ORLY? Well I'm sorry but it has everything to do with competition bud. You can't say that PD are too blind to not see there is competition. GT is going to suffer if PD continues to go that way.
Of the issues that this game has, this one is the bottom of my list, I'm more curious about reference to a July update, are we going to see the promised content, Course Creator, B-Spec etc., or is this being dumped to GT7.
I think you're talking about the track maker, the Beta version is already working and in my hands now. When we can deliver it to users is still up in the air.
The standard complaints are quite hilarious when everyone is going on raving about GRID Autosport released today that has cars with blacked out interior views...
I'm already seeing Sony ditching GT and handing the project of their new main racing exclusive to another of their worldwide studios. Please no. Having them in GT5/6 was debatable, but I could let it go.
But putting PS2 models in a PS4 game? Completely and utterly asinine, not to mention lazy. I'm not putting out $400 for a console and $60 for a game that has the majority of it's content existing on the PS2 and PS3, in the forum of Gran Turismo 3, 4, 5, and 6. If I want to use Standard cars, I'll stick to one of those games. Plenty enough options there.
Get with the times PD, before your competition leaves you in the dust.

Ah, I see, it's just about the business and the cash in their pockets. No way. You just wait and see how many new cars start getting Sony car stereos fitted as standard features, thanks to the VGT collaborations.
I doubt that, or they wouldnt even have commented on standards, if they were that quality.I think the standard cars in GT7 will be similar to RUF quality in GT6, with 1080p, much higher res texture, aliasing, better tesselation and lighting. It may be close to driveclub on track model minus interior details perhaps![]()

That explains why GT is going the way it is.

Highlights
- likely a full game and not a Prologue
- sounds not likely to improve much until GT7
- Course Maker and B-spec in an imminent update (not a Kaz quote though)
- STANDARDS ARE HERE TO STAY!!
...
"I doubt that we'll be throwing away the standard cars," said Yamauchi. "Each car has its own fans. So I think we'll hang on to the archive. In the meanwhile, some of those cars we may be able to make into Premium cars as they become available - but basically we're more focussed on increasing the number of premium cars."
I doubt that, or they wouldnt even have commented on standards, if they were that quality.
All of them are in the business for the money, but I definitely don't think keeping standard cars for GT7 is going to boost sales for PD, on the contrary, it will decrease sales. So it's a bad choice. Can you name some companies that aren't in business for the money?

It's still launching with 700+ standards. It doesn't matter if this number recedes with time, the damned standards will still be there. Not to point any fingers but why are you only highlighting certain parts of the article? I deleted the rest as it's long and it's about things everyone can read in the OP. Just that you bold standards are here to stay and then the first two quotes from Kaz then completely bypass the rest which pertains to the first two?
What is crazy is people are upset and haven't paused for a second to think about what was actually said. Let me help, Kaz said some of those cars(standard) we may be able to make into Premium cars as they become available. Now lets see the Speed 8, C9, Alpine 1600s weren't premium in GT5, but they are in GT6. So do with that whatever you will. I'm not going to argue, I'm just pointing out that you're being biased and inflammatory for whatever your reasons may be and intentionally glossing over and outright selectively viewing what you want.
This isn't necessarily aimed at you, just something I came across whilst writing my reply and thought I'd include.
The quantity over quality remark is rubbish, there are 453 Premium cars in GT6 now and that number is only going to grow as the standard car count begins to recede, you guys really can reach though. Honestly do you really think GT 7 will launch with less Premium cars than we have at present? Somehow they will get stuck and not make a single car for 2 years? Wow, just wow! I'm at a loss for words for that sort of decidedly bombastic and dramatic thinking, some of you would do well as writers for the National Inquirer or the Sun. Reading some of the doom and gloom posts from the few, but if you take a gander at the poll it bodes well for GT 7 as it's about how the game plays and where to enjoy their GT fix. You are free to play all the other games and leave GT in the dust, no one will chide you for it, I promise. We here at GT Planet welcome individuality and nurture independent though as well as being respectful of opposing ideals.
I'll leave with this as you are free to dislike KAz decisions as much as it's anyone else decisions to hear them and keep on going on with their lives. Play on and stay healthy folks.

12 people? Really? Every asset in Mario Kart have the same quality, it's homogeneous; that's not the case with Gran Turismo.12 people from GTP wont make much difference. Majority of sales go to casuals who just want to drive cars.
Mariokart outsells every other racing game, it's cars are nowhere near the quality of current standards in GT.
