Anyone else notice that the Limo, Escalade, Hummer, etc can no longer be used in hoppers? Shame too, because I had an awesome D-Class Limo.
The hoppers have collisions right?Anyone else notice that the Limo, Escalade, Hummer, etc can no longer be used in hoppers? Shame too, because I had an awesome D-Class Limo.
Yeah.The hoppers have collisions right?

I was reading that earlier, where do these people come up with some of this stuff? There was another forum started earlier today over there with people complaining again about the wheel spins being too generous. This thread will be sure to make fans of the gimmick cars (Limo, Vandura, etc.) pretty annoyed....

I bet you'll cringe at least once.![]()
Most likely it's just a fix for that weird Japanese text on the intro screen. If I recall correctly, only the PAL and NTSC-J versions were affected. I never saw the screen before, and I'm on the NTSC version.Hmmm, 83mb update, I wonder what it is...
The one that got me was a quote along the lines of "They should ban vehicles like the Vandura and Limo from all online hoppers. I see why Project Cars is highly acclaimed now".I was reading that earlier, where do these people come up with some of this stuff? Alright, I understand the banning of cars which are absolutely useless and undrivable in any racing situation such as the Gurkha and Hummer but banning stuff like the Transit Van, Vandura, Limo, along with others that are actually feasible and can be fast? This won't help the wrecking problem, it makes no difference other than a different car choice. For real, there's so many different options to fix wrecking but nothing that will actually help is being done and if history continues to repeat itself, that's going to continue.
Now, I don't get to race some of my favourite fun cars in public lobbies when I want because apparently, this is going to help the wrecking problem. Sigh.
I don't mind. If it diverts even 20% of wreckers away, that's fine by me.
As long as it isn't based on microsofts reputation system. That thing is big time broken. Anyone can false report you and it brings your rating down. I didn't know much about this until I read some articles on it yesterday. It sounds like it's a mess for some people trying to play online multiplayer games, and their reputation is bad just because they are good at certain shooters or other games and people false report them. I still don't quite understand it all.Is it possible to program known bad drivers as ghosts when they enter rooms? I'm sure the game could be programmed to distinguish hard racing and deliberate ramming other players.
Hey Folks,
We did indeed make the decision to remove a certain number of larger vehicles from MP -- mainly to remove some of the larger "weapons" that certain players, intent on ruining MP races, have been using. While we believe this is going to make a better racing experience for the majority of players online, I recognize that not everyone is happy with this decision. To that end, we are looking into creating a MP hopper in the future where these vehicles will be allowed to participate.
Thanks,
Brian
That's a good idea. That was a quick response. I haven't really driven any of the banned cars online, I haven't driven them a lot offline either. I'm sure they can be fast and driven properly in the right hands. Something like the limo though, something that long in the hands of someone who isn't the best driver in the first place, yeah I can see why they removed that. Even a person who isn't intentionally wrecking, but just doesn't have the best driving skills, that would be annoying. Especially in tight turns etc, it seems it would be blocking a lot of the turn, and I could see how that could upset people. I don't like to see them banning cars, I guess that could be a slippery slope, but there's still 475 or so other cars to pick from.Sorry for the double post, but finally, we get an official reason from Turn 10 member Mechberg as to why certain vehicles were taken out...
Very true. I'm glad I can use my '65 Cooper S in D-class hoppers again. That's a good idea. That was a quick response.
