Kaz says the standards are going to be in GT7. Is this a deal breaker for you?

That is much more important, I agree which is why PD should not be focusing on such a ridiculously high car count to begin with.

Would you have 1000+ cars at launch with abnormalities/shortcomings, or would you have 500 or less ALL of them modeled to real-life performance specs including engine sounds?

My decision for that, is based more on events than shortcomings.
If there is not enough events in the game for the 1000+, my preference would be the 500.
Basically, flawed or otherwise, if there is inadequate event use for most of the 1000+, they might as well be omitted.

That is not to say, that I do not want and appreciate premium modeling and real engine sounds.
I do.

Exactly
A large number of the standard cars are either dupes or insignificant cars from the 80s and 90s. Do you use all 800 standard cars? I doubt it. I don't want to lose every model currently represented as a standard car, I would like to see the most popular and most used re-done as premium. Maybe 100/200, I haven't checked. There certainly is no need for all 800 to be copied across.
exactly, useless pieces of crap like the daihatsus and millions of pointless old nissans

Europe and America have a rich racing heritage and history, so it is easy to see why some of us here in the West would think the 'useless pieces of crap like the daihatsus and millions of pointless old nissans' should be replaced with Ford Cortina's and Escorts, Vauxhall Caviliers and Hillman Hunters.

And i agree with you, switch out the clones for different cars

When we see this, we will look for the wallet regardless of standards.

And so does Japan. Which is why for every Daihatsu Midget or Suzuki Alto Works, I'd much rather see a Skyline Silhouette or a Group B Celica, etc...

Exactly.
Just PD making sure Japan's racing history is acknowleged in the Gran Turismo series.
Kei cars do seem redundant in GT, but I do realise that they had a purpose for Japanese consumers.

Right. First thing I noticed when I played the first GT ever released, were the abundant number of Japanese manufacturers. Good memories. Great track collection and decent engine sounds being the very first one.

Important key word being "had", though, since Japanese emissions laws are what drives the continuous mass export of JDM cars after about a decade. If anything, the huge amount of 1990s vehicles (and economy cars in particular) in a GT game released just last year is all the more conspicuous because the overwhelming majority of them are from a country that would have considered them long past disposable.

Honestly, Idk how Kaz does it. Whatever this man releases, some of you guys are pretty much never pleased!

ALL this guy has to do is not give certain cars and tracks preferential treatment and actually work as hard on the sounds as he has on the graphics.

That's it, work done! And yes, the tire model needs somewhat of an overhaul too. I wouldn't mind more serious PC sim-like physics.

I suspect that GT physics engine was developed at the limit the cars to be driveble softened with hidden aides which can not be turn off.It must be changed if GT wants to be a sim.

True that man...true that.

And on the flip side, whatever this man releases some will buy no matter what so I guess it takes all kinds :)

That's the thing... stop buying products...and the developer is left with no choice but to up his game.

I couldn't agree more which is why I mentioned to someone in a thread awhile back who said they were going to pre-order GT7 even though being so disappointed in 6 that people like him were a part of the problem not the solution...you wouldn't believe the flak I caught over that one :D

I could see it (why you received flak) cause people equate all criticism == negativity when it's the complete opposite. If you've follow GT since GT1, GT2, or even GT3 then you've seen this series in it's hay day. Back when it actually was PUSHING THE VIRTUAL DIVIDE. Now ever since GT4 and to an extent GT5 Prologue series just seems to go more and more downhill. I mean people keep posting the sales number and every game since GT3 I believe it's decreased substantially.

I don't agree that it has to become a true Sim racer I just want a robust Career mode that doesn't take 1 week to complete(GT5). Sounds to improve, A.I to be completely overhauled, and Qualifying and actual Crowd.

Also the best cars to make it everyone is wanting more cars, but honestly of the 1500 cars I know without a shadow of a doubt those aren't the best 1500 they could choose.

Especially when one of those 1500 is this one

Give me this one instead

I'm only saying that because SVT Lighting we've seen it now 3 times and each time it was for one particular race, but I'd rather they trade it for another truck, and it doesn't have to be this one just an example.

Maybe it's because PD doesn't produce utter crap. And seriously, if you can drive a car in GT3 and say it feels the same as in GT6, I'd have to see just how you're driving it. And have you asked yourself why the tens to hundreds of thousands are getting online every day to race in GT6? Force of habit? Sheer boredom because there's nothing better to do? Or some of us fans race in single player offline still, against bots? Maybe because there really are commendable things people enjoy about it.

That's not so surprising when you consider that GT3 has been for sale, new, for several years. I saw GT3 for sale new at the time GT5 Prologue came to the States. It was one of the most heavily marketed games in history. But as for slumping, I wish I could slump so badly. GT4 sold 11 million copies in five years. GT5 did it in three. I know that a number of critics have pointed out that GT6 can't be selling too well. But you can't blame a game for being all that sucky when it's arguably better than its predecessor in many ways. Painted a car lately in GT5?

Market knowledge about GT6 is pretty poor, and being released on a last gen console hasn't served it very well. I still have had friends think it's about time to pick up a copy, and are stunned that it's not a PS4 game. Reviewers have been quite impressed with GT6, and most haven't ragged on the Standard car and track issue as some here do quite vocally. Or grouched about the car sounds as much. GT6 is in a unique circumstance in contrast to other GT games.

A lot of you are unhappy about the plans for GT7. When it sees the light of day, it's either going to sell wonderfully or just okay again. If it doesn't set the charts on fire, performing like GT6 did, then clearly Kaz and the head honchos at Polyphony are going to have to listen to the criticisms on the internet more seriously and take them to heart. But if it does take off like a spaceplane, will the critics glean anything from the news?

I'm not so sure Kaz and company aren't already taking it to heart, evidenced by the formation of the Kaz Q&A forum.
This is quite a radical departure from the old norm of, practically complete isolationism.
When a repeat blockbuster like GT can't sell any more than GT6 has, in a market of 80 million PS3 owners, someone is going to take notice.

My Question is do you know why GT5 sold 10 million or 11? It's because of the hype surrounding it and plus the game that was it predecessor to it was one of the best in the series.

If you look very carefully though I wonder why GT6 is stuck in 2.20 million according to vgsales(know it's not most reliable, but it's something).

What is GT6 better than GT5 in I remember giving it a month before turning in GT5. GT6 when I got it wanted to trade it almost immediately afterwards, and the outrage on this forum back in December 2013 when it came out was just crazy.

Maybe right now it's future is brighter than GT5, but GT6 still hasn't given me and some others reasons to go back and buy, and confidence shaken a real reason to invest in GT7.

Agreed. Myself and all of my friends who played previous GTs pre-ordered GT5.

None of us bought GT6, because we bought GT5!
