staff there ensure that while the quality of drug can't be controlled, the reactions suffered as a consequence can be controlled very quickly and as a result, everyone that walks in there walks out of there again. In countries like Sweden, they actually have synthetic heroin which gives the user the same euphoric feeling they get when they have the real drug but is 100% pure to ensure that no overdoses occur and they also have supervised galleries.

As for weed, they should've already legalized it and made billions from the hemp industry and the pothead industry would be less than 1% of the money they could make from all the hemp products they could manufacture. You'd find people farming it for the material and creating cannabis crops which are close to THC-free which is currently happening in several countries.
