And on the flip side, whatever this man releases some will buy no matter what so I guess it takes all kinds
Maybe it's because PD doesn't produce utter crap. And seriously, if you can drive a car in GT3 and say it feels the same as in GT6, I'd have to see just how you're driving it. And have you asked yourself why the tens to hundreds of thousands are getting online every day to race in GT6? Force of habit? Sheer boredom because there's nothing better to do? Or some of us fans race in single player offline still, against
bots? Maybe because there really are commendable things people enjoy about it.
If you've follow GT since GT1, GT2, or even GT3 then you've seen this series in it's hay day. Back when it actually was PUSHING THE VIRTUAL DIVIDE. Now ever since GT4 and to an extent GT5 Prologue series just seems to go more and more downhill. I mean people keep posting the sales number and every game since GT3 I believe it's decreased substantially.
That's not so surprising when you consider that GT3 has been for sale, new, for several years. I saw GT3 for sale new at the time GT5 Prologue came to the States. It was one of the most heavily marketed games in history. But as for slumping, I wish I could slump so badly. GT4 sold 11 million copies in five years. GT5 did it in three. I know that a number of critics have pointed out that GT6 can't be selling too well. But you can't blame a game for being all that sucky when it's arguably better than its predecessor in many ways. Painted a car lately in GT5?
Market knowledge about GT6 is pretty poor, and being released on a last gen console hasn't served it very well. I still have had friends think it's about time to pick up a copy, and are stunned that it's not a PS4 game. Reviewers have been quite impressed with GT6, and most haven't ragged on the Standard car and track issue as some here do quite vocally. Or grouched about the car sounds as much. GT6 is in a unique circumstance in contrast to other GT games.
A lot of you are unhappy about the plans for GT7. When it sees the light of day, it's either going to sell wonderfully or just okay again. If it doesn't set the charts on fire, performing like GT6 did, then clearly Kaz and the head honchos at Polyphony are going to have to listen to the criticisms on the internet more seriously and take them to heart. But if it does take off like a spaceplane, will the critics glean anything from the news?
