I don't think they care too much. I have a friend who wrecked a "2.0" gti with a vr6 swap and they didn't care. I also know a girl who had a worked 1.8t with big turbo and all that jazz and never got any slack over it. I guess insurance is different over here. You don't have to claim work done to car. But I'm pretty sure if someone has a cai and they flood out there car they might not cover it.How does insurance work in the US? I know if I had a 4 cylinder car insured here, and wrecked it, and they found out I was running with a V8 under the hood, the only thing I would get from the insurance company would be laughter. Lots and lots of laughter. Hell, things like boost controllers/exhausts are enough for them to deny claims...

Your friends' companies were obviously very poor then, & probably didn't know the VR6 engine did not belong there. That or they had a special deal as R1600 pointed out. But, most insurance companies will leap on the chance to call fraud if you have work done you don't tell them about, esp. if they find turbos/superchargers or any sort of major engine work they find out isn't factory.I don't think they care too much. Exhausts won't normally do anything. It's a part of the car that typically doesn't bother insurance companies. But boost controllers & all that jazz can be enough for them to claim fraud on.slidesquad#1How does insurance work in the US? And this is why you don't lease cars.
Most comfortable back seats ever!
Who needs the back seats when the fronts are just as good
MistaX, no need to be a jerk about it, perhaps you should move on?
What a dumb decision.
Hope you buy it.
Enough said.
Oh right I forgot, GTP hasn't had a sense of humor since 2007.
Back on topic, you really should just buy http://newjersey.craigslist.org/cto/1765995825.html this.
Unless you can actually stay within the requirements....And this is why you don't lease cars.
So, last night I drove the crown vic and i absolutely loved it. The trans didn't act up at all and we think it just might be the seals from a long stint of it sitting. The one real window is fried but that doesn't really concern be considering the others do and the ac blows ice cold. The car handled like a big comfy boat should and the motor is solid as a rock. Probably bringing it to my shop tomorrow to ask about the seals. I'm working on paying only 500 for it so even if it needs minor work it doesn't bother me, it runs and drives fine under normal conditions, I just can not beat on it from a dead stop and going above 60.
Tranny's don't always act up right away. Sometimes mine will slip a little in OD after it got dirty, sometimes it changes where it wants to shift, but the incidents are few and far between. Just be aware it could be trouble in the making. BUT! Being an AOD, not an E4OD like my truck, there are rebuild kits you can buy and do yourself with some knowledge. The rebuild kit is $191 for an AOD
