But it literally is a vocal minority. People that are happy or indifferent about standards staying outnumber those that are disappointed by nearly four to one, despite the heavily biased and leading question used and answers provided.
You mean two to one. You don't know on which side those who'll wait for reviews and opinions will stand.

You know, I've noticed over my time here on GTP that there are an awful lot of different ultimatums on here...

No standards or I'm done
better AI or I'm done
better sounds or I'm done
more customization or I'm done
ect. ect. ect.

sort of a lose lose for PD isn't it?

Don't be fooled, that's just what the comments suggest. The poll gives you the real answer, which is that most people are happy or indifferent about standards being added. It seems that the more passionate GT players who take the time to comment have different views to those who are slightly less involved and generally more relaxed about the series. The commenters certainly don't seem to represent the majority.

My bad.

PS: I wish one of the GTP staff members would provide objective threads about these kinds of major announcements so that we aren't stuck with people reading biased analyses and answering biased polls.

Why doesn't PD release the standard models to an external team to bring up to a decent standard?
It's not like they need to worry about quality.
It would take the pressure off the modelling team who can concentrate on new content.

Funnily enough, I would rather have cars in GT2 converted to Premium than some of the Standards which exist today. GT2 had by far the best car list with every manufacturer getting a nice cross section of the range.

Standard's were the reason (and also livery editor) I wasn't really interested in GT5, haven't bought GT6 and now probably won't be buying into the franchise again!

I love when people who don't own the game criticise it, I think that sort of makes your comments on the game void

All about the "master artist" over there at PD, and they aren't going to outsource.

Besides if it's standards then it isn't hard to point out the problems.

The sound is huge and even PD knows that. That is at the top of their priority list for sure. And it should be. While I do enjoy GT6, the audio is indeed painful.

As for the standards I honestly decided to hang in there with the fact that I knew he couldn't get premiums this generation. Fair enough. Barely acceptable. But now we are climbing into the NEXT generation of gaming with new hardware and still standards are going to exist? I just cant do it any more.

Insanity "doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results". When the series has produced different results with the standards, I will consider purchasing again. That safely wont be for at least 5+ years. Unless something changes.

I don't have to own a game to know what it's like. Plus I'm on GTPlanet where you end up knowing more about the game than the general public that buy it!

Like saying you watch a trailer for a film and you know exactly how each scene plays out. Holds no weight with me like your opinion on it

Edit: teed

Let me explain why to keep standards is a bad idea. Yes, some people who played GT from the start of these series love some of these cars and I fully understand this. But keeping these cars in the game meaning that the developers have to find a compromise in the game mechanics. For example: remember how beautiful was the menu in GT5: Prologue? We were constantly watching our (premium) car in the different backgrounds. Imagine this on the PS4? More details, more closeups, camera sliding through the interior, (maybe even the engine?)... Now put a standard car in its place. What do we see? Nothing, because it is embarrassing to show such a low quality model. And there is 500 of these cars... So it's unlikely that we see this type of menu. Again, Prologue had this menu because there was no standards. Another example: Damages. I can't imagine that if premiums have full damage system (dirt, scratches, detachable parts) but the standards just won't. It will look like if every time I'm playing a standard car there's a sudden loss of the most entertaining game features. Nah... I want to feel a truly next gen experience.

Seems crazy but there ya go..
Personally I am not bothered if they are left in. The duplicates irritate me more, although the semi premium upgrade to the RUFs etc was welcomed. Seems crazy they wouldn't outsource just to take the load off.

Sorry but bull. That's like talking crap about a movie you've never seen because other people talk crap about it.
Yeah but...

GT6 = GT5

So no, even if someone hasn't played the game but played GT5, then they're in a position to criticize a game as they see fit.

Besides if it's standards then it isn't hard to point out the problems.

Depends what your opinion of problems are but we own the game we can load it up go to x car and discuss it With experiance , Robin cannot so I would regard your opinion on a car over his

Poor Kaz. Dem butthurts.

Kaz is now having brain tumor at GoodWood below Mercedes statue.

APOLOGISE TO HIM AT ONCE!!!

Movies don't have play through vid's on YouTube, images of movies in cinemas are not shared on forums etc. You can't compare the information and knowledge you can gain about a game from the internet to a movie in the cinema.

YES!!!!!!!!
I really think he is spot on!
Now i can relax, GT7 will be great.

Wohoooooo i feel good.

And no im not kidding.

and to all sulky ones here...
bet he can fix a filter for you.

If it's the same exact standard model in both games then I don't see a problem, and GTPlanet houses all kind of info here about GT6.

And plus a movie is a one-and-done experience, not variable like a video game.

well i say i'd have a variety of rides to pick from that aside from a limited interior has NO EFFECT on the driveablity on the car is a moot point.i wouldn't mind having an interior on every single car but with kaz's limited staff it would take a millennium for them to complete and release the game.some ppl might rather have pd go down forza's road and have players pay for cars that were in the previous game that should already be in the current game as DLC.I'd much rather drive a car with no interior that should already be in the game than pay whatever amount for a car i may not want to spend my $on

But at end of day I am happy we don't lose cars, don't care really about what you want from the game but glad we have a choice to drive them or not . Forget the sound and polygons ATM but remember you won't lose cars.

Dupes are quite silly though if they same car has a premium version they should be cut silly to carry them over

That's what PD gets for not focusing on the competition...

What competition? Lets be serious here, no game is taking significant sales from GT. GT6 is the odd man out and only because it launched exclusivity for the PS3 AFTER the fastest selling console in history launched.

Despite when it launched it's selling faster than the best selling game from it's strongest competing franchise.

The only place that not focusing on the competition hurts PD or GT is on internet forums.

GT is different, it just is. When or if they add the features that people are always complaining about missing it will be icing to the majority of people who buy Gran Turismo games.

also i can understand pd putting out a dlc pack for say Koeinegsegg or Porsche.that i would assume many would pay $ to get but if pd offered $1.99 or $2.99 for a premium Supra or GTR,i'll pass on that.i'd pay that or a bit more if they released pack as above mentioned

We shall see how far GT goes the way PD does things. Next-gen is already here, and there's a lot of competition out there, much more than on the PS3, that's for sure.

ORLY? Well I'm sorry but it has everything to do with competition bud. You can't say that PD are too blind to not see there is competition. GT is going to suffer if PD continues to go that way.

Of the issues that this game has, this one is the bottom of my list, I'm more curious about reference to a July update, are we going to see the promised content, Course Creator, B-Spec etc., or is this being dumped to GT7.

It's still scheduled for GT6.
