No, saying people "hacking, oh but it's ok because we do this" , it's trying to justify something that is ultimately still, the same thing. Hacking is still hacking, stealing is still stealing, i'm saying no matter how much you dress something up the underlying meaning is the same.

The underlying meining is totally different...
Just my opinion. :)

I just hope they see that a part of the "hackers" don't ruin the experience of others.
Some people make those hybrids to piss off people, it's good that they do something about that.
But the people that do it just to have fun (without annoying others) aren't a problem in my opinion.
They have more fun with the game, because of the hacking and no other people get mad...
The people that make "realistic hybrids" make the game better I think.
So, they should only ban the people that make unrealistic hybrids with way too much power.

Like i have said before in another thread (at least trying to figure out PD's word play) that this "Please be aware that usage of illicitly modified game data and any mischievous conduct against other players using such data are strictly prohibited, and will be subject to penalties as soon as they are found".
Then PD's actions in removing the times by hybrid users in the online ranked seasonal drift/time trials. This was aimed directly at people using the cars in a way to gain a unfair advantage. Seeing that the people/cars in general (talking about outside the time/drift trials) not being banned/removed from being able to access online features seem that way too.

Although a lot of people do not fully understand where when and where the ToS applies to you what i can say is this.

The loss of being able to access online features is very real and can happen in general. whether they decide to do it in large scall totally up to them. However being that they can bann/block you from using the online features they cannot brick/block your system from working. Just online. Same thing that is with the jailbroken PS3s.

But it depends. As of right now hybrids are still working online. Just i would listen to the warning the PD has sent and continue to stay out of the online ranked seasoanl drift/time trials. (which i fully agree if you have/planning on going into one of those events you are simply asking for it and i will laugh when you get banned for entering your hybrid in those)

If this involves only TT's and Seasonals I don't care. If it means all hybrids are gone that's sad news indeed. Hybriding revived a virtually dead game for me. I feel especially sad for those that continuously get beat online as they won't be able to jump up and down crying, "hybrid, hybrid, hybrid!!"...:sly:

The ban is for Secret Menu users most likely, they knew about hybrids for a long time, but since they don't yield extra performance/pp, they were fine with them out of time trials and drift trials.

As is typical for Sony/PD this is a vague, poorly written piece of information, that leaves everyone in the dark as to where to go from here. Are they just referring to TT's and other online official events or all online racing in general? Are private lobbies included or not? If I have the cars in my garage but go online and use them will I eventually get banned?

Regardless of what side of the issue you fall on, the terrible communication skills exhibited in Sony/PD press releases are not good for business. So far it looks like people are getting online with hybrids. If they let that go for a couple of weeks and then ban everyone using hybrids, they are going to have a revolt on their hands.

Just say exactly what you mean and stick to it and everyone would be fine with that. Don't make us guess and that's exactly what they are doing. Bad, bad, business. 👎👎

PSN ban only on GT5 online networking.

So, is the following possible?

- I make a second PSN-account.
- Put the save data of my first account on my second.
- Sell the hybrids on my first account.

Sorry if this is a dumb question...
I am not very good with this sorts of things. :guilty:

This I think this is possibly the wrong way for Sony to do it and it could do more harm to the GT5 followers than good…..

I’ve been into the GT series since it first started and a petrol head for as long as I can remember!
When GT5 came out I was playing it on the same day and was amazed at the accuracy of the cars and the game play itself. But after a year the game was virtually completed and nearly all the cars bought or won, the game that I loved became ‘stale’ losing the sparkle and attraction it first had.

I’ve played the online lobbies with Track days, Drifting, Nacar, Dirty Nascar, Cops n robbers etc. and again I’m bored of the game again.
Then I started to see these cars that were flying past at 1000mph with 60000bhp and wheels that stick out like wings on a Jumbo…. Now to me they seemed a total waste of time and space , what is the point in going so fast in a straight line and crashing into everyone else? they serve no purpose what so ever!

However it did open the opportunity for a group of Petrol Heads to create some cars with engine/chassis transplants that were appetising.
For example dropping a 1969 V8 from the Ford Pace car into the Aston Martin Vanquish gave it a sound that an Aston should have when driven hard, that deep growl with a hint of a rasp sounded exquisite (ok the Vanquish was a V12 not a V8 but it sounded right) and with the right tweak here and there it had the proper Bhp too. And I’m sure there are lots of other combination people have done that would be a dream to drive….

Personally what they should of done is to restricted the online play so no ‘modified cars’ could be used in any of the online challenges and then to add an option in the lobby set up so that modified cars or hybrids can be excluded when desired. Also putting a limit on the BHP increase capping it at say 1800bhp to stop the silliness would be a good idea too. And before anyone comments No i have never used a Hybrid for personal gain in online races, its been purley for personal enjoyment!

Now that the recent injection of life to the game has been removed I feel that GT5 is no longer a game I wish to play, there is nothing exciting there making me want to play it now. (there is only so long one can play a game that has been completed)

I dare say I am probably not the only one who will now be looking for an alternative game to play…..

GT6 better have some good options or tuning/customization features or I’m not going bother buying it nor a PS4 to play it on. It will be just the same as GT5!!!!!

I’m not parting with any money for the same game that will be completed in 2 years even if it has got better graphics……

So Sony you will have ‘Poop or get off the toilet’! You say you will ban everyone involved and that’s a BIG statement. Just remember if you ban everyone who has done it that’s going to be a very large number GT5 gamers who buy DLC’s and potential customers of GT6 and the PS4.

You could lose a lot of business here? (This is where Microsoft come forward with a fully tuning game with all the bells and whistles lol) but for now its sayonara from this GT5 player…….

If you figure out how to rename the save data then yes i wouldn't see a issue.

If I copy the save data of my first account on a USB and paste it in my second.
I was tinking that was a good idea.
I told you I wasn't good with those things. :sly:

You can't copy game saves between users. Everyone should have made a couple of saves before they started hybriding and saved them in a couple of places for safety. I've already loaded my pre-hybrid save until I see how this plays out, but I have the hybrid save ready just in case because I don't think this will affect anything except Seasonals, TT's and PD issued events. I think Open Lobbies and Lounges will be fine.

To summarize, fatty joined up to say that he will never again buy a game that will keep him interested for over 2 years.

In other words, he never felt the need to post anything to anyone, but now he's so riled up that he just had to voice his opinion. Good for him.👍 We need voices on both sides of this issue.

I guess I'll be a guinea pig. I'll stay online with Hybrids. I'll just delete the ones above 900 hp.

I have been reading all kinds of threads for the last few hours...
A lot of people say thet only ban the people that use hybrids in Seasonals etc.
Do you guys think if you drive online in a open drift lobby with a hybrid that I will get banned?

Well it only took them what, 3 or 4 months? Before they started handing out bans. (Anyone from here been banned yet?)
I wonder how much money they lost from all the people activating DLC's without paying for them. (IMO it was stupid for PD to include DLC in patchs and put it on your save data without even being payed for, they deserve every penny lost if they couldn't foresee people hacking it and activating it for free.)

I wish I had a crystal ball to see into the future and find out what features GT6 includes and if PD paid any notice at all to what their community has been doing with hybriding and include some of it as offical features or if it was all completely ignored.

If you actually read it you will see i did say a little more than that....

Im guessing you are 'Anti' Hybrids?

Let it go Fatty, it's not worth the effort. :)

They lost no money from DLC's. I doubt anyone that hadn't bought them up until now was vigorously collecting the pennies the needed to buy a couple of cars and tracks. If they don't patch it however, they will obviously lose the sales of future DLC, which could be an issue, but I don't think you'll be seeing any more DLC now.

Can't say at this point, let it go a couple of days and we'll find out soon enough.

I made a hybrid Pace Car, sometimes I use it to annoy other hybrids.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Let the newcomers and haters hate all they want. On my group of players we had ZERO issues with this whole hybrid issue. Even when only a few had them.
See, we love the game, but we also like the social part of it and friendly competition. I'm not new on GT so I know what I talking about; ULTRA competitive players and sore losers are the problem, not the hacks.

Having said it, there is no doubt it's an infrigement of the terms, like it or not...

PD has known about hybrids for a long time, and dealt with them already by banning them from TTs and DTs but as soon as the secret menu hack comes up, this statement has been released.

What can people do with this secret menu?
Note: I don't want to know how, neither do I want to try it!
