I payed $100 for GT7. I don't want to complete everything in 3 weeks, I want to play it for the next 3 years.
But, playing for the next 3 years, it's entirely your choice, whether the in-game economy is good or bad. GT5 and GT6 had much better economies, and I still played for that long. So that's not really a reason. As long as the game is fun, people will play it for a long time, and if PD adds content over time, even more people will enjoy the game for longer.

Picking in your 3 weeks example: if the average price of cars in game were 100k Cr, then the total cost of the entirity of the car list, would be 42.4M Cr. It would take 30 days of consistent income of 1.4M Cr daily, just to collect every car. This is atleast 1h a day needed of consistent grinding in the ideal event, for a month straight. Note that, the average price for cars is a lot higher than 100k (probably around 400k to 500k), the game has a lot more stuff that you need to spend your Cr on (like tuning parts), and the average player won't turn on the game for a daily session of constant grinding, as it's not their idea of fun.

Anyway, this is a driving/racing game. If, once you collected all the cars, you can't have fun anymore with it, then I guess that's either your problem, for not knowing what to do with them, or the game's problem, for having nothing to do after the player collects them all.
I personally know what to do once I have all the cars (and possibly a few duplicates of some, one stock, one tuned), between driving them in lobbies, setting lap times around one specific track, customizing them for different purposes, from racing to top speed runs to drag racing. I can have funfor a long time with the game, as long as I don't have to spend the majority of time grinding the same event.

Game for years is complete non-sense. You don't buy game for years. Most game are for hours, some special ones for hundreds of hours. The best ones for thousands. But it's never like you have blocked most content until you reach 1500 hours. You paid whole content and should get access below... 50 hours? Maybe 100 for rare cars but it's not so nice.

I was playing last night and I went to the UCD and I saw quite a few cars I wanted to buy. I added like 3 to my wishlist but I did get a Viper. It occurred to me that (and this is just my opinion) that Sony/PD they are not aiming for us to buy the 20 million cars if somebody does that's good for them but rather they want us to buy MTX on spur on the moment stuff because I am going to be I honest I was tempted for a hot second to get some MTX to get the other 4 cars I wanted. There Lambo, a Porsche, a BMW and Lancia available. But the crazy thing is even if I got 2mil cr it wouldn't have been enough I don't believe to get all 5 cars

Now you understand the MC score. It's all scam we don't want to support. You already bought ALL cars in the game by buying the game.

Why'd you buy it three times?
Bought it on PS3. Bought it on PC. Bought it again on PC years later because I couldn't remember how to get into my old EA account.

To be fair, that last one was something like $2.

The game has great cars, great tracks, a lot of rewarding stuff to do and a very free economy that allows you to build what you want and experiment while still requiring that you earn it. The turd in the punchbowl is that it has HORRIFIC input delay. You can actually learn to play around it, but it's very difficult and it's a problem that shouldn't even exist. It's an example of a single egregious issue totally spoiling what is otherwise a really very competent game.

All of us whole have been playing racing games for any length of time get loving a game that has issues. But what most of us don't do is go around posting "doesn't bother me, game is great" when the game is obviously not great.

I guess except for people who are into natto who will go around touting how healthy they are despite looking and smelling like weasel nadgers in snot.

Yeah I understand the MC score. I personally don't like MTX especially when you don't give a true alternative to get using it. I don't mind a little grinding but this is ridculous

Too late for me. Im back to Assetto and PC2. Sold this heap of junk. No updates during outage, no response from Sony etc, etc.

I feel bad for Kaz, it's like seeing your kid get mutilated, but its over and done for me.

Sony should be ashamed of themselves and I don't accept F2P mechanics in a full priced game.

That and the lack of even a small compensation for the outage, just goes to show how deep Sony has sunk. Im not supporting this trash.

Yesterday I tried Civic (GT vibe) in PC2 on Bathurst and it was amazing. Even on consoles the game is still amazing.

PC2 is balls to the wall racing. BUT almost impossibru without a wheel. Assetto is even more unforgiving. :D
And yes, Bathhurst is an amazing track!

@dacc10 @BroncosXR8 More like Genshin Turismo
Yeah, there are some parallels there (I play Genshin Impact off and on). The main difference, and why I can at least see SOME merit in their MTX model, is that the game is free.
Also, you get stuff in Genshin (not much, but SOMETHING, at least) by logging in and playing for just 10-15 minutes/day (although I haven’t really kept up with the latest changes tbh).
GT7 isn’t free, the daily roulette isn’t that great on average, and the payouts aren’t much to write home about either.

Exactly, not bad alternative to GT7 at all. GT is not the only game. Sims need a bit of skill but if you play with easier cars it's not bad at all even for casual players.

Yup, just avoid open wheel when starting with this game, because it won't pay for Anger Management sessions.....

Thats kinda bs, nothing makes more money then competant products that satisfy the consumer.

GT failure is a time honored example of one idiot in charge can sink any ship.
No this is Sony's wrongdoing. That's a whole room of greedy exec's wanting to wring every dime out of this game.

And this isn't a competent product. All due to Sony's decisions. So my point stands and is as valid as it was before you came along.

Kaz said he would've rather seen GT7 to be more like the old titles. He has no say in this. So, no, no BS by a mile. It's the sad truth and state in which gaming now is.

Funny how those greedy exes failed to do this at all the other Sony games. Horizon came out within a month of GT7, NONE of this crap in that game.

Kaz has been Bs'tin for two decades now.

Its all the idiot in charge.

I would too if I had a feeling that he was more than just an Avatar for Gran Turismo.

Gran Turismo has had issues of varying degrees since, for a long time.

The GT5 delay fiasco, MTX and then the GT6 cash grab is where it made me have doubts in the leadership or management.

The best thing that I enjoyed about GT5, was when the game saves could be modified. Community put together little software packages that were to facilitate easily modifying cars. Good times.

Granted it borked any online competition, but the engine swaps, wheels swaps and lowering of the cars was one of the coolest things I ever did in Gran Turismo.

Although, I do remember getting a stand alone Nordschleife track with just a Falken Skyline on my PS2 via a download, which was really, really cool. It's where I originally learned that track.

I can't write a review at metacritic. When I click "post" it gives me a "404 error". I can't confirm my account too (when I click the link provided in the email it gives me a "Your account cannot be confirmed at this time. Please try again later.".

I legitimately own the game (special edition) and wrote a specific review that I want to post. Why can't I post? Can anyone explain to me why?

Some damage control, I guess. I couldn't add TLOU2 very angry review either. :D

This may haveen the case once. Consolidation of markets everywhere is making it less and less so.
