Okay....

Anybody been putting any more laps in?

lol im surprised no one seen that post!! :D

I am impressed with your time Dholland :) , you did great, i assume you used standard grip for grass and not ''real'' ? you would still be faster no doubt :) i tried with the normal grip and could get one wheel on the grass i could see gains from it, didnt tried a complete lap but id say i could do 7:35

As long as you dont start to brag about your time you will impress me. That work for anyone.

Yo mike, I think I used the standard grip level for off track excursions, but it really doesn't make much difference If you select the 'real' setting, as long as you don't try and brake in the grass or place 4 wheels in it. Similar lap times can be achieved with both settings.

Thx for the info, i tried set to real and the car seemed to react more brutaly getting back on the pavement, but i acknowledge it require sometimes to get used to it :)

Well done anyway :)

hi LMP,

I was thinking you could get more people interested if they could
edit the google doc themselves.

GTP Users with more than 50 posts could post on this thread, PM you their google address, then you add them as an editor to the document.

More than likely there would be no vandalism, and even if there was, as the owner you would be able to see all revisions, restore earlier revision, and see who made the changes.

It would also eliminate the need to sift through the thread looking for new times, and the leaderboard would almost be 'live'

Great thinking! Will try to put this idea into operation soon, talk to nj72 though, he is in charge of the docs. Thanks.

I don't remember saying that in your quote

It does work in practice too, the Lap Time Board is an example of hundreds of self edited times posted by GTP users. Could be handy indeed

I might have a go :)! I hardly play nurburg so a bit of practice not that I'll get close to dans time but worth a shout I guess :). Excellent lap though Dan, was enjoyable to watch in my dinner hour :D! I did wonder why you used that specific car/track combo.

frontalsystems lap time is daunting.
It takes a lot of concentration to hit all the apexes like that. Miss one and you lose.

His tyres are nice and warm for that lap in the video, that's probably worth a few seconds if your first time was set on blue tyres.
Also not ****ing up at all, that will get you a few seconds closer too.

Yeah only be edited by people who have competed in two weeks already. Just an idea.

@QB1o , I agree one mistake and youve ruined tor lap, its so frustrating!

My second lap after returning to GT5 about an hour ago, the physics really take some getting used to after Forza and I almost have to learn the track again because I've got used to a different version of the Nordschleife. There is still a few more seconds to come off this time for me.

Good time! Better than me, mind I have only done 3 laps in total this week! Been very busy, gonna do a lot of laps next week.

Yeah it´s still a week left for this one :) I hope eventually to get under 1:50
I sort of know where I loose time but I always end up doing the same mistakes, or doing mistakes elswhere :ill:

You sure about 1:50? ;) I really am gonna do lots of laps next week now that I am off for easter :D know the track really well now, done lots of grinding recently on it so I should be able to lower my time quite significantly with no real issues.

My lap at the moment was quite cautious because I didn't know just how much grip the car has, hopefully I can atleast stick to the right lines by the end of the event even if it means going quite slowly. You guys are doing a great job running this event and the weekly one, I've been checking these threads when I see them and have been tempted to come back to GT5 for a while but this event looked really fun and brought me back, for now.

Just to let everybody know WEEK 6 of the WDSC has begun over in the 'gran turismo 5' section so be sure to check it out! Keep putting those laps in!

Wow great time! I really need to give this FDSC a proper run. I did 3 laps at the beginning of the event. Dan's lap is insane, good luck improving though 👍

I'm away at the moment guys and have been gtplanet-ing from my phone whilst away. I will endeavour to sort out the spreadsheet for this and the WDSC upon my return tonight.

Thanks for your patience

Thanks mate and a decent first hour result from you, I think I was at a 34 after an hour, from memory. With this track, you need to constantly re assess your goals and targets, as it only takes half a tenth per corner to shave off seconds at the end of the lap:tup: Food for thought;)

Yeah that is a great point! Saving 1 tenth on each corner can save you 7-8 seconds! 'Every little helps'!
