Who has the fastest time using KB18FAN's tune? I'd like to use that as a ghost so I can better determine where I'm losing time.

Don't wanna be a party pooper but I've done a 1.53.899 with this tune. Think changed the camber by a tiny but though :)

Edit: if anyone wants the changes I'll post them

You're not pooping on anyone's party......Nice lap!

As I said above, I'm probably leaving aroung 0.6 on the table with this setup.......I can consistently finish the first sector UP by 0.4 but manage to lose it all in the next 2 sectors. :grumpy:

I don't have enough seat time to extract the absolute maximum consistently on every sector. Particularly with this car and tune as I had to borrow it from KB.

But I'm satisfied to be within the top 100....it's the highest I've ever been on the leaderboards.

I really like these TTs for giving me a yardstick to measure myself by. I have no notions of being the fastest guy........but it's nice to see that I'm reasonably competitive.

Cheers guys.....

Rob

Is that 0.4 ahead of the leaders' ghost/split time? If so, that's impressive. I'm using KB's tune but can't get that kind of top speed. Was able to get a 1:53.694 tonight though.

So, I finally took a look at the replay for the top time. Other than being faster than me just about everywhere, one thing that I noticed that his shifting seems to be a lot quicker, reaching the ideal powerband from one gear to the next much faster. Is this simply down to adjusting the gear ratios? Or is there something else to it?

No on my own best time......I haven't tried to compare my best to the leaders times.....

For some reason, that doesn't surprise me at all.

I've been reading and writing on this forum for a couple of months now and I am surprized that you allways take a chance to see things the wrong way. You write things that you probably wouldn't say in real life and you have got a bad attitude way to often. He did say that he was sorry not to mention your name. He did not have to do that since you would not have known that he learnt from your thread but he did and thats what a good person does.
You act like a three year old who is picking for a fight way to often.
Probably you will respond to this with some negative comment that you dont care or something like that but guess what! Thats ok with me. I am fed up with your little wars here on a nice and friendly forum. You may be one of the best drivers but that alone does not get respect. You lost my respect with your attitude on this forum.

Looking forward to a nice and friendly forum as it is most of the time.

Like I said, I am very sorry I forgot to mention you. Thats why I said "among others" because I couldn't remember everyone at the time as there has been many that have helped me along the way in one form or another. Sincerely sorry if I made you feel left out. Your information was highly helpful to me and I really appreciate you sharing it. Once again, I'm sorry. Peace. \/

Some emo stuff...

I've been in the gt scene for almost 10 years and all I'm gonna say, Ramon is one of the nicest, helpful, genuine guys I know. Your post adds fuel to an otherwise none existent fire.

Peace. 👍

arora@Thank you Erik. 👍

I'm 15 seconds off the leaderboard for the ring - any tips on places to find some extra time on the track itself please?

I also forgot to mention you also for helping me with my driving. Greatly appreciate the time you took with me on the track giving driving advice and helping me out with that aspect of GT5. Still trying to perfect what you taught me. Someday maybe, I'll be able to run among the top guys but for now, still learning and practicing. Thanks again my friend. We need to hit the track again and just run some laps and have fun. You're a pretty funny guy and its fun to be on the track with you. Peace. \/

I'm no alien, but the most effective places to focus on are usually corners leading into long high-speed sections, because any improvement you make on the exit of these corners can add speed to the entire high-speed sections that follow. I've made most of my improvements on Flugplatz and especially Bergwerk (If you aren't familiar with the turn names, there's a map here: http://www.billzilla.org/ring/nordschleife.jpg).

There's also more speed to be had in the exit of Exmuhle than I usually manage to carry. It's a deceptive-looking corner (at least to me).

It's a big track, so there are a lot of places to make up time, but focusing on the exit of the twisty sections will probably give you the best return on your effort.

Id say half a second would be possible gain with the dirty oil.

I let my Bobs run my 2J in the 9-hour Tsukuba 3 times over the last 2 days, and the oil light hasn't turned on, nor has the listed BHP changed. Does anyone know if this doesn't work? I would really rather not have to do it myself :yuck:

My bobs did a half Nür 24h and several Indy 500 races before the oil lamp lit up, pick a race with a high average speed so the car goes longer in a shorter time.

That's a good idea, thanks. I'll probably send it out on a couple 4hr nurbs. That should be a lot more miles than 1 9hr Tsukuba.

No worries KB, accolades don't suit me well :embarrassed:

Looks like you're moving along nicely, and yeah, we had some fun laps so hit me up whenever 👍

on the kartspace TT a couple of months ago, the only competitive car was the little suzuki (gxr??) but you had to run it until the oil light came on and then some to get it down to the desired pp! I think i had bob do nearly 5000miles in it before it lost the 7 or 8 bhp required

Thanks DrKronin, I brought my time down to 6:27. I still have places I can gain more speed. I've been round this track about a thousand times and I'm still learning. My issue now is having a great lap and going too cautious near the end so I don't throw it away. I suppose everyone is in the same boat and that's part of the battle.

905 KB18 tune.its a very good setup with very minor tweaks iv just done a scruffy 1.52.4xx more to come.cheers buddy

Amo took P1 by a hundredth.
Didn't watch his lap but I know he's using dirty oil, looking forward to see Ti-tech's response. I guess he'll go into 5s.
Wish him luck.
