a) Commit to the full series.

Failure to give reasonable notice (a “no-show’ without reason” will result in you losing your full time position in the race series and you will be placed on the wild card list. Your full time position may be offered to an alternative driver.
If you are unsure if you are able to commit to the full series, please connect us to discuss or please nominate yourself as a wildcard. This is to ensure that we are getting best possible participation rates, which means more exciting, closer racing for everyone.

Tyre compound limits apply. Each tier has the following compounds available.
2x Racing Medium
4x Racing Hard
The following ORS tyre rules apply;
No mixing sets (i.e. RM front and RH rear)
Qualifying and Race start count as 1 set used
You cannot change sets during qualifying
You must start the race on your qualifying tyre
Pit lane opens end of lap 7 for first tyre compound change
Pit lane closes with 7 laps to go for last tyre compound change
You must use all tyre compounds during a race
Stewards will make a note of each driver’s tyres and penalties will be handed down if you fail to comply.
Penalties can vary from warnings, point deductions and to disqualifications.
Qualifying is now split into 3 x 10 minute sessions. Drivers MUST state their tyre compound for qualifying/race start A DAY BEFORE THE RACE (Sunday Night) via posting in the forum or sending a PSN message to jasr73 and Oni_chan. Once you have submitted your tyre choice it cannot be changed.
Each Tier will go out in qualifying sessions separately to ensure each Tier participant has enough free track space to set their best qualifying time.
8:30pm - Q1 - 10mins - Tier 3
8:40pm - Q2 - 10mins - Tier 2
8:50pm - Q3 - 10mins - Tier 1
Tiers only battle for grid positions 1-6 during qualifying within their own tier. In other words a T1 drivers position on the timings has no effect on T2 and T3s final podium.
Example 1 There are 5 x T1, 5 x T2 and 6 x T3 participants on race night. After qualifying a driver in T1 ends up 11th on the overall lap time board and has the slowest time in T1. They would therefore be in P5 for race start on the overall grid.
Example 2 After qualifying a driver in T2 ends up 3rd on the overall lap time board and has the fastest time out of T2 which would put them in P6 for race start on the overall grid.
Once qualifying is complete and the grid positions have been read out to the drivers. The drivers will exit pit lane and line up in order of T3, T2 then T1 (T3 being at the front of the group, T2 in the middle and T1 at the back). Once everyone is in position we will start the race. This is to ensure the grid is sorted correctly for race start.
Example: Race start grid positions. (T1 starts from back)
T3 | T3 | T3 | T2 | T2 | T2 | T1 | T1
T3 | T3 | T3 | T2 | T2 | T1 | T1 | T1
This season we will incorporate staggered starts. During the “3,2,1 Go!” countdown only Tier 3 will leave the line. Tier 1 & 2 must keep their brakes applied. Looking at the total time in the corner Tier 2 will leave at 10 seconds then Tier 1 at 20 seconds.
Anyone caught jumping the start will be issued with a 20 second penalty to the total time. If a driver continuously jumps the start they will suffer a point penalty and/or miss the next race (Stewards will rule on this).
Please note there is an honor system in place here and all drivers are expected to abide by the new start procedure in the spirit of good sportsmanship.
During the season there are 2 rounds out of the 8 rounds called Sprint races. During a sprint race the
use all tyre compound rule does not apply. However the start on qualifying tyre rule does.
Sprint rounds consist of 3 short races during the one session. The first race uses standard qualifying positions while
race 2 & 3 will use reverse grid based on the previous race result.
Points obtained during a sprint race differ from the standard championship points.
Out of the 3 races each driver must choose which race (1, 2 or 3) they choose to drop the points for.
You can only obtain points from 2 of the 3 races and your worst result will be dropped.
The rule from season seven that required ballast to be applied to a driver that wins two (2) races in a row has been removed.
Ballast off 35kgs will now be applied to any driver who finishes in first place and 25kgs to anyone who finishes in second place.
This ballast handicap will be subject to ongoing race results and will only be fixed for one round after it has been allocated.
If in the next round, a driver succeeds in placing first again, they will incur an additional ballast handicap of 35kg bringing a total ballast handicap to a maximum total of 70kg. This is the maximum amount of ballast any driver can attract regardless of subsequent results.
If in the following round a driver with ballast handicap fails to place in a top three position, they will have their entire accumulated ballast removed for the next race.
In addition, in the event that a driver wins a race by a margin of over 25 seconds to second place they may incur the maximum 70Kg ballast handicap for the next race, if they do not have already have the maximum handicap in place.
To summarize the changes to ballast see below:
➢ The maximum ballast that can be applied to a driver is 70kgs over the entire series.
➢ First place receives a 35kg ballast handicap fixed for the next race only
➢ Second place receives a 25kg ballast handicap fixed for the next race only
➢ In the event the margin between first and second place is over 25 seconds a 70kg ballast may be applied for the next race (subject to assessment of the race).
➢ Failing to score a podium with ballast applied will have your total ballast handicap removed
➢ Winning two races in a row will incur 70kg ballast handicap for the next race
➢ Placing second for two races in a row will incur a ballast handicap of 50kg for the next race
