So Nazis were just great dudes who explored a bit of humans?

Everyone of us have a "lease" licence of GT5, no rights to alter on code in it, or modify any other part of it (ie. savedata).

I hope people understand what consequences might come from this modding/hybriding aka. illegal modification of others property.

Hopefully PD makes a small update what locks out every modified data containing GT5 from network play. No need to lock totally out, but until savedata is legit, so legit checking software inside of GT5.

It doesn't matter how nice or fine or anything those modded cars look, they are not there by legal owner of game, and we should respect that.

Due those "humble" modders we can't anymore rely any fair league of racing, even when using same cars 'coz someone can be altered grip, aero or any other part of car data what makes his car different than real regulations will allow.

If someone figures out wisdom of invisibility, it would be nice, until he get caught by doing your wife, and teaching your neighbor how to do it also.

 And there I was feeling bad for my invocation of Godwin's Law, you decide to take it to the next level. What a scary world this is.

"While falling afoul of Godwin's law tends to cause the individual making the comparison to lose their argument or credibility, Godwin's law itself can be abused as a distraction, diversion or even as censorship, fallaciously miscasting an opponent's argument as hyperbole when the comparisons made by the argument are actually appropriate. Similar criticisms of the "law" (or "at least the distorted version which purports to prohibit all comparisons to German crimes") have been made by Glenn Greenwald."

Ive been away for a long time, I had no idea this was happening..To those getting banned by PD, is it a Perma ban? (MAC Address) or is it PSN tag related?

Oh the irony.

You seem to have missed the part where I said I'd beaten you to it, anyway, so I'm not sure why you think I'm so devoid of self awareness that you need to distract from the horrendous logic of your post by undermining my post, if you see what I mean. I.e. pot, kettle, etc.

But seriously, comparing hybriding to the invisible man committing adultery with your wife is nothing if not hyperbole (or just classic fearmongering), and just about sums up what I think of your post. You made no attempt at reason, just waded in brandishing over-the-top imagery like some kind of Stalinist PR man.

I'll repeat: there is a reason all of this falls under separate laws and regulations from ordinary, tangible things like property. So stop trying to form analogies as though they were somehow comparable.

Oh the irony.

It's all about Law and Regulations, aka. rules.

Modders are just breaking rules, and pretending at it's ok 'coz they say so.
They are ruining joy of gaming from persons who want to obey rules.

If I say at killing makes my life more fun and I like to see blood pouring out of dead persons head, it makes so much more life feeling moment to me, is this fine also? And doing this only 'coz life starts to be boring, killing opens so much more to explore.. Think..
Bunch of killers and we will legalize it?
Claiming it legal 'coz it's your own decision what you want to do with your life..yeah..

My message was just eye opener..

Nah, I think I'll keep the playing the game how I want and continue making hybrid cars. :)

And the fact people keep making these extreme analogies with hybriding (comparing alter a save file to medical torture? Seriously?) is quite alarming?

Sounds good. Let's get to work on that.

Can I try this experiment on Odefinn? He did pitch the idea, might as well contribute to the science.

Please don't mix human life or any beings with gaming, OdeFinn.

I first thought hybriding was straight cheating.I hated everything about it.Until i had someone make me 1.Let me tell you,if it is done correctly without messing with the chassis it feels like a real life swap.No grip multiplier,no chassis swaps.Just engine swaps and see the great fun you will have.

Ummm?

First, you didn't provide any context to begin with, so I can only interpret your words in the literal sense.

Second, you did in fact imply, and say, that "without rules, nothing would function" (paraphrased a little there, sorry).

I'm too exhausted to reply to the rest of your posts...

Dino/Dreamer, this isn't the first time you and I have "conversed", so I've started to notice a pattern in many of your posts. You tend to make very short, undescriptive, one or two sentence posts, and then expect people to know exactly what you mean, and in what context. It's difficult to know what you mean at the best of times.

I honestly don't know what I'm saying either. :) I make short brief responses because I don't need to make a paragraph to get the point across.

Anyways, I'm done with you and with this thread  I don't think I care to reply to you anymore, as every time we've had a conversation, I've walked away with a headache from all the :banghead: Have a nice life 👍

How do you think I felt when argueing with you in the Drift Forum?

👍 I agree.

To take this one stop further, even with chassis swaps, grip multipliers etc. you can make a car faster than it is stock, but not faster than the fastest cars at a given PP level. Add grip/lose HP to maintain PP. Add HP/lose grip/downforce or add weight to maintain PP. There is no free lunch. The PP system still works with hybrids, outside the ones that have so much HP they break the system and it goes backwards.

I had an awesome race last night on a custom track with my grip enhanced 69' Vette in a hybrid friendly room. I was under 350 hp at 500PP but the sound is incredible and it corners better than stock although not as good as the best cars at 500PP.

Yup ^^ PP is no different to before with these hybrids. There is still the same "cheat" cars, even the hybrids can't beat them at the same PP. Thanks johnny for all your testing, proof alone that hybrids at given PP levels are not cheating . . .

I race with regulars, when I get beat on Monaco (edit: monza!) by a subaru brz when I'm in a 06 z06 (driving my ass off) at 580pp, I feel there is something wrong.

Would it make you feel better if the same guy was in a GTR or a Ford GT and beat you? Unless he was rocking 2500 hp and breaking the PP system, which I highly doubt given the track, you just got beat by a better driver.

that was me LOL everything was stock except for grip multiplier and a little bit of front downforce.

I see a little contradiction there.

Also: grievers case proven?

Actually in my case yes. I would be more satisfied with somebody who beat me in a car I know wasn't given any special treatment.

What annoys me most about the modding is the element of doubt it introduced. If I race online, come in second and see a car pull more g's than what should be possible in the replay, it kind of kills my fun. I sure bet the dude had his fun, but at the expense of mine. If it was a legitimate loss, I still would have had fun because now I can see what he did better than me driver wise. The other way I was cheated out of a win, however insignificant it may have been.

There should not even be this element of doubting someone performance. Sure modders give a rats ass because they use the same weapons. The clean populace on the other hand is slowly driven out of the game. Recent league events have had declining attendance (only an observation). Many say modding revitalized the game, but only for people with the modding mindset. The result is GT5 becoming unattractive for the normal players.

What h is trying to say is that pp is pp. He just made a car from a lower tier, the BRZ, competitive in your class. It was also quite a tight track. The BRZ should have a slight advantage there. It's still fair man. It's still not as fast as a LFA or a R35.

I'll volunteer if you can do it without breaking any rules or laws.

Alright, International waters it is :D.

Initial D Stage 1 episode 3 or 4, Takumi's Gutter trick. Used it a couple times and it works. It can allow you to take a corner roughly 5-10mph faster, granted you screw up and your perfect lap is toast because if you don't spin your ramming the inside wall. This would allow you to achieve higher Lateral G's without altering grip, downforce or suspension. So, in some cases it may also be the tune or driving style being used.

This psychological issue is obviously important. Although the potential for slight unfairness under the old regime still meant that there was doubt as to whether you were out classed or your car was. I think, as a mental exercise, maybe it's a really good opportunity to develop some extreme tolerance and thought control to the point that accepting defeat (and building on it) becomes super-constructive. Not that I'd know anything about that, I'm just as bad as anyone at conjuring excuses, although at least I can say I try not to be a sore loser. Not that I'm accusing anyone, to be clear. Anyway!

Is there nothing that league organisers can do about this? I guess I don't have this issue because I'm a pub' shuffler (I've never considered GT5's online filtering / regulations to be good enough to try anything else even semi-seriously). :dopey:
