What would really help, is if we can click on any car, we haven't seen yet, in our main car collection screen. Then, it'd notify us about the cars we'd like to see. As it is, we have to wait until a car shows up. Then, we can then click it for availablity later.

Although I’ve been trying to resist spending credits, I just had to buy the ‘54 Ferrari 500 Mondial. I wanted to drive this car ever since it won it’s Pebble Beach award from Kaz 10 frigging years ago...

I love it. Glad it was cheaper than I expected. Now back to grinding.

The Mercedes-Benz Sauber C9 is available for $3,000,000 credits now.

I haven't picked up the C2 yet but I will do it tonight before it disappears.

So has anyone dared buying it yet? I have the MKIV and XJ13 which are both legendary cars with a #Le Mans tag. Hoping those will count towards the trophy. If someone can confirm it doesn’t count, I’d rather skip it.

I do not have enough to purchase it yet but I will tomorrow, I was too late for the MKIV and wasn't interested in the XJ13. I may wait until it says it's low stock as I would hate to purchase it and see either of the F1 GTRs or the JGTC R34 after i've spent my money.

Not sure the XJ13 will, given it never even raced once, never mind be destined to win the 24 hours of Le Mans.

Or the CLK. 8.5 million credits looks like a terrifying grind now with the nerf so I'm holding out for as long as possible.

Very good point. I do believe it counted towards a similar trophy in Sport, together with the MKIV and 330 P4. But don’t quote me on that. :D

What more can you say. They've lost the plot. Nobody asked for real world exclusivity and inability to own rare cars in a damn video game.

People are going to be leaving this game in their droves if this continues. Why put your time into this game when you can fire up countless other games and drive these cars with so much less "work"?

Hell, they can fire up any GT game since GT5 and get it much easier. Why do they think it should be worth more all of a sudden?

The cynic in me is expecting some of the upcoming LCD cars to be among the most expensive cars in the game after the update.

That's nearly 22 hours of grinding Fisherman's Ranch for a car that'll only be available for a limited time. Or, $180.

Sony and PD have lost their goddamn minds.

Honestly I booted up the game for the daily mileage and after I've seen the price of the McLaren... I honestly felt insulted and used.

people say "but you aren't supposed to get everything first week" then fail to realize casually farming 20m would take months on months and that also means months and months of not buying any other cars lmao
Yet you only have 6 days to buy the car before it disappears, then you've got to wait another two months.

Ah, I hear the defenders cry. "You can save up money then so in two months when it comes back around you can buy it".

No, you see in their infinite wisdom PD have restricted the "free" credit balance to 20M, so you can't just build up a huge balance over weeks/months until you have enough to buy a bunch of cars when they come back around. No, you can have 20M credits, then you have to spend them or you won't earn any more.

You can have an unlimited number of paid credits though, of course.

This game, seriously. To say it's a far cry from GT4 it'd be an understatement.

Could you afford the Stealths that were featured in the opening week of GT5? Or about about the Ferrari GTO in the opening week in GTS? No? Didn't think so. 🤣

And you MUST have this car now? I'll wait, and make some money for any other and cheaper cars. In the future we'll get many more races, championships. And will be easier make this $$$.This game is not for a month, I'll play it for years, like GT Sport.

So if Excel, my math skills and my late-night brain didn't let me down, in order to get 18.5 million credits, you'd need to grind Fisherman's a whopping 412 times WITH the clean race bonus.
That would take you just 22 hours and 19 minutes on pure race time (calculated with 3:15 lap time), without taking loading or menus into perspective.

Having to grind is one thing, but this is another level.

It's pretty rich coming from Polyphony. Pretty sure nobody has managed to amass 18.5 million yet without MTX, they're just playing us for fools.

Did the maths on the McLaren. Most efficient grinds in the game are estimated around Cr. 900k per hour. The F1 is 18.5 million, which is 20.5 hours straight from Cr. 0, no breaks, max concentration, and assuming nothing goes wrong with the game or loading screens. In reality, with breaks and having to sleep, that's probably more in the region of 30-35 hours. 30-35 hours for a car that's only available for 5 days or so.

How is anyone with a job and a life meant to squeeze that in in 5 days? Well, simple answer, they're not - I've been able to excuse and let slide plenty of other GT7 quirks, but there's absolutely no denying that this one is entirely microtransaction-driven. Let's say you're sick of the grind, you finally caved, and want to just pay real money for the car? Well, you better hope you've already done some grinding in the past, because in the UK, getting to 18.5m from nothing would cost... £151.89.

The game is a full-price game, it costs £60-90 and has no doubt already sold millions of copies. Microtransactions aren't funding future content or servers, the game's own sales have clearly already done so. This is just straight-up greed, and there are no excuses for it this time around.

I imagine everyone complaining about the McLaren has already bought every single car already offered in the Brand Central as well as the other Legends cars so far, right?

Oh, wait, PD isn't letting you get everything else easily either?
